[2010-11-11 18::30:22] Doink: The pilots braved the storm to return back to Ward hall, and have been quickly whisked underground to their Evas.
[2010-11-11 18::32:24] Ruru_Fields: still shivers. "My toes are frozen." She complains in her wet uniform.
[2010-11-11 18::35:46] Henri_DEllaine: shivering just as much. "And I thought Paris was cold in the winter..."
[2010-11-11 18::36:33] Dmitriy_Platonov: is already at the bridge, looking at the tactical map. It's warm here, and he has a big cup of coffee. But he still feels a chill going down his spine.
[2010-11-11 18::36:34] Mia_al-Misiri: hums loudly.
[2010-11-11 18::36:45] Dmitriy_Platonov: "Pilots? Can you hear me?"
[2010-11-11 18::36:48] John_Kilanger: is cold, but handling it well.
[2010-11-11 18::37:54] Ruru_Fields: makes a beeline to the changing room and pulls her plugsuit on just in time to hear the message on her com. She presses the button. "Hurrying~!"

[2010-11-11 18::38:38] John_Kilanger: "Loud and clear"
[2010-11-11 18::39:19] Henri_DEllaine: follows suit to the locker room, the cold too much for him to have any modesty while quickly changing into his plug suit. "Oui, Director?"

[2010-11-11 18::40:55] Mia_al-Misiri: struggles into a plugsuit.
[2010-11-11 18::41:02] Dmitriy_Platonov: "We are preparing to engage the enemy. Nothing is known about it yet. It approaches the Zone from the north. On a bright side, the area there is well developed to fully support us. So we set a defensive position there, wait for this thing to approach close enough..."
[2010-11-11 18::42:48] Dmitriy_Platonov: "Unfortunately, the source of phenomena is surrounded by heavy storm. So we try to avoid direct approach, which should be  good news for you too. We'll start with pinging the target - with shells and your AT-Fields. Then we'll see what happens."
[2010-11-11 18::43:20] Henri_DEllaine: "Well, John, looks like we won't be shitting our pants this time... as much, anyways..."
[2010-11-11 18::43:59] John_Kilanger: "I don't remember any pants shitting on my end"
[2010-11-11 18::46:04] Henri_DEllaine: is taken a little off guard that his joke fell flat. Maybe his English isn't that good after all... "Ah... well... you know. It's a figure of speach."
[2010-11-11 18::46:54] Ruru_Fields: skitters her way over to Kagemaru and looks aroudn for her technicians with a stern expression and her arms crossed over her chest.
[2010-11-11 18::47:09] Mia_al-Misiri: hangs around in the cages, wandering aimlessly.
[2010-11-11 18::47:25] Doink: techs are standing by with your Entry Plugs ready.
[2010-11-11 18::47:50] Mia_al-Misiri: is ferried to her Evangelion after being directed to it. She gets in with some eagernesss.
[2010-11-11 18::47:55] Henri_DEllaine: goes straight for the golden colossus, hopping into the plug with practiced percision.
[2010-11-11 18::48:11] John_Kilanger: heads towards his eva "that was meant to be a joke."
[2010-11-11 18::48:50] Ruru_Fields: does a handstand on the lip of the plug and spreads into the splits before she rolls into her plug and giggles. "Hi Kagemaru~!"
[2010-11-11 18::48:59] Dmitriy_Platonov: A message flashes on a one of the screens surrounding Dmitriy. He reads it carefully. "Pilots, MAGI analized the phenomena. The storm is actually an extension of it's AT Field. It gets more dense at the center of storm, so at the range of 300 metres from it you are expected to suffer agility problems. The field will simply restrict you from moving swiftly."
[2010-11-11 18::49:55] Mia_al-Misiri: moves her mouth right next to the microphone so that everyone can hear properly.
[2010-11-11 18::50:09] Mia_al-Misiri: "HALLO EVERYBODY."
[2010-11-11 18::50:11] John_Kilanger: "So I take it it's best to engage at range?"
[2010-11-11 18::50:31] Doink: a door slides open above the Command Bunker floor. The Commander enters and takes his customary seat, frowning.
[2010-11-11 18::50:50] Henri_DEllaine: laughs a bit at Mia's interruption. "Yeah, we'll probably want to leave the spears behind for now, John."
