We all know that Strategy used to be a chat, it was made unofficial and then not long after changed to OverUsed in order to give each tier a chat. I was made a Driver when Strategy was made unofficial, and then again when it was turned into OverUsed. I would like to have a new strategy room created. The idea of this new strategy room is to have a smaller, significantly more helpful, focused chat community than what the current tier chats provide. I have a lot of experience in the OU room and UU room, and while both chats are alright in general for being social, however neither provide a really helpful atmosphere because the chat is too random. Most of the Drivers in OU try to keep the chat on topic, but usually it isn't possible due to the fact that the users within the room don't respond to our efforts. The new chat would provide a place where users can have intelligent discussions regarding teams and synergies, and especially help each other test teams. The idea of the whole chat providing suggestions for a user about play style, predictions, and synergies, based on seeing them play and their team in action could be invaluable in helping decent or good players move to the next level of competitive battling. Unfortunately non of the current chats provide this level of helpfulness or a more focused atmosphere for team building and help. I have no doubt that the chat would be successful based on how successful the previous strategy chat was before being converted to OU. We will not have to focus exclusively on one tier, so anyone is welcome and it teaches players not only about the tier that they're interested in, but the other tiers as well, hopefully improving the amount of play, and the caliber of players, in all tiers. The new Strategy room can also be a much friendlier environment for new players. Many times I have seen new players ask for help testing teams ignored, or their battle is joined and the chat they thought would be helpful is full of non relevant conversation or unhelpful criticisms that are not advice driven which ends with people just saying that their team is bad and not offering solutions, thus discouraging the new player. As a Driver, I try to stop this and help as much as possible, most of the time that means pulling new players aside, out of the chat, and helping them through PM's. Hopefully this new room will make things like that unnecessary. This room is definitely needed and will serve a currently unfulfilled need. Thanks
