"Stupid American"- Submitted by mymindismall

First off I would like to say that I, like many others who read this blog, was a weeaboo. I first started to really dig into manga and anime when I was 10. I went through a short semi-weeaboo period for about 2 years and then started to ease up on things. However, this story starts when I was the humble age of 11.

 

I knew what anime and manga was then and I enjoyed it as much as American cartoons (all the anime I watched at the time was mostly stuff like sailor moon, wedding peach, etc. Nothing dirty). I started to bond with other people who liked anime. But, one day, I met this girl. Let's call her S. When I look back on it, S was a very much a weeaboo at the time. But, then again, maybe she was just hyper. Most 11 year olds are like that. We sometimes hung out. I used to even go over to her house sometimes and play gamecube games.

 

 Anyways, so one day I'm sitting at my lunch table and there across from me and my other group of friends is S. S starts talking about how Japan is way better than America. I speak up among her ranting. "I like America." I said. S looks at me with rage and then turns away to rant more. S starts to ramble about how American troops are lazy and stupid. (During that time my mother was a deployed army nurse in Iraq) I speak up again. I tell S that my mother is deployed and she's dealing with people who have their limbs missing.

 

All of a freaking sudden S slaps me. "BAKA!" She yells with anger. "Stupid american!" she barked at me. I had ENOUGH. I punch her square in the jaw once the school day had ended.

 

I did get suspended for 3 days but looking back on it, I'm pretty proud of myself.
