  1. ###Kill grace period comment
  2. Please read [ask] and the [help/on-topic] before posting spam. Thanks!
  3.
  4. ###Question posted as answer
  5. This post isn't an actual attempt at answering the question. Please note [$SITENAME$ doesn't work like a discussion forum](http://$SITEURL$/about), it is a Q&A site where every post is either a question or an answer to a question. Posts can also have [comments](http://$SITEURL$/help/privileges/comment) - small sentences like this one - that can be used to critique or request clarification from an author. This should be either a comment or a [new question](http://$SITEURL$/questions/ask).
  6.
  7. ###Answers just to say Thanks!
  8. Please don't add _"thanks"_ as answers. They don't actually provide an answer to the question, and can be perceived as noise by its future visitors. Once you [earn](http://meta.stackexchange.com/q/146472) enough [reputation](http://$SITEURL$/help/whats-reputation), you will gain privileges to [upvote answers](http://$SITEURL$/help/privileges/vote-up) you like. This way future visitors of the question will see a higher vote count on that answer, and the answerer will also be rewarded with reputation points. See [Why is voting important](http://$SITEURL$/help/why-vote).
  9.
  10. ###Link-only answer
  11. A link to a potential solution is always welcome, but please [add context around the link](http://meta.stackexchange.com/a/8259) so your fellow users will have some idea what it is and why it’s there. Always quote the most relevant part of an important link, in case the target site is unreachable or goes permanently offline. Take into account that being _barely more than a link to an external site_ is a possible reason as to [Why and how are some answers deleted?](http://$SITEURL$/help/deleted-answers).
  12.
  13. ###Spam
  14. Excessive promotion of a specific product/resource may be perceived by the community as **spam**. Take a look at the [help], specially [What kind of behavior is expected of users?](http://$SITEURL$/help/behavior)'s last section: _Avoid overt self-promotion_. You might also be interested in [How do I advertise on $SITENAME$?](http://$SITEURL$/help/advertising).
  15.
  16. ###Not an answer
  17. This does not provide an answer to the question. To critique or request clarification from an author, leave a comment below their post - you can always comment on your own posts, and once you [earn](http://meta.stackexchange.com/q/146472) sufficient [reputation](http://$SITEURL$/help/whats-reputation) you will be able to [comment on any post](http://$SITEURL$/help/privileges/comment). If you have a related but different question, [ask a new question](http://$SITEURL$/questions/ask) referencing this one if it will help provide context.
  18.
  19. ###'Me too!'
  20. Please don't add _Me too!_ as answers. It doesn't actually provide an answer to the question and can be perceived as noise by its future visitors. If you have a different but related question, then [ask](http://$SITEURL$/questions/ask) it (reference this one if it will help provide context). If you're interested in this specific question, you can [upvote](http://$SITEURL$/help/privileges/vote-up) it or leave a [comment](http://$SITEURL$/help/privileges/comment) once you have enough [reputation](http://$SITEURL$/help/whats-reputation).
  21.
  22. ###[A] Identical answer
  23. Please don't add the same answer to multiple questions. Answer the best one and flag the rest as duplicates. See [Is it acceptable to add a duplicate answer to several questions?](http://meta.stackexchange.com/q/104227)
  24.
  25. ###Link only (SO link)
  26. This should be a comment, not an answer. If it is a duplicate question then [vote to close](http://$SITEURL$/help/privileges/close-questions) as such and/or leave a comment once you [earn](http://meta.stackexchange.com/q/146472) enough [reputation](http://$SITEURL$/help/whats-reputation). If the question is not a duplicate then tailor the answer to this specific question.
  27.
  28. ###[Q] More than one question asked
  29. It is preferred if you can post separate questions instead of combining your questions into one. That way, it helps the people answering your question and also others hunting for at least one of your questions. Thanks!
  30.
  31. ###[Q] Duplicate Closure
  32. This question will probably be closed as a duplicate soon. If the answers from the duplicates don't fully address your question please edit it to include why and flag this for re-opening. Thanks!
  33.
  34. ###[A] Requests to OP for further information
  35. This is really a comment, not an answer. With a bit more rep, [you will be able to post comments](//$SITEURL$/privileges/comment). For the moment I've added the comment for you, and I'm flagging this post for deletion.
  36.
  37. ###[A] OP using an answer for further information
  38. Please use the *Post answer* button only for actual answers. You should modify your original question to add additional information.
  39.
  40. ###[EQ] Improper tagging
  41. The tags you were using are not appropriate for this question. Please review [What are tags, and how should I use them?](//$SITEURL$/help/tagging)
