  11. [2016-05-18 13:24:29] <Kkat> 3Get_Lost finds her shades. they aren't superclassy because fallout, but still, shades! "do it the awesome way!" offers the shades to the blue pegasus
  12. [2016-05-18 13:24:34] <Kkat> 3Dash puts on the shades. "He, thanks Get." She smiles. "You're one cool mare. Don't let anyone make you think otherwise."
  13. [2016-05-18 13:24:39] <Kkat> 3Rainbow Dash spreads her wings, crouching low, then shoots off into the darkness. There is a ripple, and a distant BOOM.

  21. [2016-05-18 13:34:20] * Mitzi gingerly sets her paws back on the ship, not very fond of not being on or in the ground.
  22. [2016-05-18 13:35:11] <Kkat> 3It takes at least another hour, but an uneventful one...
  23. [2016-05-18 13:35:51] * Golden_Dream 's facial features sag a little. She's very quiet during the hour. Slowly blinking. Every once in a while sniffling.
  24. [2016-05-18 13:35:57] <Kkat> 3...but the /Skullcrusher/ sails back through the open portal and begins to rise up the blue hole until it reaches the surface.
  25. [2016-05-18 13:37:58] * Bookwright sighs. "Ahh... It's high time we were back in our own time. Time time time. I'm sure I could make more puns on the word 'time' but I'm afraid you all wouldn't give me the... time of day after that."
  26. [2016-05-18 13:38:34] <Kkat> 3The moment the converted airship breaks the surface, it is airborne at the snap of a draconequus' talons. In a flash, the submersible is returned to being an airship, the balloons soaring back to it, the rigging tying itself to the ship like several dozen animate tentacles.
  27. [2016-05-18 13:39:20] <Kkat> 3"Welcome back!" Pan whoops! Swooping up, he asks with a grin, "So, how did it go? Did you bring me any presents?"
  28. [2016-05-18 13:40:43] * Bookwright "Our presence, and little else."
  29. [2016-05-18 13:44:33] * Golden_Dream plods out, looking deeply harrowed, and just walks on by past Pan without a word.
  30. [2016-05-18 13:45:24] * Shatara shrugs a little. "We seem to have come back with less than we left with..."
  31. [2016-05-18 13:49:18] <Kkat> 3Pan makes an exaggerated show of counting. "Really? It looks to me like you came back with more." He pauses. "Only one more. Some zebra or some pony is missing."
  32. [2016-05-18 13:49:29] * Get_Lost thinks about it "uh... some stories?"
  33. [2016-05-18 13:50:57] * Get_Lost "bookie can tell you some interesting tale if you like, i guess..."
  34. [2016-05-18 13:50:57] * CopyCat sighs, but she looks up at Pan with a little smile. "We recovered our friends and lost an artifact, but we do have some very interesting stories."
  35. [2016-05-18 13:51:13] * Bookwright "But you won't believe them. Or you will, which is probably worse."
  36. [2016-05-18 13:51:23] * Get_Lost also, patpats golden on the head just because it seemed appropriate
  37. [2016-05-18 13:55:03] * Mitzi looks ever more ill as the ship takes to the air.
  38. [2016-05-18 13:55:06] <Kkat> 3Powered gliders begin to land on deck. The first to land is Captain Wameli, who tears herself out of the straps and gallops to Mwana, embracing him in a fierce hug.
  39. [2016-05-18 13:56:56] * Golden_Dream gives Mwana a faint smile. A sad one, but she at least made a show of it. Today's a sit down, do nothing, and be depressed and gorge yourself on something sweet sort of day. Those are her short-term plans.
  40. [2016-05-18 13:56:57] <Kkat> 3As Captain Vespertilio lands, Mwana's mother breaks off the hug, gathering herself to look more proper. Then begins the sort of scolding that only comes from a worried mother and annoyed superior officer.
  41. [2016-05-18 13:57:56] <Kkat> 3Cordus Vespertilio approaches his captain, formally returning command of the /Skullcrusher/.
  42. [2016-05-18 14:01:46] * Mitzi winces as her potent ears pick up every word of Mwana's tongue lashing
  43. [2016-05-18 14:02:37] * CopyCat translates said tongue lashing for the benefit of her friends. She was helping!
  44. [2016-05-18 14:03:41] <Kkat> 3Get_Lost catches her name being mentioned as Cordus talks to Captain Vespertilio.
