BALKAN ROUTE WEEKLY (week 5, 3.2.2016)

Updates:

- Due to strike in Macedonia, thousands of refugees are stranded in Eidomeni and Polykastro, some of the decided to walk towards Macedonia on foot. Volunteers needed here.

- Large changes in Lesvos and other islands are expected: Greek coast guard started to pick up many refugees' boats on the way and transport them safely on land. It's not sure, if this will continue and how this will affect volunteer work on beaches

- some places on Balkan route empty because of various strikes (ferry boats, taxi drivers)

- volunteers needed in Dobova (Croatia), Miratovac (Serbia) and Eidomeni (Greece) and Dimitrovgrad (Serbia; starting 8th of February)
