  1. There had long been in his eyes a darkness that was not of this world. The darkness in his eyes seemed to be demonic, as it did not yield to any situation where darkness might normally be confronted with a challenge. Instead, it fought on, undaunted, to overtake his mind, body, and soul.
  2.
  3. He became one with Satan and promised to carry out the will that the leader of the demons had set out for him.
  4.
  5. Therefore, off he went to fight the forces of light and to bring forth the triumph of the forces of darkness. He endeavored to bring forth darkness into the world and destroy the light which had obstructed the ways of his lord and master, Satan.
  6.
  7. To accomplish this, he needed the help of forces already on the Earth which already had dedicated themselves to fulfilling the will of his master. The man, who was named by the few who knew him as Jack, sought to commune with those groups which relegated themselves to the outskirts of society.
  8.
  9. Therefore, Jack, dressed in ripped and dark clothing with a pair of sunglasses to obscure his face, walked into a seedy bar to meet with a guy whom Satan had told him was a ready and willing participant in his games.
  10.
  11. These games were not the games that we play, but rather, were much darker and much more serious, as they concerned the potential fate of millions of people throughout the world.
  12.
  13. Jack, who in this world felt at ease and secure, decided to further approach the man. He felt that the man would be willing to be subservient to his desire and that he could, therefore, entrust the man with the will which he had been given.
  14.
  15. Inside the bar, Jack took a seat on one of the pedestals. Shortly after sitting, he swiveled in the pedestal to find, staring at him, the very man whom Jack had been tasked to meet earlier.
  16.
  17. The man was tall and muscular, and from the physique he had, it was clear that Satan had used him as an enforcer of sorts. This would obviously help him to police the places he had to head off to.
  18.
  19. The man soon stared at Jack, and at that moment, each glanced at the other.
  20.
  21. Jack saw the man's steely visage and felt more than a little unnerved. He wasn't quite sure of what to make of such a man, especially when the man was a worker for the very devil himself. In the man's face, Jack saw that it possessed many jags and crevices, and was weathered due to years of labor and toil which the man had done to serve his master. There were bags under the man's eyes, and he was clearly tired. He had thick stubble on his face, and it seemed as though he had not shaved in several days.
  22.
  23. Jack reasoned "Considering the duties and obligations he has, I can see why a relatively trivial matter such as shaving could take a back seat to other, more pressing problems."
  24.
  25. Then, the man saw Jack. Jack was never able to grow a beard, but nonetheless, had a visage which indicated that he had long ago subordinated himself to a different self from that which he had previously encountered. This caused the man to have a grudging respect for Jack even though Jack was relatively scrawny.
  26.
  27. After this period, both men shook hands.
  28.
  29. "I'm Jack. Nice to meet you."
  30. "I'm Connor. Ditto."
  31.
  32. After the two men introduced themselves, the topic of the conversation switched from small talk to more pressing matters. Jack leaned in on the bar and started talking to Connor.
  33.
  34. "I've been told that you're Satan's enforcer and that I need to find you so that you can help me to become a willing participant in those tasks which I have been told to do by Lucifer. It is my sincerest desire to further my training with him, but in order to reach that major advancement, I need someone who works with Lucifer to maintain the system which he has established. From all the things that have come to my knowledge, you are the one who would most be suited to abetting my cause."
  35.
  36. Connor remained quiet while Jack spoke. Once Jack finished, however, Connor let out a loud laugh. His face, once so steely and determined, took on an incredulous grin. Soon, he began to speak.
  37.
  38. "Why should I help a puny trainee like you? What's in it for me? I have other things that I need to do and things that I'd rather be doing. I didn't enter this gig long ago to become some mentor to a kid who has delusions of grandeur."
  39.
  40. I heard these words of mockery and found myself seemingly under attack by them. I knew that I was sent for a greater purpose than the purpose for which the man had stated. Therefore, I was determined to respond to his statement to show to him what it was that I needed to do.
  41.
  42. Turning to him, I said "Look, buddy, I get that I'm new here and that you weren't expecting this, but I was sent over by the man himself to learn the tricks of the trade. Unless you want to get into trouble with the man himself for not doing what he wants to be done, I suggest that you do your job and train me for the path to come. "
  43.