  45. [2016-05-18 14:04:34] <Kkat> 3Chombo and two of the other zebras begin to approach.
  46. [2016-05-18 14:05:33] * Get_Lost tries to listen to the conversation, but her zebra is inexistent and that doesn't help
  47. [2016-05-18 14:05:54] <Kkat> 3Mwana glances briefly past his mother at the group forming around Captain Vespertilio and Cordus. CopyCat translates for everyone, "uh, mom? Captain? I think... we're deciding things."
  48. [2016-05-18 14:24:05] <Kkat> 3Captain Wameli frowns, orders Mwana not to change the topic and continues her scolding... with hesitation and the occasional glance over to the increasing group of pirates surrounding the two Vespertilios. Voices over there are beginning to raise.
  49. [2016-05-18 14:24:40] <Kkat> 3Pan floats overhead, looking... hopeful? Pensive? It's hard to tell.
  50. [2016-05-18 14:26:05] <Kkat> 3After another minute of trying, Captain Wameli gives up, hugs her son again, then turns away.
  51. [2016-05-18 14:26:40] <Kkat> 3Captain Wameli calls over, asking what the hell this is all about as she approaches.
  52. [2016-05-18 14:27:35] <Kkat> 3Other pirate captains have joined the circle. And from the sounds of it, they have learned that the Griffin's Goblet did not come back with the /Skullcrusher/.
  53. [2016-05-18 14:28:31] * Golden_Dream was hoping to go home and do nothing. She has no energy /left/ to do social things with. But when it rains, it pours, and that old standby bile in her gut was plenty ready to give her the burst of life she needed to proceed onward. "Well, no fuckin' shit. Do y' know what that thing was?"
  54. [2016-05-18 14:33:26] <Kkat> 3A ring of waves ripple across the lake from the center of the blue hole. There is a soft THUD, and a distortion that shimeers through the atmosphere. The weather changes once again, thick stormclouds forming overhead, filled with rain and lightning.
  55. [2016-05-18 14:33:51] * Golden_Dream flops her leg towards the no-longer there hole in the pond. "Do y' know where we just fuckin' /went/? That damn thing was a time machine, not some dimensional portal. We went back in /fucking/ time to when the Quetzlcoatl Empress was still dickin' around, And- WHAT FUCKIN' NOW."
  56. [2016-05-18 14:34:54] <Kkat> 3Pink-E floats up, bobbing next to Mitzi, uncharacteristically quiet.
  57. [2016-05-18 14:35:34] <Kkat> 3Mwana looks over to Golden_Dream. "I... think that was the gate closing?"
  58. [2016-05-18 14:35:46] * Pony_35507 whines a bit at the sudden storm and holds hunter close. She didn't like thunder.

  60. [2016-05-18 14:36:56] <Kkat> 3Mwana recalls, "When it opened, it messed with the weather."
  61. [2016-05-18 14:37:48] <Kkat> 3Pan perks up. "Oh yes. Chaos is too chaotic to be contained. Even if you don't change anything, you can't help but change something. Butterflies creating hurricanes and all that."
  62. [2016-05-18 14:38:26] * Bookwright "And spirits creating holes in the fabric of reality. When you do that kind of stuff it doesn't exactly come out in the wash, I'd wager."
  63. [2016-05-18 14:38:45] <Kkat> 3Hunter whines and tugs at Mitzi's fur with little claws.
  64. [2016-05-18 14:39:00] * Mitzi strokes his scales soothingly.
  65. [2016-05-18 14:39:10] <Kkat> 3Pan tsks, "Well, it was for a good cause."
  66. [2016-05-18 14:39:57] * Golden_Dream sort of hangs around Mwana closely. She was hoping to get some of his pleasantness by osmosis. It worked a little. "Did anything else come through behind us?" She said in grave tones.
  67. [2016-05-18 14:40:51] * Bookwright "I'm not objecting, just regretting."
  68. [2016-05-18 14:42:29] * Get_Lost "do you think the sunglasses have something to do with it?"
  69. [2016-05-18 14:43:00] <Kkat> 3Scales meanwhile slips out and hisses, looking about for the first time since finding itself in the world the Quetzalcóatl Empress ruled. The little couatl tastes the air with its tongue and makes a pleased sound.
  70. [2016-05-18 14:44:39] <Kkat> 3A bit of a ways off, other members of the /Cutlass/ crew are landing. They approach Jugeote and Kifaa, welcoming them back with rum and a lack of overt sentimentality.
