- Ran into this issue today installing 10.11.6 off a USB. Of course it was just like the last few times I had install issues. Seems to always point to the DATE being off. It's a habit of mine to unplug the battery when install new HDD/SSDs in clients machine. Most of the time the clock is then reset.
- Open terminal from that USB installer, type in DATE. If its off, type this easy command:
- date 091510152016
- Your essentially setting the date/time to: Sept 15th, 10:15am, 2016. Adjust it to whatever the correct one is, or use that for now to at least get the OS installed. A lot of times I just connect the installer to the WIFI, does the trick too. That should resolve your issue. I personally use DiskMaker X 5 to make these installers, after downloading the image from the apple store on another mac.
