  1. A message to my MP:
  2.
  3. You may have already seen the latest e-petition to reach the required 100k signatures to be debated in the House, but if not, I’d like to draw your attention to it:

  7. As a father, football fan, Liverpool supporter and someone who was profoundly moved by the Hillsborough tragedy as 12 year old boy, Anne Williams 23 year struggle to find out the truth about what led to her 15 year old son’s death on that tragic day touches me on many levels. It is important that a request for an inquest into Kevin Williams death is debated in the House and I truly hope such a debate would see her request is granted. There seem to be clear areas for concern around her son’s death and Anne’s dedication to try and seek out the truth needs to be respected and rewarded.

  13. Here’s a short piece from the link above:
  14.
  15. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  16.
  17. After finding out the truth about what happened to Kevin (from witnesses, including the police), I took his case to the Attorney General asking him to give me a new inquest on him. Kevin has not had a full inquest. The 3.15 p.m. cut off point (chosen by a Coroner as the time by which all injured would have died) meant the jury never heard what happened to him up to 4.00 p.m. that day.
  18.
  19. Evidence has been suppressed, statements have been changed, there has never been a full inquiry into how Kevin died. Three times my momorial was submitted, three times it was refused. I have had a Judicial Review, a Cook Report programme and nobody will do anything to have Kevin's case reopened. If Kevin got a new Inquest, evidence from 3.15 to 4.00 p.m. that day would have to be looked into and nobody wants to answer for the mistakes that were made after 3.15 p.m.
  20.
  21. My son was alive until 4.00 p.m. that day. He would not have died had he received a simple procedure to save his life. But because the police never implemented the Major Disaster Plan or let the ambulances on to the ground, Kevin was left to die.
  22.
  23. I want an inquiry from 3.15 to 4.00 p.m. the time nobody has looked into. The time when the disaster was at its worst.
  24.
  25. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  26.
  27. Mark, the inner workings of government are beyond me and lord knows there are plenty of other huge issues MPs have to deal with on a daily basis, but as a father, I feel it my duty to support Anne. I hope you, as my elected representative, can also do something to help her find the truth.
  28.
  29. Sincerely,
  30.
  31. Your constituent X
