  6. GENERAL INFORMATION
  7. The United States Secret Service is tasked with the primary protection of the President, Vice President, and all other peoples who the President or Vice President wish to be protected.
  8. The United States Secret Service is also tasked with keeping areas safe and doing so through the Uniformed Division. The Uniformed Division (UD) consist of Counter Assault Team (CAT) and Emergency Response Team (ERT). While as these UD agents are not assigned to a specific task, they default to the primary protection along with Probationary Agents, Senior Agents, and Special Agents.
  9. There are three major divisions of the Secret Service. We have the Presidential Protection Detail (PPD), Vice Presidential Protection Detail (VPPD), and the Uniformed Division (UD). As these are our major divisions, we will have a Special Agent in Charge for each of them.

  11. SECRET SERVICE ORGANIZATION
  12. The Secret Service has multiple ranks, ranging from Probationary Agent to Director. The following will tell you how our ranks are organized.
  13. Director- Director of the Secret Service; 1
  14. Deputy Director- Deputy of Secret Service; 1
  15. Special Agent in Charge- Division leaders/Advisors; 4-5
  16. Presidential Protection Detail- Protection Detail for President; 5-12
  17. Vice Presidential Protection Detail- Protection Detail for VP; 5-12
  18. Uniformed Division- ERT, CAT, MSU, CST; 6-14
  19. Special Agent- Placed agents to help control Probationary Agents; 3-4
  20. Senior Agent- Agents who come come out of Probationary Agent; 7-8

  25. Without having to be actually told, you can already assume the President, Vice President, and White House Chief of Staff are VIPs. The following list are indirect VIPs that we would usually protect by RANK
  26. Speaker of the House/President Pro Tempore
  27. White House Staff
  28. Senators
  29. House of Representatives
  30. Assigned Foreign Ambassadors

  32. OVERALL AUTHORITY
  33. Within the Secret Service, there are certain authorities that are allowed to supervise other agents. The following list states all that are “Supervisors”

  38. JOB AS A SENIOR AGENT
  39. As a Senior Agent, your job is to fill in for agents in divisions when they are absent from duty or fired. Senior Agents are also agents who have not been drafted into a specific division and act as Protection Detail agents.

  41. JOB AS A PROBATIONARY AGENT
  42. As a Probationary Agent, this means your a new agents and you are on probation to see if you know what to do. These agents are usually at this rank for 3 to 9 days and then get promoted to Senior Agent. These agents are not allowed on the Secret Service team without the presence of a Special Agent, Special Agent in Charge, Deputy Director, or Director.

  44. JOB AS A SPECIAL AGENT
  45. As a Special Agent, you overlook the activity of Senior Agents and Probationary Agents. You report everything you see from the Senior and Probationary Agents. This job is a high responsibility, and is a supervisor job. People with this rank are expected to report to Special Agents in Charge and up.

  47. HOW DO WE PROTECT
  48. While protecting a VIP, our main priority is the VIP. When protecting a VIP, you need to keep notice of your surroundings. Anyone who is not authorized by the VIP or is not Secret Service does not enter the Security Bubble. When a gun is presented by a hostile, we have the right to kill or detain.

  53. As a Secret Service Agent, we use a vast selection of formations to make sure our VIP is safe. Our default formation for protecting a VIP is “Square Formation” The following list will tell you the other formations we use.

  61. PROTOCOLS
  62. The most important thing for a Secret Service agent to do is follow all of our protocols. Although we can’t list all of our protocols here as they are sensitive to the safety of our VIPs, this list will give you a sense on some.
  63. Perimeter 1-1: All non-security agents must be scanned for weapons before being allowed near a VIP
  64. Communication 1-1: All Agents are required to use team radio when communicating between agents
  65. Threat 1-1: Threats while a VIP is in server should be taken seriously. Depending on the Threat appropriate action should be taken.
  66. Code Green or C1 displays a VIP is not at potential risk of being physically harmed by an assassin or criminal. It could also display no current threats or criminal activity is occurring while a VIP is in the server.
  67. Code Yellow or C2 displays a VIP could potentially be harmed by an assassin or criminal. It could also display multiple crime reports or threats in the server towards the VIP.

  69. JOBS WITHIN USA
  70. As an agent of this Secret Service, you are not allowed to obtain any job that is not part of the Homeland Security. Meaning you can not be LVPD, FBI, USMS, Etc..
