Resilient Session 4

	TheResilientGM	At dawn, friendly troops have moved to forward positions. Under Kass and Hector's watch, a squad of Prithians approaches your makeshift camp by the disabled transport.
	Artem_Gusarov	pulls his cameleoline back and hails them
	TheResilientGM	The squad leader approaches, while his men form a perimeter.
	TheResilientGM	"Who's in charge?" he asks, looking around at the debris left behind from the destroyed mortar battery.
	Artem_Gusarov	points to the sarge
	Kass_Yonova	"That would be Sergeant Mauler, sir."
	TheResilientGM	Out of the chimera steps the sergeant, eyeing the cautious Prithian troopers with an expression of contempt.
	TheResilientGM	"Nothing's left of them. At ease, you're making /me/ nervous."
	TheResilientGM	The squad leader nods to his men, confirming the order. "Corporal Richter, sir" he saultes.
	Kass_Yonova	adjusts his pack and the sling of his lasgun as he looks on.
	Schneider	looks at one of the guardsman and makes a quiet explosion noise.
	TheResilientGM	"What can I do you for, Corporal? If a taste of battle's what you were looking for, I'm afraid you'll have to wait for the next phase of the assault" Mauler teases the man.
	TheResilientGM	"With respect, sir, we were part of the first assault. Sarge got his head blown off by a sniper."
	TheResilientGM	"So you figured you'd had enough?" Hector chimes in.
	TheResilientGM	The corporal looks at Hector, unamused. "We fell back, to find our supply lines moving up. We helped the Quartermaster set up; order is to resupply and prepare for the next phase of the assault."
	Kass_Yonova	"Guess that means we'll be moving up again soon."
	TheResilientGM	"Corporal," Mauler aknowledges him with a nod.
	TheResilientGM	"Seems to be the case. Everyone, grab your shit, and let's go pay our supply lines a visit."
	TheResilientGM	The sergeant secures his chainsword.
	Kass_Yonova	Kass nods and makes sure he has all his kit on him. "Vikk you got everything?"
	Artem_Gusarov	checks his rifle and shrugs his rucksack on "Better down the rest of that recaff, Oleg."
	TheResilientGM	"Nearly there, Kass..." Vikk appears to scramble for his equipment.
	TheResilientGM	Satisfied with the preparedness of the squad, Mauler signals you to follow.
	Schneider	"Wait so we're going back? We just got out here!"
	TheResilientGM	"Orders are orders. This damned regiment's obsessed with equipping us..."
	Kass_Yonova	follows the sarge.
	Schneider	shrugs and falls into line.
	TheResilientGM	Behind a large rock formation, of the sort you've grown accustomed to on the Northern coast of the archipelago, you find an ingenius setup of chimeras and other transport variants set up together in what resembles a camp of prefab structures.
	TheResilientGM	"Obsessed" the sergeant repeats to himself.
	Kass_Yonova	"Could be worse sir."
	TheResilientGM	You notice, however, in the distance, the large compound destroyed by the airsupport has now been occupied. New communications antennae are visible, and a command bunker has been set up. The front has clearly advanced.
	Schneider	"So what's on the shopping list this time?"
	TheResilientGM	The familiar figure of the Quartermaster stands atop a vehicle. He's taking in requests from the various squad leaders gathered around his supply camp.
	TheResilientGM	"Go away, Eckmann... ask me again, and I'll revoke your heavy weapons!"
	TheResilientGM	Mauler pushes in front of the group. The quartermaster notices him, and signals for the sergeant to join him atop his vehicle.
	TheResilientGM	"Men of the first wave of assault. The sergeant and his men have every right to requisition equipment. YOU still have shine on your boots."
	Artem_Gusarov	raises an eyebrow
	TheResilientGM	The quartermaster whispers something to the sergeant, and points to something behind the vehicle. You see Mauler reach for his commbead. +Come out back+
	TheResilientGM	He dismounts and disappears on the other side.
	Schneider	heads to the back of the vehicle
	TheResilientGM	On the other side, you see a vehicle depot. Adeptus Mechanicus presence is abnormally high, servicing the vehicles and performing rites for the machine god.
	Kass_Yonova	follows Schneider. "Whoa, that's a whole load of cog-boys."

	TheResilientGM	"This one's yours" the Quartermaster points to an unusual chimera variant. Mounted atop is an autocannon, on front, a flamer variant sticks out.