  71. [2016-05-18 14:45:46] * Bookwright is just glad that Scales didn't have a more extreme reaction to the Empress.
  72. [2016-05-18 14:46:25] <Kkat> 3Get_Lost checks her sensors. The ripple seemed to cause no oddities or fluctuations in her systems. However, as she checks, she is alerted to a new radio frequency.
  73. [2016-05-18 14:48:06] <Kkat> 3Cordus Vespertilio again clearly invokes Get_Lost's name, this time actually pointing in the cyberpony's direction as he argues with his Captain.
  74. [2016-05-18 14:48:11] * Get_Lost "guys, there's a radio transmitting..." opens the frequency
  75. [2016-05-18 14:48:31] * Shatara blinkblinks, checking on the strange new transmission
  76. [2016-05-18 14:49:32] <Kkat> 3Shatara and Golden_Dream are alerted to the frequency's appearance a moment after Get_Lost announces it. The frequency is coded as "ERNC #003".
  77. [2016-05-18 14:50:32] * Golden_Dream tunes to the radio signal. Maybe it'll distract her from yelling at the stupid, /stupid/ captains some more.
  78. [2016-05-18 14:56:05] <Kkat> 3Mwana turns to Golden_Dream and translates, "Get_Lost, the metal pony with the unfortunate name, was right. This is our fight. I'm not going to be bested at defending my own home by a bunch of ponies."
  79. [2016-05-18 14:56:19] * Noble_Heart scowls at the ongoing argument, then looks towards Pan. "It was a glorious setup. You should be proud for orchestrating it. We did not even realize it until it was too late to turn back. Not that We are certain We would have turned back if We could."

  81. [2016-05-18 14:57:53] <Kkat> 3Pan grins. "Why thank you!" The little chaos spirit perks at the argument, then grins, rubbing his talons and paw together. "Oh, and it looks like you /did/ bring me presents!"

  83. [2016-05-18 15:00:27] * CopyCat ear-flicks. "Suddenly I want a drink."
  84. [2016-05-18 15:01:00] * Mitzi tilts her head at the radio transmission. The tone suggestion something important, but it could be gibberish for all she understood

  86. [2016-05-18 15:01:41] * Shatara blinkblinks. "Is this...military chatter?"
  87. [2016-05-18 15:03:01] <Kkat> 3Thunder rumbles again. Heavy raindrops begin to fall, one landing on Shatara's beak. Another creating a wet spot on Get_Lost's visor. Scales looks up as a drop splashes on its head.

  89. [2016-05-18 15:04:08] * CopyCat frowns, starting to look up. "Did the portal disturb the weather for this long when it opened?"
  90. [2016-05-18 15:04:48] <Kkat> 3Chombo joins in the argument. Mwana translates again, "The Grand Spirits themselves took one look at us and called us cowards." Chombo ignores that she was one of the few zebras that the spirits approved of.
  91. [2016-05-18 15:04:59] * Noble_Heart ruffles her feathers and scowls, looking upwards towards the rainclouds. The possibilities were not a good sign.
  92. [2016-05-18 15:05:40] <Kkat> 3Another rumble of thunder, and the rain begins to fall in earnest. Soon everyone not under cover is soaked.
  93. [2016-05-18 15:06:35] * CopyCat , with her helmet off, pulls off the wet-mane look very well.
  94. [2016-05-18 15:07:02] <Kkat> 5>> Forward report details several native airships in the target zone. <<
  95. [2016-05-18 15:07:47] * Bookwright "Enclave remnants maybe? The sky is a big place, there's probably some around somewhere."
  96. [2016-05-18 15:08:28] * Noble_Heart furrows her brow and looks skywards. "Most likely above us. They utilized dense stormclouds to achieve flight on their airships." She didn't like that prospect at all. Spreading her wings to head skywards.
  97. [2016-05-18 15:09:31] * Get_Lost mutters "enclave, could it be?"
  98. [2016-05-18 15:09:44] * Mitzi hears mention of the Enclave and growls, her heckles rising
  99. [2016-05-18 15:09:57] <Kkat> 3Captain Wameli looks to Mwana. "They're right, mom. Captain. We need to stay. This is *our* fight. The Imperials are taking over *our* home. We need to stop running and hiding and stand up to them."
  100. [2016-05-18 15:10:48] <Kkat> 3Captain Wameli frowns. "Nobility and principles don't stop machine gun fire, and they don't do you any good when you're dead."