[2010-11-11 18::51:14] John_Kilanger: sighs "I suppose"
[2010-11-11 18::51:26] Dmitriy_Platonov: "Yes, John, that's the plan. Hallo Mia." - Dmitriy tries to be calm and friendly towards pilots. Because they deserve it for going out there while he sits here and drinks coffee under the gaze of Commander.
[2010-11-11 18::52:03] Doink: The Evangelions power up. Supports lock into place, and lifts engage, carrying the pilots swiftly upwards towards their destination on the surface.
[2010-11-11 18::53:22] Doink: A hatch in a hillside slides open, and the reach the surface. Even here, just outside the range of the storm proper, the snow is still falling at a rapid pace.  You can see the storm ahead, a grey wall blocking off the landscape before you. It seems to be moving towards you, very slowly.
[2010-11-11 18::55:43] Mia_al-Misiri: has an odd Evangelion. It's bronze and green with large flowing plates coupled together by much smaller woven plates. The head and face is softly set; it would look friendly if its grin weren't slightly too big.
[2010-11-11 18::56:56] Ruru_Fields: whistles softly. "It's cold. Kagemaru wants a jacket... We should have gear for that."
[2010-11-11 18::57:52] Mia_al-Misiri: holds a hand out and lets the snow settle.
[2010-11-11 18::58:19] Dmitriy_Platonov: is giving last orders to the tank squadrons settled near the Evangelion feet and VTOL wings, hovering in the air, struggling through the storm.
[2010-11-11 18::59:33] Henri_DEllaine: opens up 03's wing dot, pulling out the heavy, oversized revolver. He is calm but holds a bit of apprehension after the last battle.
[2010-11-11 19::00:29] John_Kilanger: john pulls his giant Hand Cannon out of one of his wings, he is somewhat unfamiliar with the weapon, prefering to use close range weapons
[2010-11-11 19::01:32] Dmitriy_Platonov: "All units, permission to open fire!" - Dmitriy commands, and tanks unleash a hail of shells, along with VTOLs, blindly swinging missiles into the center of the storm.
[2010-11-11 19::05:02] Doink: The shots fly off, vanishing into the grey mass of the storm. You can hear them impact, somewhere inside.
[2010-11-11 19::05:11] Doink: There's no sign that they had any effect
[2010-11-11 19::05:32] Mia_al-Misiri: synchronises excellently! She stands waiting for something to happen.
[2010-11-11 19::13:20] Ruru_Fields: takes scant steps towards the outside and extends kagemaru's AT field witha bit of personal finger-weaving. It seems to help? Somehow...
[2010-11-11 19::14:17] John_Kilanger: John relaxes himeself as he extends his AT field to full. "Hopefully this won't go like last time" he whispers to himself
[2010-11-11 19::14:36] Mia_al-Misiri: "What happened last time?"
[2010-11-11 19::14:43] Doink: The storm advances on you slowly.
[2010-11-11 19::14:55] John_Kilanger: "nothing"
[2010-11-11 19::15:23] Mia_al-Misiri: "Nothing?"
[2010-11-11 19::15:45] John_Kilanger: remains silent
[2010-11-11 19::16:17] Henri_DEllaine: "As long as we're not under water and can stick together, things should go a lot better." Henri says as he steps out to Ruru's right, expanding his AT field toward the storm.
[2010-11-11 19::20:06] Mia_al-Misiri: spreads her field, hovering backwards slowly. The Eva works to detect the storm's AT field; this time, its senses being hooked up to some kind of relay so Mia doesn't have to try and describe where she feels it.
[2010-11-11 19::25:27] Mia_al-Misiri: kinda flutters as she floats.
[2010-11-11 19::27:45] Dmitriy_Platonov: receives the data from Mia and spends only a brief second to interpret it. "Pilots, the whole storm is the AT-Field. The center of it is 700 metres away from the edge of storm. I suggest you try neutralizing that field from here. Tanks, enter the storm! VTOLs, fire using this coordinates!"
[2010-11-11 19::29:01] Doink: The VTOL's missiles again streak into the grey, and explosions are heard somewhere within the whiteout.
[2010-11-11 19::38:20] Ruru_Fields: hmmphs and blasts into the air, tumbling end over endin the white storm towards where the enemy is supposed to be, her AT field questing for the target and neuting just a little.