	Artem_Gusarov	"Can anyone drive that?"
	Kass_Yonova	"Gru?"
	Gru_Persay	"By the Machine God, It's beautiful;."
	TheResilientGM	"That's enough, cogboy!" an old man inside yells at an enginseer in the middle of his rites to the Omnissiah.
	Gru_Persay	"Unfortunately, No. I can not drive this blessing."
	TheResilientGM	"This them?" he asks the Quartermaster, without even looking at you.
	TheResilientGM	"This is Gordon... he'll be the one taking you from A to B"
	Kass_Yonova	"Huh, thought you would have."
	TheResilientGM	Mauler explains, "we're to lead an assault on a series of trenches. They seem to have dug in with armor and all"
	TheResilientGM	"Now, while Gordon preps the vehicle, come get your resupply" the quartermaster insists
	Kass_Yonova	"Have any medical gear?"
	TheResilientGM	"Chief Medicae Officer's been given oversight there, corporal. I'd check at the triage center."
	Kass_Yonova	"Thanks." Kass heads over to the triage center, motioning for Vikk to follow.
	Artem_Gusarov	"I guess I could use some krak grenades."
	Schneider	"Got any metlaguns?"
	TheResilientGM	The quartermaster nods, "none freed up, I'm afraid."
	Gru_Persay	"I could use some Krak grenades as well. And perhaps some ammo?
	TheResilientGM	"I'm sure you can make a few exceptions, Franz" the sergeant suggests.
	TheResilientGM	The quartermaster chuckles.
	TheResilientGM	"Go on, then."
	TheResilientGM	The quartermaster makes some adjustments on a dataslate.
	TheResilientGM	"Take the melta, and krak grenades. And of course stock up on ammunition."
	Schneider	grins and grabs the meltagun. "Hector! We're going to kill so many things with this!"
	Gru_Persay	"Oh boy..."
	TheResilientGM	"Fire?!" he asks, eyes opened unnervingly wide.
	Gru_Persay	takes 3 Krak grenades and 3 clips of ammo for shotgun, auto gun, and auto pistol.
	TheResilientGM	At the triage center, it's unfortunately busy. Several wounded are lined up outside waiting for care. On them, parchments indicating the level of urgency and the importance of the wounded's care.
	TheResilientGM	Medicae personell rush all around, a steady flow of men bringing the lined up wounded in, or taking them away to a center with priests giving last rites to those who are beyond help.
	Kass_Yonova	flags down one of the personnel. "Excuse me, who do I see to replenish my medical supplies?"
	TheResilientGM	"CMO Feldmanm, though... I don't know he'll like to be disturbed" he points to a tent.
	Kass_Yonova	"I'll have to take my chances. thanks."
	TheResilientGM	He nods, and rushes off to his duties.
	Kass_Yonova	Kass approaches the tent, and makes his presence known before entering. "CMO Feldmann?"
	TheResilientGM	"If this is about the overflow, you'll have to take it up with Company Command. I can only work with what I'm given."
	Kass_Yonova	"No sir, I just needed to replenish my medical supplies, I was told to see you about it."
	TheResilientGM	"If it weren't for the quartermaster pulling strings to bring in supplies in advance of the Aeronautica base, I would have been obliged to say no. Unfortunately, the shortage is in personnel."
	Kass_Yonova	"If I was currently assigned for the next assault I would offer my help sir, but I'm afraid I'm pressed for time."
	Gru_Persay	Gru repairs and enforces Meat's body.
	TheResilientGM	"Take what you need... corporal is it? Upon your return, I may hold you accountable to your offer."
	Kass_Yonova	"Including the Narthecium, sir? Never used one of those before"
	TheResilientGM	"Give me your word, I'll be able to use you here later, and we have a deal."
	Kass_Yonova	"Of course, sir. So long as my Sergeant doesn't kick my teeth in."
	TheResilientGM	"Use it well. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go beg for more personnel"
	Kass_Yonova	"Yes, thank you, sir."
	TheResilientGM	+..this damned thing+
	TheResilientGM	+Gordon here. She's ready to go. Can you even hear me?+
	Kass_Yonova	+Aye, heading back to the Chimera now.+
	TheResilientGM	+Mauler here. Already on my way. Everyone mount in.+
	Gru_Persay	+Understood. Praise the Omnissiah for this blessing.+
	TheResilientGM	You arrive at the transport, with Mauler waiting outside. Hector is already inside, and Gordon is inside, firing up the engine.
	Kass_Yonova	heads inside, and straps himself in. He then sees about strapping his shiny new Narthecium on his wrist. "Fancy."
	Schneider	gets inside and sits down next to Hector.
	TheResilientGM	Inside the vehicle, there's a compact Vox station. The sergeant gets in and sits closest to it.
	Artem_Gusarov	slings his rifle and gets in
	Gru_Persay	enters the vehicle and commands Meat to follow. He straps Meat down then takes a seat.
	TheResilientGM	+We're all in, Gordon. Roll out.+
	TheResilientGM	As the vehicle moves, Mauler makes use of the Vox. "Yes, sir. No, we still have the Stalker with us... Of course, sir..."