  101. [2016-05-18 15:10:50] * Get_Lost "wait wait wait, it could be a lot worse... there could be... real navy ships above us. tell the guys to... i don't know, to scatter"
  102. [2016-05-18 15:11:20] <Kkat> 5>>> Assessment, Echo Royal Cider? <<<
  103. [2016-05-18 15:11:21] * Get_Lost "copy, can you leave parlay for a moment so that she can take a look above us?"
  104. [2016-05-18 15:11:40] * Golden_Dream inhales through her nose. When it rains, it pours. She barges right on into the meeting room, using her shotgun to blow the hinges off if necessary. "LADIES AND GENTLECOLTS, WE MIGHT HAVE A PROBLEM."
  105. [2016-05-18 15:12:07] * Bookwright "Maybe Shatara should go up and have a look? I could send Scales with you. She won't eat you. Probably."
  106. [2016-05-18 15:12:14] * Noble_Heart heads skywards, towards the dense cloud layer above, intent to punch through and see what was on the other side.
  107. [2016-05-18 15:12:29] * Get_Lost "okay, i guess that's covered"
  108. [2016-05-18 15:12:39] <Kkat> 5>>> They look bodged together, ma'am. Armed with ballista, mounted rifles, a few old cannons. Nothing that can pierce the hull of the New Cumulus. They pose no threat. <<<
  109. [2016-05-18 15:13:24] * Bookwright "Okay, that name sounds like a Big Problem. And Big Problems have a tendency to become Our Problems, at least when we're around."
  110. [2016-05-18 15:13:31] <Kkat> 3Noble_Heart, soaked with rain, disappears into the clouds above.
  111. [2016-05-18 15:14:15] * Shatara takes off after the alicorn, tracking her tags. "Hey! I'll show you no threat..."
  112. [2016-05-18 15:14:36] * Golden_Dream starts yelling. "Everybody bolt, we got Enclavers coming in from up above!"
  113. [2016-05-18 15:16:47] * Get_Lost "yep, w better avoid those giant plasma cannons"
  114. [2016-05-18 15:17:00] <Kkat> 3Mwana stomps. "Captain... Mom, you /know/ this is the right thing to do." He scoffs, "And when did you play it safe? You're a /pirate/!"
  115. [2016-05-18 15:17:56] <Kkat> 3The other pirates stop arguing to turn to Golden_Dream.
  116. [2016-05-18 15:19:45] * Golden_Dream lifts her pipbuck. "Enclavers! Pegusi that have a /huge/ airship made from clouds and stuff that'll take artillery guns t' put a dent in! We need to scatter and regroup somewhere else before they get th' inkling of maybe takin' us out!"
  117. [2016-05-18 15:20:01] <Kkat> 3Noble_Heart beats her way through the center of the storm, dodging lightning and fighting turbulent winds. Finally she breaks through to the sun-lit world above, where the sky is pure blue and the clouds are dazzling white.
  118. [2016-05-18 15:20:43] <Kkat> 3Noble_Heart looks around. And spots nothing. She is alone up here.
  119. [2016-05-18 15:21:30] * Noble_Heart squints in the brightness. They were definitely somewhere nearby. But not above the clouds... Somewhere inside the cloud cover? That would make for good cover, but how would they see out? She pauses above the clouds briefly, before turning to dive back down.
  120. [2016-05-18 15:22:21] <Kkat> 3The mood in the room changes immediately. The captains rush to their gliders. Captain Vespertillo tables the discussion, ordering Cordus to make the /Skullcrusher/ ready for flight... or battle.
  121. [2016-05-18 15:24:13] * Golden_Dream slams her hooves on the table. "I need one of you t' take th' dragon kids off th' Shadowbolt. Maybe, /maybe/ we can buy you some time."
  122. [2016-05-18 15:24:31] <Kkat> 3Shatara follows Noble_Heart into the clouds, and is almost immediately swept away from her by fierce winds. He catches himself, narrowly avoiding a bolt of lightning that arcs between the stormclouds. He looks about, unable to spot Noble_Heart. But his eyes pick out a dark shadow moving through the storm itself, cloaked within it.
  123. [2016-05-18 15:25:04] <Kkat> 3Another flash of lightning behind the vessel gives the shadow the shape of an Enclave Raptor.
