  1. Fictional Fragment Merger Experiment One
  2. I have power, but no character, and it hurts every time I think about it. It’s probably why I don't often think about it the way I do now. I have history, but no identity. I have skill, but no personality. I have ability, but no motivation. I have no goal, I guess that's because I already achieved one goal, that was many others.
  3. I wanted power, and now I have it, in both variety and abundance. Power exist to be exercised or to discourage other people. A power hungry person would lord his new powers over people, make people do what he or she wants, or do just anything they please themselves. What would a nerd do if they have superpowers though? Would a nerd with superpowers become a super hero: like Peter Parker becoming Spiderman, Or Sydney Scoville becoming Halo? Would a nerd with superpowers become a supervillain: like Control Freak from the animated Teen Titans, or Codpiece from Doom Patrol? I've thought about it long and hard, and the answer is no.
  4. If you give a nerd superpowers he's gonna try and get laid, or goof off. If you make a nerd build and earn his superpowers he is going to sit around thinking and deliberating whether or not it is ethical to use his new abilities to get laid, until he comes up with the least distasteful way of using is power to engage in sex. If he gets super powers either way and loses control over them he's going to get laid, and might transform into a monster. Keep in mind that monster is a relative term that could mean several things. The bottom line is if you're a nerd and you have super powers, you’re going to have a lot of sex. It happened to Peter Parker. It happened to Bruce Banner. It happened to D.E.N., and the only super power he got was instantaneous, enhanced, classic masculinity via interdimensional travel (yeah, I don’t understand that either). It even happened in My Super Ex-Girlfriend. So again, and in a simplified version, nerd plus superpower equals sex, or, N+SP=SEX. It’s a common fantasy that arises from both wishful thinking and insecurities, or worse, fear. I've seen it in too much hentai to believe I'm the only one to think of it. People fear being bad in bed, regardless of status. But that's for another thought experiment.
  5. So what kind of nerd are we observing today? The frequent odd one out. The bespeckeld boy. The twig in elementary and junior high school, but the fatty in high school and college. Why the sudden transition though? He lived west of the mississpi and needed a car to go anywhere, including the fast food resturants. The boy shrunken by psychologist that couldn't decide what was wrong with him, but were more than willing to give him so many drugs that he refuses to take any more, even if he's scared he needs them. The boy pushed and punished by his former athletic father to and past the breaking point, repeatedly, during his childhood. Bullied in elementary school because he was sensitive and bespeckled, and therefore easily hurt. Bullied in junior high school because he got into fights that ruined his reputation and made everyone think he was a future school shooter. Bullied in high school because it was a small school, small than any he’d been to previously because it was a charter school, and no one had seen a mixed race kid, so they took turns trying to figure out what slur was most appropriate for him, cracker, nigger, shit-skin, and the like. He was never bullied because he was smart, and often he wasn't, but because he had traits that were unwanted, and therefore he was unwanted. This was something he knew for a long time. The idea of being an unlikable nerd made him very wary, wary of everyone. When he was young, in elementary school, before he was smart enough to pick out all of the unrealistic elements out of the fiction and media he was presented with he let it influence his already sad and cynical view. Once you're hated you will always be hated, and there's no changing that. "Best keep to yourself, away from anyone that could harm you. And if anyone does harm you, even if they are stronger or above you, attack them, maim them, maul them." this manner of thought started in elementary school, but this manner of thought didn't make itself known to the outside world until middle school. No wonder people thought he was dangerous after a few fights, the police had to talk to him in the principal's office twice for Christ's sake. This led to a new line of thought. "If you won’t kill yourself, they will. So either end it now, or keep your head down." This line of thought lasted through high school and into junior college. And what line of thought came into his mind then? "I'm not happy or motivated to live. If i keep walking this path life will be long, more disappointing than it already is, and more painful with every passing second."
  6. No new line of thought replaced his way of thinking. Because I'm still thinking it. This line of thought led me to acquire power, but not to use it. I could guess that I don't trust myself to be moral, and that seems right, given the memory of my thoughts. So that's the particular nerd we are dealing with; A standard mulatto millennial.
  7. So What are my superpowers? Magic, technical skills, and martial arts training, and in that order. Well what are my magics, and what are their logics. It is complicated, but it can be simplified.
  8. The internal logic of the magic system I have devised is as follows;
  9. I have a soul, a core of chaos contained in order. Chaos is spiritual potential, and as such anything can come from it. Order is spiritual focus, form, function, purpose, and identity. I have a soul and I have control over it, allowing me to control its form, actions, and emissions.
  10. Coming back from the dead in various forms is the ability most closely related to control over the soul, but not the easiest to use or understand.
  11. The soul generates one energy that allows for numerous abilities and actions. The wide range of options required that they be organized into an art of many techniques. One energy is confused for two, and while I know that they are one, it is convenient to keep them divided. The energy allows for psychic powers and Ki manipulation.
