275.
The youngest of five children and the only boy in the family, there was always special attention aimed at Harold. When he began school and he excelled in all his class, his mothers always knew he was destined for great things. Hal, however, had his sights on something some people would consider unusual. Living in Carson City, they were always around big personalities. So when little Hal began to show a strong interest in the paranormal, his mothers assumed that it was a passing phase. They soon came to realize that it wasn't.

 276.
 277.
Harold was always a bright kid. He was clumsy and sheepish and often the target of bullying, but that never stopped Hal from holding his head up. Never did he let the bullying get to him and in a way, it helped him develop a thick skin. Even at a young age, he knew that his brains were going to take him places that those bullies could never even dream of. He grew up not having many friends, yet he never minded. Having four older sisters was all he needed. Besides, it helped him focus on his studies and his paranormal interests.

 278.
 279.
Graduating top of his class, Harold managed to get himself enough scholarships and grants to go to his school of his dreams - NYU. There, Hal majored in physics, loving the subject and knowing it helped in his paranormal research. During his freshmen year in college, he met Louis who also happened to have a love for the paranormal. The two bonded over their little ghost stories and soon, they became best friends. Over the years, the joked about starting a team that actually hunted down ghosts. Even when Hal went on to become a college professor over at Colombia University, he and Louis still talked about starting a ghost hunting team and soon, they did.

 280.
 281.
They went by the name of The Ghostbusters and it was just the two of them. As one would assume, they were taken as a big joke, no one taking them seriously. Most calls they received were either jokes or no ghosts were actually present. It took months until someone finally did. Finally, they had a job and boy was it a job indeed. A woman had been possessed by a ghost that had been haunting the building for quite some time. Just when things had seemed too hard to handle, Hal was able to save the woman. That woman would later become his wife.

 282.
 283.
Hal had been completely infatuated with Eliza from the moment they met and somehow he had managed to ask her out and by some miracle, she said yes. Later she would say yes to marrying him - an even greater miracle. Eliza had joined the Ghostbusters when they got engaged and with that, her siblings joined. Jillian became their head engineer and Kevin became their receptionist.

 284.
 285.
After The Ghostbusters had saved Eliza, proving they were the real thing, they had become much more famous and they were finally taken seriously. It was why Hal hadn't mind the extra jump in members. They needed it after they began to get more real ghost calls. What once felt like a pipe dream became the best thing to ever happen to Hal. He still taught at Colombia, he got to hunt actual ghosts with people he loved, and he was married to the most perfect woman ever - he couldn't be happier.