[2010-11-11 19::39:14] Dmitriy_Platonov: just sighs. "I said from here. Let's hope nothing bad would happen from it."
[2010-11-11 19::49:40] John_Kilanger: John get's a good grip on his spear, and runs into the storm after Ruru "Henri, stay out here and cover Mia."
[2010-11-11 19::50:53] Doink: As you make it deeper into the storm, you begin to feel yourself slowing. It's as if you have to take extra force to /push/ yourself through the snow.
[2010-11-11 19::53:08] John_Kilanger: "There looks to be some kind of giant humanoid in here, I can't really get a good look, though."
[2010-11-11 19::53:50] Dmitriy_Platonov: "Try to get me a more clear view. It's necessary."
[2010-11-11 19::54:11] John_Kilanger: "I'll try"
[2010-11-11 19::54:48] Henri_DEllaine: grips his controls tightly. "H-humanoid?"
[2010-11-11 19::57:06] Mia_al-Misiri: doesn't get the problem.
[2010-11-11 19::57:14] Doink: Out of the swirling snow around Ruru suddenly looms a figure, a grossly elongated humanoid much taller than your Eva. It sweeps out a massive claw, only to be narrowly deflected by Kagemaru's AT field.
[2010-11-11 20::01:23] Henri_DEllaine: runs forward a bit, just a scant distance from the edge of the storm. "How's it going in there? The minute you need me, radio."
[2010-11-11 20::05:10] Ruru_Fields: makes a strangled noise as fear overtakes her, she mumbles sub-vocalized then tries to hide in herseat, curling up into a little ball as she starts to hyperventilate.
[2010-11-11 20::05:26] Mia_al-Misiri: holds out her Eva's hand towards Henri, its left arm, the right full of spear.
[2010-11-11 20::05:31] Mia_al-Misiri: "Henri?"
[2010-11-11 20::05:37] Mia_al-Misiri: drops to the ground.
[2010-11-11 20::05:42] Henri_DEllaine: "Oui, Mia?"
[2010-11-11 20::05:50] John_Kilanger: "Ruru, are you okay!?"

[2010-11-11 20::07:00] Dmitriy_Platonov: "Ruru! Ruru, how are you?" - Dmitriy stares at the screen where the figure of a creature just flashed, trying to remember... Nothing cames into his mind, except of the vague feeling of dread. Maybe he shouldn't know until the battle is resolved.
[2010-11-11 20::07:01] Mia_al-Misiri: pulls at Henri's AT field. He feels something unpleasant but familiar slithering through his mind and body as Mia smiles vacantly.
[2010-11-11 20::08:40] Henri_DEllaine: shivers. As if the tension of the battle wasn't bad enough, he now had this eary yet endearing feeling sweeping over him.
[2010-11-11 20::10:45] Mia_al-Misiri: moves her Eva's hand and points it into the centre of the storm. A bolt of yellow energy is launched from it.
[2010-11-11 20::13:50] Doink: The bolt of energy tears its way through the storm, searing through the snow and impacting the creature. It lets out a roar of pain as the light sears its body.
[2010-11-11 20::18:43] Mia_al-Misiri: "Is it okay? Can you see it?"
[2010-11-11 20::19:01] Dmitriy_Platonov: "It was good, Mia! Keep it up!"
[2010-11-11 20::19:13] Mia_al-Misiri: "Okay!"
[2010-11-11 20::20:33] Kazimir_Prochazka_: now in his Eva, ascends from an embarkment point on the campus. The large crimson shape coming up from the ground faintly seen through the storm. Over the radio, Kazimir begins to speak in an annoyed tone: "Unit 04, on the ground. Stupid thing got me lost thanks to all the damn snow. Whats the situation, and where is this thing so I can give it a piece of my mind."
[2010-11-11 20::21:17] Mia_al-Misiri: "Hello Kazzz! There is a big man inside the snow!"
[2010-11-11 20::21:31] Henri_DEllaine: "Hah, good you finally showed up, Kaz. Were the maps in French or something?"
[2010-11-11 20::22:19] Kazimir_Prochazka_: "Shut up girl. Shut up Henri. I'm cold and not in the mood."
[2010-11-11 20::22:41] John_Kilanger: "Hey, about time you showed up."
[2010-11-11 20::25:18] Henri_DEllaine: "Come on, Kaz, she just blasted the damn thing. Even you can respect that... It's good to see you, though, I'm feeling a little lightly armed back here."
