  11. OVERVIEW
  12. The Drakean Kingdom, or Drakea, was founded in 12AE by King Helknirr the Dweller, having retaken former Imperial territory from the crumbling Pod-Delkan state. Like its predecessors, Kingdom of Drakea and The Empire, it sought rapid expansion, and in two hundred years' time the well recovered realm enjoys the title of one of the most successful and well developed lands in the world, even after its frequent wars with its hostile neighbour, Blazia.
  13. The society of Drakea revolves around respect of traditions and labor, but as the core region of a once great empire it saw much development in the field of construction and infrastructure, agriculture, technology, magic and education, and state law, to the point where even after several times of severe turmoil which caused much problems to arise, Drakea quickly picked up its pieces and returned to its previous glory.

  15. TRADE, GOVERNMENT, ARMY
  16. While Drakeans don't boast many resource riches, they make up for it in production of goods and preservable food. Meat and grains are a key product of the farmers, while the rivers themselves carry much precious stones and metal dust in them, which is then refined into gold, silver, and the like. They ar then traded and exported for other raw materials, of which there is much demand.
  17. (Post-)Imperial reforms have created a very effective Royal Governing Body, split into the Royal Constables and the Royal Commora. The Constables are paid officials which act as judges, militia, and administrators. The Commorans are elected by popular vote and assist and discuss important questions with the King. They pass laws and deal with top management and intrigue.
  18. The army works on a quota levy, where 10% of all men from a settlement are drafted as levy for the army. The service is a yearly rotation, and all generals are elected by the King.
  19.
  20. REICHPORT
  21. Reichport is the oldest cities of mankind, the former seat of The Empire, and the most populous city known on the coast of Starfall, as well as the rest of the wider area around it. It is a coastal city, where the majority of the people live around the Crescent Palace, which serves as the King's residence.
  22. The residential districts are shaped like semi-circles and are separated with walls and canals through which trade ships pass. Outer Wall's Western wing, however, has collapsed during the siege 200 years ago, and numerous modern manufactories were erected over its ruins. The rest of the Outer Wall is unmanned by the Reichgarda, and is now surrounded by mostly low-class urban homes.
  23. The Inner City boasts many noble houses and palaces, which serve as high class residences, trade and business facilities, or even academies, of which there are several. All three of them are booming with demands, and might find interest into seeking assistance from outsiders.
  24. While the city is mostly kept in perfect order by the Reichgarda, the Undercity is a place of much trouble. Criminals, cultists, malpractitioners and monsters lurk in its many ancient crypts, tunnels, and sewer canals, whose constant additions made them into a damp, dark labyrinth of hidden horrors.
  25.
  26. WEST DRAKEA
  27. Aranea, or West Drakea, is a region that comprises the majority of the flatlands which trail the Coastal region of Drakea. It serves as a home for the majority of the realm's population, as well as its urban centers and economy. Organized farms, towns, and villages follow the multitude of rivers and canals which fertilize the farming soil. Deforestation has removed many critters from the region, and the few intriguing monsters are confined to the forests around Festinger which also double as the Royal Nature Reserve, making them only legal for hunting by permission of the Constables.
  28. The region boasts an elaborate network of roads and trade routes. The most important trade city in the region is Bazil, a walled port city which houses the mother fleet of the Starline Banner Company. Agram and Drakebandir are new cities created thanks to the post-empire economic boom, while Sondt serves as a key hub leading to Kengora.
  29. As an evidence of its agricultural past, there are somewhat renovated ruins of an ancient agricultural facility on the roadway between Bazil and Drakebandir. The locals which sometimes hide their cattle inside it dubbed it "Crossmill Farm", as the central windmills point towards the four major cities around it.
  30. Fort Adder, near Agram, serves as Drakea's biggest military facility, as well as a hub for any potential elite and mercenary unita. Its tall castle tower makes it an excellent point of reference for travelers, and those which seek to make a profit in war.

  32. SUNSHADE HILLS
  33. The secretive hilly forests of Sunshade have always been a focal point of interest for all nations around it. Its wooden mysticism is populated by magical creatures, both of good and bad will, hiding and lurking in the shadows, far away from onlookers and travelers. Should one venture further into its shadows however, they are bound to find many oddities. Rumors say that the dragons were birthed in Sunshade. Others claim that the Fey protect the legendary Lake of Youth found within it.
  34. What is also important to know about Sunshade is its seclusion. Being the least populated part of Drakea, while also being a highly magically charged region, led to the local populace being reduced to only a handful of ranger constables, several path-side villages, and the magically-enabled groups' homes making up the known populace. A plethora of undesirables also settled themselves in the Hills, however. Highwaymen, rapists and murderers, necromancers, heretics, they have all found a residence within the shades, making man as dangerous as the flora and fauna.
  35. Sunshade does however display several shining examples of civilization. The ruins of Pinil-Kol, the northernmost Elven city that ever existed, is a well known hiding spot of humans and magical beings alike, which use its marble fortress and stone underground halls as shelter. Near the local trail is also Castle Untilorr, the Cradle of Wisdom. It is used as Gilda Magicanta's headquarters and their only untampered archive, which has been granted much importance after the civil war and currently houses several thousand magically enabled individuals. The current Cradlemaster and Bookkeeper of the complex is Thiller Mastbinder, a seasoned local and a very powerful wizard.

  37. EAST DRAKEA(LOWER SCALIA)
  38. Lower Scalia, the sub-peninsular plateau located north of the Scalian jungle, and Eastwards, across the Great Dragon River, is Drakea's latest acquisition. Taken from Blazia in a long-winded and bloody cobflict that lasted for some 15 years, King Oreld II proclaimed himself ruler of East Drakea in 205AE, thus annexing it.
  39. The region is devastated. Frequent exploitation of land and the change of borsers caused depopulation and mass abandoning of cities. Most farms and lake dikes were destroyed after Blazia's Retreat, causing major floods and creation of the Mudfields. Sewers have not been functional for a long time. With the collapse of constable control, power fell into the military's hands and soon enough people entered in open revolt against the Drakeans. A massacre later, and cities were once more depopulated, both by mass killings and people shifting into the swamps to become bandits and marauders.
  40. Economically, there is not much to hope for. Rice fields, logging, and fish production have been the staple of the region for centuries, but since the civil war the situation became more and more dire. Right now, the easiest way to make money is by acting out the will of the military, or by marauding the few people that stayed.
  41. East Drakea's safest city is Evani. It also doubles as the main fortress of the Cross-river Army, whose current leader is General Arrist Martel. The Army is mostly focused on watching over the other cities and the Bottleneck Forest, in case if Blazians attempt to raid the country and retake it. A ferry line travels between Kros and West Drakea every week, making it the safest method of travel. Bondi, meanwhile, has been undergoing more than the usual criminal acts and famines. Lizard tribesmen frequently attempt to raid the unwalled city, looting the port abd the houses they break into. The few remaining landholders vowed to eradicate the invading tribe, but have so far turned up with no results.