  124. [2016-05-18 15:25:32] <Kkat> 6>>> Approaching target zone now. <<<
  125. [2016-05-18 15:25:38] * Shatara 's eyes go wide. "Wow, you're a lot bigger than your action figure..."
  126. [2016-05-18 15:31:25] * Golden_Dream starts to bolt out of the meeting room. "Get! Get us above th' cloud layers. Mitzi, park the dragons /somewhere else/. We do not want a ship full of durned hatchlings dying. Or /worse/."
  127. [2016-05-18 15:32:52] * Golden_Dream looks around. No Noble or Shatara. They're scouting. Good. "Copycat, get into contact with th' scoutin' crew and help Mitzi. There'll be a point where there's nothing she can do."
  128. [2016-05-18 15:33:37] * Mitzi frowns, but nods and begins attempting to herd the baby dragons, or at least corral them.
  129. [2016-05-18 15:34:39] * CopyCat nods at Golden_Dream, closes her eyes, and reaches out to her friends. "Noble, find anything? Shatara, what do your griff eyes see?"
  130. [2016-05-18 15:34:51] * Get_Lost "we need to get to our ship first, i guess... also, why the hay the enclave has still a working raptor and what is it doing here?"
  131. [2016-05-18 15:35:08] * Golden_Dream sprints! "So, hurry up and get on it!"
  132. [2016-05-18 15:35:15] <Kkat> 5>>> Target zone confirmed. Beginning descent. Preparing to address the locals. <<<
  133. [2016-05-18 15:36:02] <Kkat> 3Powered gliders launch from the deck of the /Skullcrusher/, delivering captains back to their ships.
  134. [2016-05-18 15:36:12] * Noble_Heart descends through the cloud layer. >We have not. However they must be somewhere and are not above the clouds. The clouds themselves likely hide their position. Be prepared.<
  135. [2016-05-18 15:36:29] <Kkat> 3Captain Wameli and Mwana race out alongside Golden_Dream.
  136. [2016-05-18 15:37:16] * Get_Lost "address the locals, wait! this is good, they are willing to speak"
  137. [2016-05-18 15:37:18] * Shatara dives back downward. >GIANT FRICKIN SKY BATTLESHIP<
  138. [2016-05-18 15:41:11] * Golden_Dream "They're ready to speak like I'm ready to listen. Fire it up, Get!"
  139. [2016-05-18 15:42:27] <Kkat> 3There is a staggering flash, and Golden_Dream finds herself back on the /Shadowbolt/, along with her friends. Captain Wameli and Mwana appear on the deck of the /Cutlass/, along with Jugeote, Kifaa and the pirates who flew over to welcome them back.
  140. [2016-05-18 15:42:36] * CopyCat blinks as she receives the replies. Her eyes are a bit wider when they open again. "Y-yeah, it's Enclave. Shatara reports: GIANT FRICKIN SKY BATTLESHIP!"
  141. [2016-05-18 15:43:24] <Kkat> 3Pan floats in the air between the ships. "Don't say I never did anything to help." Then grouses, "Again..." He looks upwards at the clouds and shouts, "AND THEY WERE JUST MAKING PROGRESS!"
  142. [2016-05-18 15:43:33] * Get_Lost gets to the helm and starts gaining altitude "do not power up the wepons for any reason. i don't know if a spirit can beguile the sensors of a battleship"
  143. [2016-05-18 15:44:31] <Kkat> 13Pink-E bobs up. "Hey, look on the bright side. Maybe they're just here to bring Mitzi her stuff back!"
  144. [2016-05-18 15:44:48] * CopyCat blinks again as she finds herself and her friends back on their ship. "I hope Pink-E is right!"
  145. [2016-05-18 15:45:47] * Mitzi growls. "Uh'\ll be takeen more den ur collar back eef uh get up dere."
  146. [2016-05-18 15:45:57] * Bookwright "Time to find out just how good at subterfuge this airship really is."
  147. [2016-05-18 15:46:17] <Kkat> 3A patch in the storm clouds darkens.
  148. [2016-05-18 15:46:21] * Golden_Dream cranes her forelegs up to Pan and attempts to plant a kiss /right/ on his lips. "Thank you /so/ much." She then swiftly gets ready. "Alright, ladies, gentlecolts. Fasten yer' seatbelt, this is gonna be bumpy!"
  149. [2016-05-18 15:48:07] <Kkat> 3Two large, black stormclouds descend from the rest of the storm, bristling with barely-contained electricity.
