@Punchweasel I mean, the point of the idea is that rumors of "vampires" came about because of these mages, but aren't actually real. At least, that's what I was thinking.
Here's what I got: At some point, Bavrus' blood was spilt somehow, and a human happened to consume it. He, Tiron, became the god of wisdom, and used half of his power to bestow magic upon some of humanity.
Also, hmm... Okay, let's say you have the Cosmic Man. The origin point of all humanity, a titanic figure (and not just in the sense of size). His blood is what you use to work magic, and all living men have it, in greater or lesser amounts.