  44. Connor's face became reddened with anger, and it seemed as though he wanted to strike back at me. Then, however, he remembered that while he did not want to have to deal with me, that he still had to serve Satan, and for better or worse, he would have to suck it up.
  45.
  46. He turned back to me and said "Alright, I'll train you. Don't expect any special treatment just because you're new, though. You'll have to face the same regimen that those who have put themselves in the employ of my master have had to fall under. Is that understood?"
  47.
  48. I turned to him and nodded my head, responding with an affirmative "Yes."
  49.
  50. At that moment, Connor stood up and looked at me, square in the eye.
  51.
  52. "Our training begins tomorrow. It's late and I need to sleep."
  53.
  54. I saw this and was slightly perturbed by the implication that his words gave. I had been forced to give up my home and car to Satan as part of his accepting me into his ranks. After all, Lucifer did drive a very hard bargain.
  55.
  56. Connor stared at me with an almost vice-like glare. I realized then that I had perhaps rested myself in my thoughts and past memories for far too long. I would need to release myself back into the world of reality. As a result of this, I quickly turned to him.
  57.
  58. "I'll join you. Connor, go ahead of me. I'll go behind."
  59.
  60. "Fair enough, dweeb" Connor replied, though with a smirk on his face which showed me that he was indeed starting to warm up to me.
  61.
  62. I saw Connor opening up a delicate door, which must have been incredibly strong at one point but which had been weakened by force and the pressures of time. The door was rickety, but nonetheless, still did the job it was tasked to do.
  63.
  64. The steps then were shown. The stairwell was rather dark, and only a dim light, insufficient to prevent darkness but which nonetheless gave some guiding path, illuminated the steps we took. I followed Connor up the stairs, and at the end, a second door approached. This door wasn't as worn as the door we'd seen earlier, but nonetheless, still had some wear and tear. Connor opened the door and entered. I promptly followed him and closed the door.
  65.
  66. Now the two of us were on the second floor, and Connor walked me through a hallway. At the very end, there was a door that seemed nondescript at first glance, but when Connor approached, a small, golden C came into being. Inside that C was a small camera, which scanned Connor's face.
  67.
  68. Before long, the door opened. Connor entered and I promptly followed. I was now in Connor's bedroom.
  69.
  70. The bedroom was a decently-sized space. It wasn't small but it wasn't huge either. In it, there stood in the middle a large bed. The bed also had a nightstand to the left of it. On the nightstand was a lamp, and that lamp helped to provide a certain degree of light. Off to the left corner, there was a closet and a desk with a chair. To the center of the area, in between the desk area and the nightstand, was a clothes rack.
  71.
  72. At that moment, Connor went and showered. I stayed on the bed, which though somewhat tattered and worn, was still comfy. I waited for Connor to finish, and when he stepped out, I glanced up at him. His face still had the thick stubble from earlier. Then, off fell his shoulder-length hair, which was a dark black that fit in more with the darkness of the night than with the light of the morning.
  73.
  74. I went and turned my stare downward. He had broad shoulders, and his chest was well-muscled, but at the same time, covered to a certain extent by a large amount of hair. His forearms were large and were strong. They were also, befitting his self, hairy as well. His hands were also large and muscular, and in them, there was a certain sense of powerβ€”a certain state of being in which the arms were almost a sort of weapon in the arsenal of his body.
  75.
  76. I would have seen more were it not for Connor staring at me and telling me "Dude, you need to shower. Also, please stop staring at me. It's giving me the creeps."
  77.
  78. Slightly sheepish, I stared and said "Well, okay. I'll stop here. Let me shower."
  79.
  80. Connor grinned at me. "That would be a great idea."
  81.
  82. I then got my clothing, put it on the toilet seat, and jumped into the shower. The hot water proved to make me feel alive and reinvigorated, and the removal of the dirt and grime which had taken over me in the course of the day made me feel as though I were cleansed and purified.
  83.
  84. Once I finished the shower, I exited out and dried myself. At that moment, I put on my clothes and put the tower out on one of the racks to hang. I then exited the bathroom and closed the door. Connor was on the bed, seemingly waiting for me.
  85.
  86. Off in the distance, in the desk chair, I saw Connor's towel hanging on it. Then, I jumped into the bed.
  87.