[2010-11-11 20::25:52] Kazimir_Prochazka_: brushes off the first comment.
[2010-11-11 20::25:59] Dmitriy_Platonov: "There's a target in the snow. Here's the data for precision targetting, Kaz. 300 metres, bad visibility, but I still count on you." - Dmitriy presses the button, then another one - and Ruru feels a sharp and short pain when needle tears her skin, dispensing some drugs to stir her up. - "All the tanks and VTOLs, aim and fire!"
[2010-11-11 20::26:59] Doink: The missles and shells streak into the white—this time, though, you can detect them impacting their target. It cries out again, the same low-pitched call that seems to reverberate througout the storm like an echo chamber, but it doesn't seem to have been hurt much more by it.
[2010-11-11 20::27:26] Kazimir_Prochazka_: checks his console with the updated targeting data and begins running his weapon control system. "Well Henri, time to do what I do."
[2010-11-11 20::27:47] Ruru_Fields: eeerrrrfffss. "Shit... fucking..." She scratches at her neck. "Wha- what's happening?" She asks as her heart flutters...
[2010-11-11 20::30:29] Ruru_Fields: There is a blink then the drugs hit her, euphoria, dopamine, seratonins. "ooohhh... th-that's the stuff..." She says a little dileriously and pulls up her rifle, forcing the rest of her AT field against her antagonist and then fires.
[2010-11-11 20::43:21] John_Kilanger: Charges at the creature in order to come to Ruru's aid. Bringing his spear to bear as he strikes.
[2010-11-11 20::44:25] Doink: The creature spins, moving with sudden and unnatural grace, swatting at John's spear with its long arms and deflecting the blow
[2010-11-11 20::51:40] John_Kilanger: After seeing his blow get so easily defelcted by the mighty monster, John feels the enescapeable urge to run away "Damn it, why is my spear so useless?"
[2010-11-11 20::55:03] Kazimir_Prochazka_: watches as John engages the monstrosity, and hears him over the radio as his spear is deflected. Just as he sees an opening, John's Unit 02 drops it's arm and spear within his field of view. A quick jerk of the rifle as he squeezes the trigger puts a few rounds into the creatures leg. Not a spectacular shot, but it'll do.
[2010-11-11 20::55:50] Kazimir_Prochazka_: "John, because you're part of a fire team. Without you, I don't get shots. Without me, You get torn up. Just keep it busy and we'll take it down."
[2010-11-11 20::56:10] Kazimir_Prochazka_: then more softly adds: "Or Ruru will come in and take our kill..."
[2010-11-11 20::59:39] Doink: The beast staggers backwards from the blows to its leg. The snow swirls up around it. It's outline, already vague against the backdrop of white, fades out until imperceptible.

[2010-11-11 21::09:27] Henri_DEllaine: drops the hand cannon, shifting his progressive spear into the eva's main hand. As he stares into the clouds looking for the beast, he forces his AT field out to neutralize its stench hanging in the air.
[2010-11-11 21::09:37] Doink: Without warning, the wind -stops-.
[2010-11-11 21::10:04] Doink: Tons of snow, now no longer held aloft by gale-force winds, begin to float slowly towards the ground.
[2010-11-11 21::10:28] Henri_DEllaine: is taken aback by the sudden change, not really having been doing anything thus far.
[2010-11-11 21::10:41] Kazimir_Prochazka_: "Huh. Neat trick Henri."
[2010-11-11 21::11:06] Henri_DEllaine: "Well, that never happened in training..."
[2010-11-11 21::11:59] Doink: With a sickening -twist- of space the creature appears again, standing stock-still within the falling torrent of snow.
[2010-11-11 21::12:29] Doink: It wasn't just the snow, you see. It's actual FORM is hazy and ill-defined, as if made of ice and wind itself
[2010-11-11 21::12:37] Kazimir_Prochazka_: "HUH. VERY neat trick..."
[2010-11-11 21::13:25] Doink: Its core is also visible, the same sickly shifting glow emerging from inside its swirling midsection
[2010-11-11 21::15:10] Doink: Down in the Command Bunker. Commander Carter sighs wearily. "I suppose it is that time already."
