  1. I am a kung-fu teacher at South Florida Wing Chun Academy, I will happily train anyone who feels the need to protect themselves without requiring strength or size on their part, and in a way that is undetectable and unremovable by any would-be attackers...
  2.
  3. I do not believe open carry would provide that same safety, or benefit.
  4.
  5. I believe open carry is social progress back sliding.. It's unsafe and will likely unjustifiably increase gun ownership. I believe guns have their place, but that place is in the hands of well trained emotionally intelligent people, this is unlikely with everyone feeling the need to show their gun. Gun safety is not bi-directional, if you have a gun and it makes you feel safe, it will make others feel disadvantaged and less safe unless they too are equipped or you are law enforcement.

  7. A concealed permit is more then enough, Florida is already very unrestricted on firearms and everyone can arm themselves appropriately as it already stands.
  8.
  9. Women voters seem to oppose this bill and considering research in this area showing increases in gun ownership negatively affects their safety; it is quite logical to do so. cite http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3456383/
  10.
  11. Maybe everyone one should consider the logical conclusion that for every 1% increase in gun ownership comes a smaller or equal increase in gun deaths, accidents, suicides, etc.
  12. Real statistics and supportable logic beyond common sense are hard to get because the NRA actually goes after the appropriations committee's of scientific departments trying to determine them.. cite http://www.nytimes.com/2011/01/26/us/26guns.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0
  13.
  14. I believe the NRA is riding a wave of fear, but understand there have been no correlation with increased gun ownership and decreased crime, the ability to even make a correlation for sure is being purposely sabotaged by them. There have been no mass shootings that were stopped by armed citizens in the past 30 years and open carry will essentially turn firearms into a fashion statement, as such you will increase people wanting them and every additional person with a firearm is an increased accident potential for everyone near them.