	Kass_Yonova	fiddles with the Narthecium, making sure the auto-injectors are full of various drugs.
	Schneider	"Wait there's a giant flamer on this isn't there?"
	TheResilientGM	+Up front, trooper+
	Schneider	grins and scrambles forward to the flamer.
	TheResilientGM	The morning fog begins to clear on the archipelago, giving enemy spotters the conditions required to begin their work. The sound of artillery fills the air, even as you travel aboard the roaring transport.
	Artem_Gusarov	"Fucking knew the sky was out to get us...", he mumbles
	TheResilientGM	"Very good, sir," the sergeant says, finally disconnecting from the Vox.
	Kass_Yonova	"The sky's only out to get you while those batteries are still going."
	TheResilientGM	"First bit of resistance we get to take out are infantry digging in with autogun emplacements. Problem is, atop the hill they've dug in with armor" the sergeant briefs you.
	Artem_Gusarov	"Emperor damn it I hate tanks. Cogboy, can you spare one krak, at least?"
	Kass_Yonova	"You can have one of mine, not sure I'll be using any."
	TheResilientGM	"Hate to say it, but that also means we get to disembark and get atop that hill to disable those positions, or they'll destroy this transport."
	TheResilientGM	"I already have confirmation of friendly mortar support to conceal our advance through smoke. Someome will have to stay in here to call it in with the Vox station when we need it."
	Kass_Yonova	"We disembarking now, sir?"
	TheResilientGM	"Oh, no. You'll know when the time comes."
	TheResilientGM	You can hear artillery impacting nearer and nearer as you advance to the very front. You can even make out the sound of grenades.
	Kass_Yonova	nods. He unhooks one of his krak grenades and hands it to Artem.
	Artem_Gusarov	takes the grenade "Thanks."
	TheResilientGM	+We have a group of friendlies up ahead getting pinned down by the enemy+ Gordon radios in.
	TheResilientGM	Through an observation port, Mauler has a look outside. "Seems their transport's been hit. They're under heavy fire out there."
	Gru_Persay	+I'll stay behind to operate the Vox+
	Gru_Persay	"Meat. Stay."
	TheResilientGM	"They're taking cover behind the APC. I see enemy hostiles advancing fox-hole jumping their way forward..."
	TheResilientGM	Suddenly, a mortar round strikes near the friendly units, taking out two of them.
	TheResilientGM	"That's going to be a mortar. Single-battery," calls Mauler.
	TheResilientGM	"Alright... Schneider and Gusarov, I need you to find that mortar. Take it out from whatever vantage point you can. We'll cover your approach with smoke."
	Artem_Gusarov	"All right, I'll spot for your long-las and cover you if anyone gets too close."
	TheResilientGM	"Techpriest, see if you can't help them with making repairs out there. Gordon, I'll need you to man that autocannon for fire suppoer, while the rest of us disembark and try to relieve that squad from some of the fire they're drawing."
	Schneider	returns from the front. "Sure ya don't want me on the flamer?"
	TheResilientGM	"For now, yes. Once we come to a stop, join the Vonayan and find that mortar."
	Gru_Persay	"Meat. Follow. Behind."
	Schneider	"Roger"
	TheResilientGM	The servitor growls in aknowledgment.
	TheResilientGM	+Take us closer, Gordon.+
	TheResilientGM	The chimera advances, quickly. Your Operator finds a good position for the autocannon's line of sight and heads to it as fast as the vehicle will allow.
	TheResilientGM	+Enemy squad coming down the hill up ahead, they're attempting to flank.+
	TheResilientGM	"Make them regret that decision, Schinder
	Kass_Yonova	grabs hold of the hull-mounted lasgun and starts firing at the enemy.
	Kass_Yonova	notices he hits one of the infantry charging towards your comrades, but doesn't see him go down or even stop.
	Schneider	can be heard laughing as there's a faint wooosh from outside.
	TheResilientGM	+They're regretting it, alright+ comments Gordon.
	TheResilientGM	The Chimera comes to a stop.
	TheResilientGM	"Two more on the move outside. Disembark, and engage" Mauler calls out.
	Gru_Persay	equips his auto gun.
	Artem_Gusarov	flips the safety off and waits for one of you line infantry chucklefucks to step out first.
	Kass_Yonova	hits the ramp release button, and jumps out, lasgun sweeping.
	TheResilientGM	Vikk follows close behind.
	Schneider	comes out from the front with his lasgun in his hands before turning to Hector "Get up on the flamer it's fun as hell!'"
	Gru_Persay	"Meat. Follow."
	TheResilientGM	"MEAT, YES"
	Artem_Gusarov	piles out and looks for cover
	TheResilientGM	Hector excitedly moves to the front of the vehicle to use the flamer, but is stopped by the sergeant, "OUT, NOW!"
	TheResilientGM	+Mounting the autocannon+ Gordon calls
	TheResilientGM	He fires the weapon at the pair of enemy infantrymen, but misses. Instead, they dive to the ground in cover.
