User called and said she couldn't connect to the wireless on her Mac.
I asked a series of questions and found that she brought her Mac desktop running 10.4 to Sherman hall at 9PM on a sunday night the day before Labor Day, and had it set up on a desk in a hallway, not anywhere near an ethernet port.
I tried to get her connected to UB_Secure or UB_Wireless, but both of them rejected her ubit name every time she tried to connect.
Had her turn the airport on and off, restarted the computer, nothing.
She said she could log in to MyUB on a different computer, but I had trouble believing her.
I tried setting up the UB_Secure profile for her airport, but the older version didn't have the tabs and options that we needed for it, and she didn't have a clue.
At this point I told her that the backwards compatability with our wireless and 10.4 is shaky at best, so she should try to talk to her node support and get them to help her. Sometime when they're open instead of 9PM sunday night before Labor Day.
