As a eighth semester student of electronic engineering in the University of Brasilia, I have had the opportunity to learn about different aspects of this field, both in the digital and analogic approaches. I am particularly interested in studying digital communication, embedded systems, microcontrollers and reprogrammable circuits, as well as to develop a stronger business sense so necessary nowadays.
	As an engineer student, my primary objectives are related to the requirements necessary for me to graduate as a competent engineer that possesses not only academic understanding, but also the technical and practical skills that make a good engineer. That said, I wound be delighted to be able to attend laboratories and participate on practical activities in order to improve such skills.
	I believe that the study of digital communications are of great importance to an electronic engineer. To be able to make a quality channel between the issuing and the receptor is the cornerstone of the electronic, and without it we simply do not have a way to transmit information, and information is the real currency of our era. In conjunction, control and processing are also fundamental areas of electronics, so it is necessary to use some platforms to perform such operations. Embedded systems, microcontrollers and reprogrammable circuits are solutions to this matter, and mastering such platforms is key to electronic.
	Only knowing the theoretical and practical knowledge is pointless if I do not have the ability to create something useful from it. It is necessary to the electronic engineer to have such skills, to analyze what is the consumer’s needs and what will make them buy your product. Is my product useful? It solves the consumer’s problem? It is accessible? Such knowledge are no more in the engineering field, but in the business field, so it’s important to enlarge my field of vision to another areas of knowledge, such is the importance of the business in my formation.
	Being able to develop the mentioned skills wound fulfill a key part of my academic objectives. If given the chance to do this inside the American higher education systems, I could acquire a wilder perspective of essential requirements to my formation; learn about different thought structures would certainly be of great help for me as a future engineer.