	Artem_Gusarov	pulls his cameleoline and preysense on and finds a target
	Schneider	puts his head down and follows after Artem
	Artem_Gusarov	turns to Schneider "Get one before we advance."
	Schneider	takes aim quickly and kills one of the guardsmen.
	TheResilientGM	The other infantryman is wounded, and attempts to crawl back.
	TheResilientGM	A mortar round strikes in your vecinity. They have changed targets.
	TheResilientGM	"Time to find that thing, break off!" Mauler commands.
	TheResilientGM	+Give us that smoke cover+
	Artem_Gusarov	+On it, give us some smoke+
	TheResilientGM	From the chimera, several rounds are fired into the air. They fall around in a dispersed pattern, slowly filling up a large area with smoke.
	Kass_Yonova	starts running towards the damaged chimera.
	Gru_Persay	follows behind Kass.
	TheResilientGM	Another mortar round strikes near the chimera. You seem to have successfully drawn its fire away from the friendly squad... so far.
	Artem_Gusarov	makes a break for the position
	TheResilientGM	As you get closer, one of the Prithians waves you over.
	Schneider	and Hector follow closely behind Artem
	TheResilientGM	A spray of rounds hits all around you, one of them strikes Gru in the leg. He instantly drops.
	TheResilientGM	"MASTERRR"
	Gru_Persay	"Meat. Pick up. Move."
	TheResilientGM	The Servitor drags the Techpriest the rest of the way into cover behind the damaged chimera.
	Gru_Persay	"....Thanks, Meat."
	TheResilientGM	"MASTER, YES"
	Kass_Yonova	"Let's have a look at you Gru." Kass looks over the Cog-boys leg.
	Gru_Persay	"This machine is discharged into your care."
	TheResilientGM	As you arrive, you see two wounded placed against the APC, another guardsman desperately tries to repair the squad's vox.
	TheResilientGM	"Get the cog-boy patched up so he can get to work on the vehicle," commands Mauler.
	Kass_Yonova	"Aye, sir."
	TheResilientGM	"We got tracked, sir. Completely imobile" a guardsman explains to Mauler.
	Artem_Gusarov	sprints up to a hill and drops to a prone position. He pulls his magnoculars out and searches for enemy
	Kass_Yonova	Working with his new Narthecium stitching up the leg wound proves easier and faster than traditional means. "You should be fine now, but be careful not to put too much weight on it.
	Gru_Persay	"Want me to repair that vox first?"
	Schneider	moves in besides Artem and begins scanning for targets. "Where's that mortar? Ya see it?"
	Kass_Yonova	walks over to the other two wounded. "Vikk see to the second trooper, while I look over this one."
	TheResilientGM	"Oh, if you could, sir..." the vox operator hands the machine to the techpriest
	Gru_Persay	repairs the Vox and adds a make shift antenna.
	TheResilientGM	The confused Vox operator stares at the techpriest.
	Gru_Persay	"Which one of you is the operator of the Chimera?"
	TheResilientGM	Yonova's observations make it clear: the blood loss on one of the guardsmen is too much, and as such he will perish. The other guardsman has shrapnel on his forearm, and a compound fracture. The limb cannot be saved.
	TheResilientGM	Vikk, sets down the medicae kit, and prepares the equipment.
	Schneider	+Can you guys get a look at the mortar?+
	Kass_Yonova	"Feck, well I can save one of them at least."
	Gru_Persay	heads inside the Chimera and motions Meat to follow.
	TheResilientGM	Gordon calls in +I think it's entrenched. Look just West of the autogun positions+
	Artem_Gusarov	+Mortar spotted+
	Schneider	"You see what I see?"
	Kass_Yonova	"Trooper, I'm going to knock you out before I do this. You're in good hands." Using the Narthecium auto-injector, Kass injects a mix of tranq and pain-killers into the wounded trooper. Once fully unconscious he sets to work, amputating the arm with the narthecium's chain-knife.
	TheResilientGM	+Take it out+
	Kass_Yonova	With Vikk's help he cleans the remaining stup, making sure to carefully wrap the stub with excess flesh and bandages. He makes sure the tourniquet is secure and nods.
	TheResilientGM	"Good work, Yonova" Vikk comments.
	TheResilientGM	A guardsman points to the amputee. "Our operator"
	Kass_Yonova	"Aye, good work to you as well Vikk, he'll survive yet." Kass turns to the other troopers. "Your friend is going to be unconscious for at least three hours. Thankfully he should be able to receive a prosthetic easily."
	Schneider	+Gimme a sec.+
	Gru_Persay	begins to repair the minor damage on the Chimera.
	Schneider	squeezes off a shot and watches as the range finger crumples over.
	Schneider	+One down+
	TheResilientGM	Meat positions himself near Gru, and begins to assist his master, passing necessary tools, and lifting where is needed.
	Artem_Gusarov	"Someone's trying to get a vantage point on us.", I point his position out for Schneider