  88. As I made myself comfortable and removed my glasses, I noticed that Connor wasn't wearing any clothing to bed- he was stark naked. In contrast, I was wearing a pair of pajamas. The juxtaposition was certainly interesting, to say the least.
  89.
  90. Connor laughed and looked at me. In his expression, he said everything that he needed to say. Clearly, he was incredulous at the thought that I wore pajamas to sleep. Nonetheless, I went to the bed and turned off the lamp that provided light in the darkness of the night. In spite of the fact that this was a bed where I had never slept before in sketchy environs, I had a deep and dreamless sleep.
  91.
  92. The morning soon came far more unexpectedly than I wished for it to be. As I tossed and turned, I saw that Connor was already dressed and bedecked in the gear that would prepare him for the task which he was supposed to do. Part of me felt that I should awaken, but before long, I was conquered by the forces of sleep, and fell back. I heard Connor's footsteps leave, and didn't know what to expect. I would soon find out.
  93.
  94. Several hours passed, and I remained in a state of peaceful sleep. I was all by myself in the room, sleeping, blissfully unaware of the events occurring around me. I was enjoying the sleep I was having. I would soon regret that decision, however.
  95.
  96. Later on, towards the day, I released a set of movements which disengaged me from the realm of dreams where I was in. I was finally awake, and I trudged on to the bathroom.
  97.
  98. As I walked there, I saw a note. It had apparently been left by Connor.
  99.
  100. The note stated that:
  101.
  102. Jack,
  103.
  104. I decided to leave you to your sleep. I was nice this once and gave you the luxury of sleeping in. I will let you know, however, that this is not the case for the people who are under my boss's employ. Don't think that you have weaseled out of the training you must engage in. I will be back later today.
  105.
  106. Enjoy your sleeping in; this is the first and last time that you will ever have this.
  107.
  108. Connor.
  109.
  110. I saw the note and realized that Connor had, in spite of the initial hostility that formed part of our encounter, treated me quite nicely. While a part of me was excited to begin the training, another part of me recoiled at the question of what exactly the training would be. Would it be a physical training? A mental training? A social training? I could not say for certain.
  111.
  112. Shaking away these thoughts, I entered the restroom. Now inside, I brushed my teeth and washed my face. After that, I went back to the room and decided to grab a pair of clothes. I wasn't about to spend my whole day lounging around in my pajamas, after all. Therefore, I grabbed a pair of underwear, a pair of black jeans, a red t-shirt, and my belt, and proceeded to head back to the restroom to shower.
  113.
  114. Once I finished showering, I put on the set of clothes, put on a pair of socks and shoes, and went to comb my hair. I looked at myself in the mirror and thought that I was ready for whatever the day could bring.
  115.
  116. Connor wasn't there, however, and since he wasn't there to guide me, I had no real clue where it was that I could eat. I was ravenously hungry, since I had not eaten anything for several hours, and yet, I could not determine where I could find comestibles to sustain me at the time. Therefore, I decided to wait until Connor returned for the exercises he would teach me and for any possible food that he could show to me.
  117.
  118. I placed myself to where the desk was and sat on a chair. I then saw a loose piece of paper lying around. I grabbed it and a pen and started drawing. I became incredibly engrossed in the act of drawing, and before long, I drew an image that depicted the world when death darkness pervaded its self. There was a great deal of shading, of black darkness that pervaded the picture, and even though I knew it would never be shown in a museum, it was nonetheless a pretty impressive work of art, though then again, I may be biased.
  119.
  120. Nonetheless, the drawing fulfilled its task. It distracted me for a great deal of time. By the time I finished the drawing, I heard the camera scanning a person inside. Within a couple of seconds, the door opened and Connor returned to the room. He was once more there, and I knew that several things would occur.
  121.
  122. Connor stared at me and told me to stand up. I obliged him and stood up. Once that occurred, Connor prepared himself to speak to me. I stared at him and noticed that he was apparently sweaty. I didn't know what he did, but I assumed that he must have returned from doing a task which required him to fully exercise his physicality and strength. He was, after all, Satan's enforcer. I knew, however, that Connor wasn't merely a burly enforcer. He was quite a smart guy, but that part was hidden under his imposing facade.
