  1. HOW TO ADD MUSIC SLOTS IN SM4SH WITHOUT REPLACING ANYTHING
  2.
  3. PREREQUISITES:
  4. - the latest version of Sm4shExplorer - https://gbatemp.net/threads/sm4shexplorer-wii-u-only-for-now.416118/ and the latest version of Sm4shMusic (included in S4E)
  5.
  6. 1. Download a nus3bank from smashcustommusic by navigating to a song and using this structure: http://smashcustommusic.com/nus3bank/[ID of the song]/snd_bgm_[Game]_[Song Title]. So if I wanted to download Project M's theme, I'd put it like this: http://smashcustommusic.com/nus3bank/51418/snd_bgm_PM_MenuTheme. (The snd_bgm_ is important! The rest of it is not AFAIK.)
  7. 2. Put this into sm4shexplorer>workspace>content>sound>bgm
  8. 3. Open up Sm4shExplorer and go to Plugins > Sm4shMusic.
  9. 4. On the left, you'll see a bunch of BGM tracks. Look at the bottom, and hit Add.
  10. 5. You should now see a blank entry, with TEST05 as the Main BGM. Awesome! Time to start.
  11. 6. Enter the title (eg. "Menu (Project M)") as the Title and Title Soundtest.
  12. 7. Enter the game/source where the song is from (eg. Project M) as the Source
  13. 8. In the main BGM, enter in the filename of the nus3bank, without the snd_bgm_ part. So in this instance, I'd put PM_MenuTheme.
  14. 9. The other settings should be pretty self-explanatory, you can set it to be a DLC sound if you want to, etc.
  15. Here are some outlines on the settings that may not be clear:
  16. - Sound Test Order places the song in Sound Test in whatever place you want it to be.
  17. - Stage Edit Order is for Stage Builder and groups the song with the rest of the series' songs for choosing a song to play on a custom stage.
  18. - Background Rotation is also for Sound Test. The Characters will move around in the background of the song information.
  19. - Rotation Behavior is for how frequent the songs would rotate on the stages.
  20. MAKE SURE "IN SOUNDTEST" IS CHECKED!
  21. 10. On the top left, click on the My Music tab. Scroll down to the stage where you want to add the song to. In this case, it's "73 - Menu".
  22. 11. Under Sound DB, you'll see a drop down menu. Find the song you added and hit the Add button next to it. It'll ask you to add it to the MyMusic as well, do so.
  23. 12. You should be done, go to File > Compile the modifications.
  24. 13. Close Sm4shMusic and go to Project > Build the mod.
  25. 14. Then go to Sm4shExplorer>export>release>content and copy and paste the folder onto your SD card, onto [number folder]
  26. [Number folder] being your region's disc:
  27. USA/NTSC - 0005000010144F00
  28. EU/PAL - 0005000010145000
  29. JP/NTSC-JP - 0005000010110E00
  30. 15. Put your SD card into your Wii U
  31. 16. Run kernel and SDCafiine through http://loadiine.ovh (or whatever method you prefer) on your Wii U and enjoy!
  32. EXTRA TIDBITS:
  33. * If you wanna know the list of stages in sm4shmusic, check here: http://pastebin.com/Py1Resws
  34. * Always either use CoreGameSound or UpdateSound for the Sound Source. The rest of them will not show up in game. I recommend just using CoreGameSound.
  35. * You can currently have 40 songs per stage.
  36. * VGMStream not loading *does not matter* if you want to add slots. All that does is preview your nus3banks so you can play them back and listen to them. You can add slots just fine without them.