	Schneider	switches his sights on to the sniper. "Sneaky bastard."
	TheResilientGM	"That Vox still working? Get me Company Command" Mauler requests.
	TheResilientGM	"Yes, sir" the operator gets to work.
	Gru_Persay	says "Of course, it should work. I repaired it." from inside the Tank.
	TheResilientGM	"Pipe down, cog-boy, and do your work."
	Schneider	fires off another shot and kills the enemy sniper. "Dumbass, thinkin he could sneak up on us."
	TheResilientGM	"Sgt Mauler here. Sustained light casualties, advance has come to a halt. Assisting vehicle repairs."
	TheResilientGM	A pause, then, as the reply comes in.
	TheResilientGM	"Yes, sir. For the Emperor."
	TheResilientGM	+Scheider, Gusarov. We'll need your cover. We're advancing on the enemy positions.+
	Artem_Gusarov	+Yes sir. Tell me when to lay down some covering fire.+
	TheResilientGM	"Orders coming from the top. We can't stall the advance on our flank any longer. Prepare to advance!"
	Kass_Yonova	"As the Emperor wills it, sir...."
	Schneider	+Gotcha+
	TheResilientGM	Gordon repositions your Chimera to provide better fire support.
	TheResilientGM	"Whatever happens, we have got
	TheResilientGM	The Emperor’s blessing. They have not," you hear Sgt Mauler recite under his breath.
	TheResilientGM	+Gordon, provide covering fire+
	TheResilientGM	"Everyone, on my ass!"
	Kass_Yonova	gets up and follows the sergeant.
	TheResilientGM	Mauler forces one of the guardsmen in cover to his feet, "You're all with me, too. Frontal assault, keep yourselves on a 5 meter spread."
	TheResilientGM	+COVERING FIRE!+
	TheResilientGM	Gordon fires his autocannon in the general direction of the enemy, and Mauler begins his charge.
	Gru_Persay	"Fight with this machine, and guard it from the shame of defeat."
	TheResilientGM	The guardsmen of the encountered squad fall in behind him, Vikk and Hector, join in.
	Gru_Persay	spread some of the sacred unguent on the machinery and says "Serve this machine, as you would have fight it for you."
	TheResilientGM	The first few meters are open ground. A no-man's-land that instantly begins to take fire at the sight of your advance. One guardsman takes a hit, and falls during the charge.
	Kass_Yonova	looks back towards the fallen guardsman quickly, before continuing on, cursing himself.
	TheResilientGM	A las bolt barely misses Mauler, as you come to a steeper part of the hill; Mauler lays low, allowing for the hill itself to be used as cover from the forces above.
	Artem_Gusarov	"Me and Oleg are going to try flanking these fuckers."
	Artem_Gusarov	sneaks off to the side to get closer to their flank
	TheResilientGM	+Advancing on the trench. Pick them off as you can, Schneider.+
	Kass_Yonova	"You hit, sir?"
	Schneider	+Copy+
	Artem_Gusarov	+Moving in to flank+
	TheResilientGM	The field has now completely opened up in the cover of fire from either side. The mortar crew has resumed firing and a round kills another of the Prithians who had fallen behind.
	Kass_Yonova	"That mortar squad really needs to eat it."
	TheResilientGM	+I need that mortar out of this fight, damnit+
	Artem_Gusarov	opens up with the autogun, landing a single hit on one of the autocannon crewmembers
	Schneider	fires again and kills a second mortar man.
	TheResilientGM	"Prepare grenades!" calls Mauler.
	Artem_Gusarov	fires off another burst, killing one of the autocannon gunners
	TheResilientGM	The Prithians around him prepare their grenades and get in position, ready for a quick advance.
	Kass_Yonova	unhooks a frag grenade, pulling the pin but holding the handle down until he's told to throw it.
	TheResilientGM	"Forward on me!" Sgt Mauler quickly scales the hill several meters, until the trench is in sight.
	TheResilientGM	"Destroy that position!" he calls as he throws his grenade.
	TheResilientGM	The squad around him follows suit, and soon several grenades fly through the air and into the trench formation.
	TheResilientGM	"Down! Everyone down!" the squad goes prone at his order.
	Kass_Yonova	grenade joins the groups.
	Kass_Yonova	Kass hits the dirt, holding his helmet down with a hand.
	TheResilientGM	The explosions leave a ring in everyone's ears. The smoke has not yet cleared, when you're able to hear, even /feel/ the sergeant's chainsword come to life.
	TheResilientGM	"CHARGE!!"
	Gru_Persay	makes the symbol of the Omnissiah and says "I shall."
	Gru_Persay	+The repairs are finished.+
	TheResilientGM	The sergeant leads the charge, las pistol and chainsword ready for the close quarter encounter ahead.
	Kass_Yonova	puts on his best warface, just like his drill instructor tried to hammer into him, and screams as he charges.
	Gru_Persay	+Do we have anyone that can operate the Chimera or its weapons?+
	TheResilientGM	The sergeant leads the Prithians straight into the trench position, ready to kill what may remain of the enemy.

