  1. DRAKUL
  2.
  3. Background: A progenitor vampire, born from a deal between a human and a devil. The ritual required to sign the deal is mind-boggling for anyone without a profound knowledge of the dark arts, which means all Drakul are highly skilled at casting hexes and curses. The Drakul's bite can swiftly curse women into becoming lesser vampires, and her blood is capable of doing the same thing, even to men.
  4.
  5. The ritual has never been described in full detail, but allegedly, it can be performed only by women and it has drastic effects in their physiology. The skin goes pale, the veins begin to show, and the fangs grow larger and pointed. It can also bring eternal youth even to the oldest of hags, and seems to give them a fertile figure, with thick thighs and supple breasts.
  6.
  7. The Drakul survives on a diet of human blood only, and surrounds herself with her faithful brood. They cater to her whims, and when she's hurt or can't risk leaving her lair, they bring in live prey for her, or even offer their own blood to her. In turn, she protects them from harm, and when her hunts are successful, she allows her children to drink from her own body.
  8.
  9. Courtship:
  10.
  11. Drakul have an idea of love warped by their biological needs. They are picky eaters, and if they don't enjoy the flavor of a human's blood, they're likely to see them as just another meal. However, when a man's taste really hits the spot for them, they're known to steal them away and keep them imprisoned for special occasions. It's speculated that when men grow bitter towards them, so does their blood, spoiling its taste, after which they're kicked out of the lair, naked and without any of their belongings.
  12.
  13. According to several of these prisoners' accounts, the Drakul acts in a flirtatious, domineering way, but is rarely hostile towards her men. With a sultry demeanor, she's as likely to demand blood out of the prisoners as she's likely to demand sex. If he underperforms, she will pump her venom straight into his bloodstream, which, among other things, can turn painful sensations into pleasurable ones, and hastens the blood flow, resulting on one's member engorging beyond what's normal. Sometimes, though, she demands nothing but the warm embrace of a human body against her cold skin.
  14.
  15. It's theorized that just as a man's blood can go bitter if he resents the Drakul's deeds, it can also become all the sweeter if he loves her back despite what she did to him. It's also said that they crave the taste of fear itself, and often pounce on their beloved from the shadows to demand love or food out of them.
  16.
  17. General tidbits
  18. The Drakul suffer from the usual vampiric weaknesses to sunlight and holy items, but it seems that their closer connection with the unholy has magnified them. A lesser vampire will lose their powers and eyesight when exposed to the sun, as well as feel an uncomfortable burning sensation. Their masters, though, can burn into ash after a scant few seconds exposed to sunlight.
  19. They're endowed with a hypnotic gaze capable of making their prey drop their guard as soon as they lock eyes with them, and even induce sensory hallucinations if eye contact goes on for too long. Although this seems to be intended mostly a predatory mechanism, they're said to use it to indulge their captives' fantasies in order to keep their blood from spoiling.
  20.
  21. Their connection with their loved ones is often described as motherly. Their haughty attitude towards them stems from a desire to be the one keeping them away from harm and providing for them. Should anything bad happen to their beloved, or any of the members of her brood, they will seek the criminal out and torment them until they break.
