4chords: The Roleplay. Homestuck Dramu.

Sup. This is an anon submission, I guess, so enjoy it. You’re gonna wanna read this shit. Okay, so there’s a Homestuck AU going around. It’s called 4chords and it’s pretty sweet. Legits. So I joined the roleplay group because, oh my God, I was looking to join a 4chords RP. Now, I’m gonna seem like a rude bitch or elitist, but the roleplayers were horrible, except for their Sollux and Feferi and the Vriska. They were really nice to me in character and out of character.

 

During my first evening of the roleplay, they all had a Skype call and invited me in, since I was the new member. In the call, they kept calling me a ‘she’. Sometimes ‘he’. I made it perfectly clear that I’m not a boy or girl and that I am genderless. They ignored that and kept doing it anyway. This pissed me off, but I let it slide, seeing as though I didn’t want to cause drama. They also judged me for my ships, seeing as though I mainly ship heterosexual pairings.

 

It didn’t get any better. The main roleplayer, Karkat, roleplayed Karkat all wrong. Here’s where my possible elitist rant comes in. If you read 4chords or stick around for it, you’d know that 4chords!Karkat wasn’t anti-heterosexual, he didn’t throw himself at ANYONE with a dick, and he wasn’t emo or suicidal. It bothered me because I know that Emi put a lot of work and thought into that AU, especially with the background stories, I’m sure. It just upset me to see them chopping up the characters like that.

 

So anyway, the Karkat in the group would go on emo, suicidal rants on how he missed Gamzee and how he wanted Gamzee to fuck his hot but. As the character I was roleplaying as, I’d comfort him. This never worked. Instead, the roleplayer kept posting gifs of people cutting themselves. They were extremely bloody and it was really disgusting. I confronted the person OOC and asked them kindly to not post those gifs. They kept doing it and yes, I threw up. I know, over dramatic and shit, but I threw up.

 

So one day, there was MASSIVE drama. So much drama, the admins (Gamzee and Karkat) flipped out and almost left the RP, blaming themselves and shit like that. Normally, I would be like “oh no what’s wrong?” because I’m a fucking nice person, but they never respected me. It was mainly Karkat. After the drama died down, we recruited a Nepeta later on that week I suppose. After we got this Nepeta, I was OUTIE. The Nepeta in 4chords is a chick and they let this Nepeta join as Male!Nepeta. I like genderbends and all, but holy shit. I quit the group on Friday. :/

 

I didn’t want to tell them, but they were messing up a good AU. They didn’t ruin it for me (I don’t believe in the whole “blah blah ruined this or that for me”), but it disappointed me to see that they would whore out their characters, have public sex (in character and OOC convos), and basically changing the AU to fit their own. Again, that’s someone else’s idea and you’re basically twisting it and changing it to your own sick little fantasy.

 

Okay, the conclusion? Don’t fuck up the idea of others. That’s rude and people work hard on that shit. It’s also inconsiderate.