	TheResilientGM	A soldier, farthest from the explosion spots the advance and fires, missing the sergeant.
	TheResilientGM	Sgt Mauler fires at the man with his laspistol, but, too misses.
	Gru_Persay	attempts to operate the Chimera's Weapon.
	TheResilientGM	Another surviving soldier attempts to charge Kass, but looses his balance, missing by a meter.
	Artem_Gusarov	tears through another man on the autocannon, wounding another
	Kass_Yonova	puts several las bolts through the soldier's back who tried to stab him.
	TheResilientGM	The soldier charges past the sergeant, and lunges towards Kass, but hits armor.
	Kass_Yonova	tries to punch the man off of him, but loses his balance instead, over-punching the guy.
	Schneider	fires off another shot and wings the last mortar man.
	TheResilientGM	Mauler uses his chainsword to strike the last remaining soldier on the leg. There blood and gore all over the chainsword, as it tears through, horribly maiming the target.

	Artem_Gusarov	walks over to the autocannon position, expending the last rounds in his magazine killing the wounded in there, then reloads and checks them for anything useful -- grenades, jewelry, etc.
	TheResilientGM	From the wounded, Gusarov is able to collect 2 krak grenades. A dataslate is also near one of the corpses.
	Artem_Gusarov	picks up the slate and checks it as he waits for Schneider to catch up
	Schneider	heads over to the mortar pit and disables the mortar.

