Ludum Dare 32: An Unconventional Weapon

because i'm too lazy to experiment with any other genres, I plan to make:
	CHATANMAKU 2.5: Barrage Restaurant ~ Bountiful Food
		a.k.a CH2.5 - BRB Food

The theme was accompanied by an image of a spoon, so I almost immediately thought of food. I think this could work pretty well because of danmaku's ability to be made of literally anything, and the fact that food isn't usually used as a weapon, right
	right?

This will be a 3 stage game in the style of Great Fairy Wars, although I'll be lucky if I finish two for the jam. The only player character will be Jolly, as bubbles are a rather uncommon method of attack. The plot of this game is that he goes to a recently opened restaurant and then bullets happen

An interesting mechanic i thought of, apart from the frequent use of food-based attacks, is the use of Jolly's bubbles to collect cutlery. Things get pretty messy when it's all being shot in every direction, so he thought he could help organize it. Enemies in stages (and maybe bosses between attacks) will drop fork, knife, and spoon items that fill up a respective gauge. When the sum of these gauges reach a certain value, the C button can be used to activate Jolly's Pizza Sauce Mode i think it was called (red text). In this state, he will gain a different bonus depending on what cutlery value is the greatest:
	Fork -Pick out the best parts-: Gain items (points, power, life/bombs) whenever a bullet is grazed, graze hitbox size increases
	Knife -Slice through enemy attacks-: Jolly's shot bubbles hold knives in them; they do more damage and pierce through enemies
	Spoon -Scoop out a safe place-: Hitbox size decreases, every few seconds all (or most types of) bullets within a certain radius are erased
While one cutlery effect is active, if the other two values have a sum greater than the Sauce Requirement, then you can choose one more to activate alongside the first one. You can't have more than two active at a time though.

Bosses:
	Stage 1 - Shammy - Muffin Master
		the restaurant serves breakfast too, although tbh there's no wrong time for muffins
	Stage 2 - Serp - Jelly Jack
		to add flavor, all of the meals are covered in it. every single one
	Stage 3 - Beans - Legume Leader
		the creator of the restaurant. not responsible for consumed beans exploding into lasers
