anne: i know i'm not your 'real' mom. not the one who raised you. but you're my son. and my friend. so. i'll try to make up for what you've lost, okay?
gerome: ....okay.
anne: you, uh. you wanna hug it out?
gerome: i suppose so.
[they hug. it's adorable.]
anne: you're a good kid, gerome.  i love you.
gerome: i love you too...mother.
[a beat, as both of them process what's been said. gerome's eyes snap open and anne breaks out into a grin as she pulls back]
anne: you called me 'mother'.
gerome, panicked: no i didn't
anne: you dID YOU CALLED ME MOTHER
gerome, visibly red: NO I DIDN'T I NEED TO GO [bolts]
anne: GEROOOOME NO COME BACK! SON! CALL ME MOM ONE MORE TIME
gerome: BEGONE YOU HARPY
anne, cackling while yelling: DON'T TALK TO YOUR MAMA THAT WAY GEROME!!! COME BAAAAACK