	TheResilientGM	"Tell them we're nearly done here. We are about to take the hill - mortar disabled."
	TheResilientGM	The vox operator nods and begins trying to contact the relevant comms base to relay the information.
	TheResilientGM	"All that's left is to take the command bunker at the peak."
	Gru_Persay	leaves the Chimera and tries to catch up to the squad.

	Schneider	begins looking for any remaining rebel soldiers.

	TheResilientGM	The sergeant exits the Chimera. "Stalker, get up there, and tell me what you can see."

	Schneider	ducks back inside.
	Gru_Persay	scraps Meat down and takes a seat.

	TheResilientGM	Gordon's reply transmission never comes through. Instead, static takes over all comms.
	TheResilientGM	"... of the 23rd Vonayan Recon. Cease advance on right flank. Total collapse of enemy formations, they're going to saturate the area in artillery fire."
	Schneider	goes up to the drivers compartment. "Gordon get us out of here now!"
	TheResilientGM	The Chimera roars into life, and backs up at full speed down the hill.
	TheResilientGM	"Damned Vonayans breaking every Vox protocol know to the Imperium..." complains Mauler.
	Kass_Yonova	"At least it's for intel, sir."
	TheResilientGM	The ride down is choppy at best, anything not fixed, bounces around the vehicle.
	Schneider	straps himself into the flamer seat
	TheResilientGM	The peak of the hill is the first to get hit. It is deformed again and again by the heavy barrage.
	TheResilientGM	The firing pattern advances to your original position, hitting the chimera you once struggled to repair.
	Kass_Yonova	"They sure don't like us, today."
	Gru_Persay	has a single tear run down his face.
	TheResilientGM	Mauler transmits to anyone who can read him, "HALT ADVANCE! We mus--" he suddenly stops.
	TheResilientGM	"Aye sir. We gladly join the 115th" his face suddenly showing relief.
	TheResilientGM	"Mauler out."
	Artem_Gusarov	"Whatever these suki can't keep, they shell. And they call us defilers..."
	Artem_Gusarov	"No, wait, that was the Guadians."
	TheResilientGM	"We join the armored advance, gentlemen. The 115th has been deployed enmasse to the island following the attack on the Vonayan HQ."
	Kass_Yonova	"The armor finally landed? Wow."
	TheResilientGM	"And we get to join them."
	Gru_Persay	"Praise the Omnissiah."
	TheResilientGM	+Gordon, stay just behind the armor formations, and take us straight to the enemy artillery emplacements.+
	Artem_Gusarov	"At least the fucking tanks are on our side this time."
	TheResilientGM	"Infantry elements are joining in. The Vonayans have even regrouped. This may be it."
	TheResilientGM	As the chimera follows a road to the front, all around the vehicle, the terrain is scarred.
	TheResilientGM	Scarred by countless tracks that have advanced through.
	Kass_Yonova	"Holy Emperor..." Kass says as he looks out one of the view-ports.
	TheResilientGM	Reaching the peak of a hill, the road suddenly opens up into a wide valley. From this vantage point, entire companies' worth of advancing armor and infantry can be seen. In the distance -on the coast- you finally see it. The artillery emplacements. For the first time, you finally have a line of sight on the positions that have destroyed so many friendly formations.
	Schneider	"Well they took their sweet time getting here."
	TheResilientGM	The rate at which the batteries are firing makes Mauler sick - realizing how many times he's been on the receiving end of those busy crews' equipment.
	TheResilientGM	The advance reaches cannon-range for the armor in front of you. The massed-firing echoes throughout the valley, louder even than the artillery in front.
	Gru_Persay	"Once the Rebels are destroyed, we can reclaim the gifts of the Omnissiah."
	TheResilientGM	The enemy artillery suddenly stops.
	TheResilientGM	The last few rounds hit the peak of the mountain range behind you.
	TheResilientGM	When they open up again, their rounds are no longer interested in a denial-of-area. The fire is relentless, yet desperate. They take aim for whatever advancing unit they are able.
	TheResilientGM	Entire platoons are taken out, armor is destroyed by the dozens... and yet the advance continues.
	TheResilientGM	Eventually, the fire draws closer, and Gordon is forces to drive around the destroyed remains of your leading column.
	Kass_Yonova	"Fecking Emperor, shouldn't we have air support for this?"
	TheResilientGM	"Aeronutica's not touching a thing after that friendly fire incident" Mauler shakes his head, "General Bulow's investigation's becoming a problem."
	TheResilientGM	+Erm... sergeant. Column's leader is insisting we move up to the gates themselves+