  12. Psychic powers and Ki Manipulation both allow for and bleed into elemental magics. In this elements are not atomic or chemical, it is the constituent of an art or system. There are thirty-one to thirty-seven elements organized and reduced into eight skill trees. One of the elements is weather which allows for control of weather, and generation of mana, which is made quite redundant by the fact that one of the elements is mana. Mana, the Malaysian, Polynesian, and New Zealandish interpersonal force that controlled fate turned into a generic magic force and spell fuel by 20th century authors and game designers. Another element is machines, which is explicitly paralleled by the element of animals. The element of animals allows one to take the abilities of animals, both the ones that they actually possess and the ones totemically ascribed to them, to control animals, to communicate with them, and to turn into animals. The element of machines allows one to take the abilities of machines, both the ones that the machines possess and the ones that we hypothesize that they might, to control machines, to communicate with them, and to turn into machines. It is important to note that the element of machines includes all machines, simple, compound, and complex: a lever, a sword, and a city.
  13. Ki more easily than psycho leads into the power that is labelled pure energy, as it does so both directly and through the elemental magics. It is called pure energy as it is confused for one, singular, energy, instead of being all energies. Kinetic energy, Potential energy, Mechanical Energy, Mechanical Wave Energy, Mechanical Process Energy, Chemical Energy, Heat Energy, Thermal Energy (Yes there is a difference between heat and thermal energies. Heat is macroscopic, and thermal is microscopic), Gravitational Potential Energy, Magnetic Energy, Radiant Energy, Electrical Energy, Ionization Energy, Nuclear Energy, and Rest Energy.
  14. It, this magic system, is very much, in retrospect, new age, and I am ashamed that I didn’t realize that as I developed it. Inherently multicultural but drawing from European and Asian traditions only. Takes advantage and control of modern science and technology. And made almost completely for the modern age.
  15. These magics oddly led to developing technical skills that are rooted in science. Ki allows for one to enhance their physical abilities, and in this case speed and endurance. The superhuman speed and endurance allowed me to study faster and longer than anyone else, and the esoteric element of time allowed me to work on several projects at once and in fractions of the time normally required for said projects. These magics and technical skills combined are what allowed me to study martial arts on my terms, as that was a necessity. Humans often didn’t have the patience for my frequent stupidity and lack of focus. And my frequent motivation or rapid ego depletion is what really set them off. So I built a gym and bio-mechanical robots, both androids and gynoids, and programmed them with information telepathically copied from a multitude of instructors, both civilian and military. With the construction completed, and tested numerous times, I trained until I was satisfied with my martial prowess. And then I got into both bar fights and street fights, before going into tournaments that allowed for amateur entrances. And then I went back to training. And this became cyclical. Whether this cycle is virtuous or vicious is undecided. If it makes this easier to understand, I could justifiably compare myself to a combination of Harry Potter (Or Harry Dresden, as our magics are more similar, but he is less well known), then Dexter McPherson (The titular character from Dexter’s Lab), and then finally Equius Zahhak from Homestuck.
  16. Well I think that’s a sufficient explanation of my powers for now, but leaves one question unanswered.
  17. How the fuck am I going to turn these powers to the purpose of sexual gratification? They aren’t sexy in the slightest! Good fucking god. A bit more thought could remedy this. I’ll just have to take this into careful consideration.
  18. What do you get when you combine the psychic power of teleportation and control over the esoteric element of machinery? Several things are possible. Two of these possibilities are digitization of mass, and the materialization of data. You could turn a person into data and store them away until the data degrades, or you could turn a program into a person to interact with the rest of the universe.
  19. And through this I think that I have found a creative and easily erotic use of my art. And of all the potential actions afforded to me by my power that are morally ambiguous and reprehensible this action is the least outrageous or harmful. Save for potentially another, that could be absolutely horrifying if done wrong. The other possibilities are so cruel, disgusting, or exploitative for me to only think about them. The psychic powers of bio-psychokinesis, the ability to control biomass in anyway with the mind, and telepathic mind control would allow me to remake any person as I so desire and choose, and this would strip them of all identity. Control of the esoteric element of heart allows for control over all emotions, and other related sensations and urges that a being can experience, and would allow me to control another's attraction, lust, passion, and attachment, but that could be similar to the dubious consent of sleeping with an intoxicated person while sober, the atrocity of date rape, or the evil of brain washing. Infusing a person with power and then using that power to tie them, to entangle them, to employ them to me is to extort them. I could create various sexualized embodiments of the elements that my art lets me control, and that could work out, or could be absolutely horrific. Creating human elemental embodiments of the classical four elements of fire, air, water and earth could be gratifiying, or taxing, or injurious and fatal at worst. Think about it: For example, the embodiment of fire could easily be a passionate and lively red headed woman that is very lustful if she isn’t composed of physical or spiritual fire, but she could also burn everything she touches. What about the stranger esoteric and mystic elements? Take poison for example: the poison element would harm herself, but if she were to use her powers on you what would she use that wouldn’t kill you. She could create caffeine, which is a naturally occurring insecticide that isn’t poisonous to humans, but can lead to premature ejaculation indirectly. And she could only enjoy that if she would enjoy taunting you over the humiliation she caused. What about other naturally occurring alkaloids, like… morphine or lysergic acid? Best to avoid that stuff.
