>the sun peeking through the curtains woke our young heroine up this morning, beginning what would be a very eventful day for her

>Asuka was the daughter of the local innkeeper here in the village of Booben, which was run by her parents and her grandfather

>working at the inn was pleasant, seeing the smiling faces of guests as they came and went

>but Asuka had bigger dreams, dreams that extended beyond even the limits of this village

>ever since she was young, the tales of her grandfather's noteworthy achievements as an knight and commander inspired Asuka to go out on her own herself

>occasionally when she overheard some guests talking about their own travels she'd ask if they minded sharing them, and listen intently to every line

>and every story simply fueled the fire inside her

>and the day had finally came, her basic self defense training as over, and she had saved up a fair bit of money to prepare herself

>her parents had suggested she try simply battling some monsters in the nearby forest for now, rather than run off and try to handle a proper quest

>she was trained to use basic magic as well as a simple sword and shield, and encouraged to see which one she felt most comfortable with

>so first she decided to don the robes they got for her and try out being a Mage

>before she trained in whatever she happened to be wearing that day, so she took a moment to model the outfit for herself in the mirror

>something about wearing actual gear gave her a bubbly feeling in her stomach, one of "yes, this is finally happening"

>the staff she used during training was the type of old, curved branch you'd see being held by an old witch in a fairy tale

>but this one was made of metal, with a large green gem resting on top

>when she picked it up the gem began to glow faintly, surprising and impressing her

>once she was set, she gave her family a thankful hug and a wave goodbye as she ventured out to the forest

>she wasn't wandering long before Asuka ran into a lone wolfgirl

>taking a moment to prepare herself, Asuka took some deep breaths and tried to calm her nerves, "Alright, it's time. Time to put your training to use"

>Asuka formed a triangle with her fingers, making sure that she could see the beast through it as she chanted, preparing a fire spell

>her enemy had begun to move, quickly closing in on her with their claws raised

>beads of sweat began to form on Asuka brow as they got closer, during training she never noticed how long cast times for spells were, but having an enemy rush her made her very aware

>as the monstergirl leaped to clear the last bit of distance between them the spell was completed, a ball of fire flaring out from between Aska's fingers and tossing her foe back

>the spell was enough to subdue the beast, it laying completely still on the ground long after the magical flames had vanished

>Asuka hunched over, catching her breath as she calmed down, "Man, using magic seems risky..."

>her moment of rest was interrupted, however, when she saw five more wolfgirls emerge from the bushes around her

>"Wh-what the!?", in a moment she was surrounded

>the wolves took a moment to size up their prey, Asuka frantically trying to think of a course of action

>everyone present, however, was surprised to hear the intensifying sound of a girl shouting

>"Coming through!", they all turned to see a blonde monk in a blue cheongsam coming at them, dismissing two of the wolves with a kick

>the last wolf fell to the floor, the monk stretching out her legs as Asuka sank to her knees from tiredness

>"Ahh, that was a nice warmup. Hey, are you alright?", they turned to out young mage

>Asuka scrambled up to her feet to give them a bow,"Thank you so much, you saved me back there!"

>"Oh, it was nothing. I heard something from this was and thought I'd check it out. You work at the inn, right? I knew I knew ya from somewhere"

>"Y-yeah, that's me",Asuka blushed at being recognized,"I was putting my magic training to the test"

>"Oh, magic? That takes a lot of commitment", the monk, for some reason, snuck up on Asuka and grabbed her by her breasts,"it's not easy to make being a lone spellcaster work, you know? Without someone like me to stand behind enemies can go right for you"

>I-I get that now, but did you really need to grab my breasts to show me that!"

>the brunette poked at her chest with the butt of her rifle, "Had enough yet, you cow?"

>the dancer skated up to her teammate, "Oh, oh, call me a cow next! Please~"

>she knocks her back with a quick slap, the blonde falling onto her butt with glee

>when they turn back to their victim, they instead find our heroine standing between them, her shield raised

>"And who are you supposed to be?"

>I am Asuka of the Hatorri Inn!", she announced

>a that moment, something from her grandfather's stories flashed to the front of her memory

>Asuka raised her sword and pointed it at her opponent, getting them to back up to avoid the blade

>"And for the sake of justice, I will not abide you!"

>"Wha, what is this?", Ryoubi was almost intimidated by the threat, raising her rifle to prepare for a battle

>as she began to raise her weapon, the adrenaline in Asuka's veins drove her to rush forward, pushing her foe onto their butt with her shield

>"Augh!", they quickly scrambled onto their feet,"Fuck this, let's just go"

>Asuka maintained her stance as the brunette retreated into the crowd, the blonde following her

>once the crowd began dispersing, she finally spun around to check on the girl she was protecting

>"Hey, are you okay?", Asuka offered them a hand to help them up

>Asuka's grandfather was able to watch the entire scene unfold from the inn, their pride swelling as they watched her handle herself
