The quote, “Progression is not possible without sacrifice”, speaks for itself entirely and is absolutely correct. Almost everything that you want to do to move forward requires some sort of sacrifice, or giving up. Whether it’s from giving up a little time, or giving up a year, it all is needed to progress. For example, soldiers sacrifice so much in order to keep their country safe. Inventors spend hours each day to improve their invention. As well as singers and celebrities who give up their childhood and school to perform. These sacrifices that people make ultimately lead them to progression, even for better or for worse.
As said above, soldiers are thousands of miles away from their home to help progress their country into peace while also always being at risk of danger. If the time comes to fight, they have to no matter what the consequences are. The sacrifices they make ensure that everyone is safe and that makes them that much closer to their goal. The soldiers are giving up so much to help everyone in need. Without the soldiers and their sacrifices, the world would be in chaos.
Also, inventors spend restless days and heaps of money into what they believe can help people’s lives. For example, inventor Marc Griffin spent nearly his whole life on a single invention that did not come out so well, but he still believes in it. Marc spent twenty six years of his life, including drastic measures such as quitting his job and selling his wife’s wedding ring, on an invention called BulletBall. His goal was for it to become an official Olympic sport. Although he got somewhere on his invention, it was not what he had imagined for how much he gave up. Marc sacrificed so much to keep going on and on. If he had not given up all his possessions, he would have not been able to go anywhere with his invention.
On the other hand, rich and famous people have given up a lot too. Widely known, Michael Jackson had made a fair share of his own sacrifices to become as known as he is today. His sacrifices were not something physical and something you can’t get back. He gave up his whole childhood including school to sing and perform. Michael started singing and performing for The Jackson 5 in the 1960s, before he was even a teenager. This led him to miss out on what it would feel like to go to school. He did all this because he wanted to carry on his dream of becoming a singer. This dream, as we all know, indeed became a success. Without the sacrifices in the first place, he would of never became as known as he is now.
In the end, it is impossible to seek progression without any sacrifices. Soldiers sacrifice their safety and their time with their family to protect their country. Also, inventors, such as Marc Griffin, spend their whole day and a lot, if not all, of their money into their invention. Finally, people such as Michael Jackson give up some part of their life, whether it is from their childhood or whether it is always being on tour and never seeing their family. All these sacrifices that have been made helped them to progress one step closer into what they want to achieve.
