  5. Several generations had past since the Universe was at battle with a plague of monsters that ran wild across several planets. Few knew about this battle that raged on for hundreds of years. It wasn't until a nameless powerful hero stood up and stopped this menace upon the Universe that it was finally defeated. The war between the monsters and the Hero led to many deaths and in the end he was the sole survivor of the incident. Soon the nameless hero was lost to history and all but forgotten.

  7. Kazuya was only ten and he was known in his small mountain village to be one of the strongest there. He lived peacefully and dreamed of one day going out into the vast world and explore it and uncover its secrets. One day his parents tasked him with going and picking some wild mushrooms in the nearby forest for that night's dinner. As Kazuya ran out the door he was excited that he would once again be able to explore the forest which his parents often didn't allow him to do. Running along the old dirt path in the village he happily waved to some of the other villagers who were working outside who would greet him with a smile and wave back. After some time walking he found the borderline of the forest. Tall pine trees seemed to stand in a straight line for miles to the left and right. Turning right he would walk along the tree line trying to find a small path that led into the forest that he often took. After another few minutes of slowly walking and enjoying the fresh air he found it. He entered and began to look for mushrooms for his parents.

  9. Having been in the forest for several hours now he had already found more than enough mushrooms for his supper. He was now just going deeper in trying to find new places to explore and play. The forest was very dark as there were so many trees it blocked off a lot of sun light. A strong scent of pine was all around as they were all around making for a refreshing smell every time he inhaled. The dirt below his feet was moist and in some spots very muddy but Kazuya didn't mind getting a little dirty. As he walked around he saw several different animals who all bolted as soon as they spotted him most likely thinking he was a hunter. Kazuya thought this forest was the most beautiful and peaceful place on Earth as it was completely untouched by man.

  11. After several more hours of walking around he had noticed that it was beginning to get darker outside. Frowning Kazuya knew he would need to get back soon as his parents were probably wondering where he was by now. Looking around he couldn't see the path he was walking on. He figured that he wasn't paying attention while he was walking and didn't stick to the path. He was slightly panicked now as he knew that several people have went missing in this forest from getting off the path. Running back in the direction he believed to be the way he came in from he began frantically searching for the path he came on. Kazuya's panic was now turning into fear and despair as he couldn't find the path. Stopping to take a breathe he looked up once again and saw through the trees that the moon was now high up in the sky and it was nearly pitch black out. Now struggling to see and scared out of his mind he began to run around in every direction only getting lost more. From a distance he thought that he had seen a clearing he figured that this was his best chance to figure out where he was he dashed towards it. Upon approaching it he saw a dim light and the smell of smoke in the air which gave him hope. "People!" He said to himself feeling relief rush over him.

  13. Upon entering the clearing he saw a single man sitting by a little fire trying to warm himself. Coming closer he noticed that the man seemed very old and almost frail. Kazuya wondered why such an old man was in the forest by himself but he ignored that thought. "E-excuse me..." He spoke softly trying not to frighten the man "Can you help me? I seem to of gotten lost out here.". The old man didn't respond at first but after a few moments he looked up to see who was there. His eyes widened as he saw Kazuya standing there. Standing up quickly he grabbed a long sword that sat beside the fire. He was very tall standing well over six foot. He wore old and faded armor that looked like it was falling apart and an old grey cloak over that. The old man then said "It seems that once again we meet my old enemy! I thought I killed you long ago!". Kazuya backed up a few paces upon hearing this thinking that this was just some senile old warrior making a mistake. "I-I don't know what you are talking about mister... I have never seen you before!" Kazuya said once again backing up a few more paces. The other man chuckled before saying "Don't think you can fool me... You may look different from before but you cannot change your soul! This time I will wipe you from existence!".
  14.
  15. Rushing forward the man unsheathed his blade and threw the sheathe to the side. Kazuya once again backed up but this time at a much quicker pace. He backed up until he felt himself bump into a tree where he froze while the old man charged at him. A heavy swing came at his head but he ducked right before it cut his head off and it only sliced a few pieces of hair off. The old man then lifted his sword high above his head and tried to bring it down on Kazuya but once again he dodged it just in time by rolling out of the way though all the mushrooms he gathered were now scattered all over the ground. "P-please wait!" He shouted "There must be a misunderstan-" He was interrupted by another sword swing aimed at his legs. Kazuya knew now that there was no getting through to this old man anymore. All he could do now was fight so that he could live to see another day. The old man once again came in for a swing but Kazuya dodged it jumping to the his side and landed a powerful blow to his ribs causing a few of them to make a loud snap. The old man recoiled from the blow but quickly recovered as if the hit never happened. He once again gave another powerful swing of his sword and this time it grazed Kazuya's chest causing s small spray of blood to shoot out. Kazuya gripped the wound in a good amount of pain from it. Knowing he needed to be more careful he began to move faster. This time Kazuya was the first one to make the move running past the old man's guard as he would land a solid upper cut in the man's chin. Upon impact he could feel several of the teeth in the old man's mouth chip off and he could feel the chin bone crack under the skin. The old man jumped back spitting out a small bit of blood and tooth looking rather pissed now. Dropping his sword he said "Looks like I will need to get serious...".
  16.
  17. After fighting for several dozen minutes both of them were starting to get rather fatigued. Kazuya noticed that he was learning rather fast and he seemed to be starting to overpower the man more and more. He needed to end this quickly before he dropped though. Both of them rushed forward engaging in hand to hand combat blocking and dodging eachother's hits over and over moving at speeds hard for the human eye to see. Kazuya took the lead though as he landed a solid blow in the man's gut and a powerful kick to his side. But the man quickly recovered and sent a deadly blow to Kazuya's face landing right on the side of his jaw breaking it. Kazuya didn't have time to worry about this though as he would jump up and bring his leg down on the man's shoulder dislocating it. This cut down the old man's fighting strength some allowing Kazuya to charge in and land a powerful combo on him sending him flying back before slamming on the ground with a loud thud. The man tried to get up but he was unsuccessful and fell back to the ground coughing up a small bit of blood. Kazuya walked over to him taking a knee and beside him wondering what he would do next. "Finish me... You have won this time..." The old man said weakly. Kazuya shook his head saying "No... I don't wish to do such a thing. I am afraid I don't even know who you are...". This left the old man surprised before closing his eyes and sighing. "So you really are a different person now... I am glad that you turned out good in the end...". It was at this time that Kazuya began to fell the fatigue and exhaustion of the fight kick in as he would fall to the ground beside the old man. Barely conscious he felt the old man's hand touch his shoulder before he went off into a deep sleep dreaming of a great war between man and monster.
  18.
  19. Upon opening his eyes Kazuya found himself looking up into direct sun light. He turned over as the sun burned his eyes he noticed that he was on the outskirts of the forest. "Huh..." He mumbled to himself "Was it all just a dream?". Looking down he saw that at his side was a sword and next to it his bag of mushrooms he had gathered. At this point he knew that it was not a dream and that everything that had happened was real. Examining his body he noticed that not a single wound from his fight remained not even a single bruise. Smiling he knew that the old man had done this for him and that he was most likely the one that got him out of the forest safely. Upon returning how he was greeted by his mother who was nearly in tears once she saw he was safe and an angry but relieved father right beside her. He was happy to be home once again.