	TheResilientGM	Gordon pauses for a moment.
	TheResilientGM	+Yes, sir.+
	TheResilientGM	Mauler calls in the plan for a blitz to the other transports. He explains that escaping the range can only be effectively done if the infantry can storm in en masse.
	TheResilientGM	Comms light up all across the field, until word of Regimental Command comes in: the blitz is to be the plan of attack. Armor will attempt to escort the transports as close as possible, and deliver infantry to effective proximity. Casualties are expected to be high.
	TheResilientGM	Along the way, your column alone has lost 8 Leman Russ tanks, though your formation's been joined by three more chimeras transporting infantry.
	Gru_Persay	starts to pray.

	TheResilientGM	Sgt Mauler opens the rear of the Chimera, and disembarks.
	Gru_Persay	"For the Deus Mechanicus. Meat. Follow."
	Schneider	puts his melta on his back and grabs his longlas as he heads out of the chimera
	Kass_Yonova	follows the sergeant out, keeping his lasgun up.
	Victrus_Macharius	follows Kass
	Gru_Persay	readies his auto gun and exits the vehicle.
	Victrus_Macharius	and Arthur drag out the Autocannon
	TheResilientGM	Around you, several enemy soldiers try to form up into effective formations. They are annihilated by the armor with you. Amazingly, either because of the deafening sound of the basilisk fire, or a fanatical will to defend their position to the last man, the basilisk crews seem oblivious to your advance. Never once stopping to look in your direction. Ever-busy with their task of loading,
	TheResilientGM	firing, shifting firing angle, receiving new orders and repeating.
	TheResilientGM	Mauler notices this, +We'll use their own emplacements to move in close through cover+ he points at the several sand bad emplacements and other positions now abandoned or nearly destroyed, which lead to the gun platforms with the heavy artillery.
	TheResilientGM	A guard approaches from behind the platfrom, assessing the damage. +Take him out, Schneider. We don't need to give away our exact position just yet+
	Schneider	takes aim and puts a las bolt into the guard's chest.

	TheResilientGM	Suddenly, the concussive explosions go off, dust all over the platform is released in the deafening blast. The several enemy crew members loose their footing, one is even launched a few meters off. The two guns on either end lose their alignment and completely shift angle.
	TheResilientGM	A crewman, losing footing, accidentally fires the destabilized weapon...

	TheResilientGM	the recoil of the artillery piece destroys the weakened side of the structure, punching through the platform, and onto the ground proper.

	TheResilientGM	The force lifts the neighboring gun, which -being loaded- itself fires off, turning its crew into pulp as it recoils back before toppling over.

	TheResilientGM	Debris begins to fall back to the ground.
	Schneider	"Hey you gotta admit that was fucking cool."
	TheResilientGM	The crew of the remaining two scramble, their officers pleading for a cease-fire of their weapons.

	TheResilientGM	The remaining crew members, terribly confused, wander about the platform dragging their wounded and dead comrades.

	Kass_Yonova	Kass heads over to the enemy wounded.

	Artem_Gusarov	"Don't think these guys have anything worthwhile, medic."
	Gru_Persay	motions Meat to follow him towards the Chimera.
	Kass_Yonova	"They're just crew, Artem, enough life has been wasted as is."
	TheResilientGM	"Aye sir, pour into the wound before they can react... we'll do our best, sir. Mauler out."
	Artem_Gusarov	"After a decade or so, you'll think nothing of it."
	Artem_Gusarov	"But I guess it's your problem."
	Gru_Persay	+They defiled the machines. They deserve it.+
	TheResilientGM	+All available armor will be pouring in through the corridor we've opened up. It's about to get very busy here. We have orders to disrupt enemy comms systems. Form up.+

	TheResilientGM	Sure enough, as you look back, you notice the dust clouds pick up again and shift position. Armor movements have been altered to run in and widen the gap in the enemy defenses. The battery you've destroyed has significantly decreased the firepower in front of the destroyed defenses. The beast is wounded.