[2010-11-11 21::18:53] Dmitriy_Platonov: "John, stop running! Hope it'll help you!" - Dmitriy orders, while dispensing some tranquliziers to John. - "Kaz, here's updated targeting data, aim for the core! Aim for the core, everyone! All conventional forces, FIRE AT WILL!" - and VTOLs and tanks unleash a hail of fire.
[2010-11-11 21::20:30] Doink: The creature screams as it is hit with shot after shot. It's form begins to spasm, becoming less and less coherent with each hit.
[2010-11-11 21::21:48] Dmitriy_Platonov: Before the target's form shifts, the awful truth finally hits Dmitriy's mind. He realises now, what is they fighting against.
[2010-11-11 21::28:39] Ruru_Fields: brings her gun towards the shimemr of core and fires singing "Ikarosu no you na muku na yuuki wo nakushite ima ikiteru bokura. Sore nari no hibi wo sore nari ni tada sugoshite hatena wo nigirishimeteru. Kotae wo sagasu to meiro ni naru~" Unde her breath as she takes the time to line up the shot and plugs the whisper-clear form she is tasked ith killing.
[2010-11-11 21::30:09] Doink: The avatar begins to shift and morph, his limbs dividing and splitting, slowly losing its bipedal form.
[2010-11-11 21::30:33] Doink: Bits of white fly off it as shot after shot impact its form.
[2010-11-11 21::40:37] John_Kilanger: Drops his spear and readies his Hand Cannon. "Fine then, if the spear won't cut it, then let's try THIS!" John aims at the core and fires a single shot at it.
[2010-11-11 21::41:35] Doink: The battleship-caliber shell pierces the exposed core dead-center.
[2010-11-11 21::41:47] Doink: The creature ceases its writhing
[2010-11-11 21::42:08] Doink: Bits of ice fall to the ground in a hazy cloud of white
[2010-11-11 21::42:20] Kazimir_Prochazka_: "That's what I'm talking about John!"
[2010-11-11 21::42:49] Doink: And, with a clink, the core fragments, bits and pieces, flying off into all directions, phasing through solid objects as before as they fade off into the distance.
[2010-11-11 21::42:53] Ruru_Fields: hmmmms and says. "Okay. Sleeping now."
[2010-11-11 21::43:11] Mia_al-Misiri: "Are we finished?"
[2010-11-11 21::43:20] Mia_al-Misiri: fumbles around with her AT field again.
[2010-11-11 21::43:41] Henri_DEllaine: is speachless.
[2010-11-11 21::43:44] Dmitriy_Platonov: stares at the screen with a pale face. His arms are shaking a little, but he tries to remain calm. Then he sees the end of that horror and mutters into the microphone in a completely dead voice: "Pilots. Good work. Return to the base."
[2010-11-11 21::43:47] Doink: The Evas are left, standing atop the hillside, the setting sun outlining them above the snowcovered streets of Arkham
[2010-11-11 21::44:04] John_Kilanger: just looks on with a look of befuddlement

[2010-11-11 21::44:51] Henri_DEllaine: "Well... guess we're all full of surprises today... Great fucking shot, John."
[2010-11-11 21::45:38] Doink: In the command bunker, Commander Carter gets to his feet. "Dmitry, I am leaving you in charge of the cleanup." He looks tired and resigned.
[2010-11-11 21::45:50] John_Kilanger: "Maybe Kaz was on to something about using guns now and then..."
[2010-11-11 21::45:53] Kazimir_Prochazka_: "I don't want to say I told you so...but...bullets beat spears."

[2010-11-11 21::46:12] Ruru_Fields: turns off the coms systems and curls up again, shuddering and waiting for the drugs in her systems to calm down, whimpering and nuzzling at the upholstery as she murmurs to her Eva.

[2010-11-11 21::49:17] Kazimir_Prochazka_: shoulders his rifle and begins walking towards the lifts. "Well, I was late to help, and I'm still cold. I'll meet you all back inside."
[2010-11-11 21::49:29] Henri_DEllaine: somehow manages to make a crude snowball with the controls and tosses it towards Mia, missing. "Hey! Mia, it's time to go home"
[2010-11-11 21::49:45] Doink: Carter turns before he leaves the bunker. "Oh, and please get the pilots back as soon as possible. Preparing a proper media leak to explain all this will be hard enough without a bunch of 'amateur photographs' floating around"
