As a mod, our job is to be neutral as possible. When you A) Let your emotions get the best of you, and B) Incite arguements for pretty much no reason, that is not exactly neutral modding.

[01.01.2014 22:48:58] Alecyte: I just want to touch base since we have a lot of new people about what we expect around the /r/Smite Moderation Team.

    We expect you to moderate first and foremost. You're here to moderate... you're not here to take part in heated discussions. If you want to take part in more controversial discussions make a second account or excuse yourself from being a mod here.

    We expect you to be fair. Everyone has a bad day every now and then. First offenders don't always deserve to be perma banned from /r/Smite. Show some compassion and try to see the situation from the user's point of view.

    Enforce the rules. We have a list of them - it's fairly simple. If you can't make a decision on something bring it to the table... you'll always get a friendly answer. On certain issues the whole team will even get involved in making a decision together.

    Don't throw each other under the bus. If you disagree with another mod or some of our practices. Take it up privately with us in mod mail - don't call each other out in public places or threads.

    Privacy is key. Everything we discuss in our universal Skype call or in mod mail needs to stay there. It doesn't need to be shared with other users, screenshot and posted, or shared with Hi-Rez.

These are just some of the key things I wanted to touch base on and just remind everyone of. Just act like human beings and treat others the same way. We're here to moderate /r/Smite and do it with some type of respect for the users that come here.
