  1. >You are desperate.
  2. >You’re sitting on your apartment floor sulking. You cannot afford to pay rent, so you’re being kicked out tomorrow.
  3. >You were just fired from your desk job. You’ve been really fucking depressed.
  4. >No family to help you, no friend to lend a hand.
  5. >Booze is your fuel, your motivation. It’s what keeps you going.
  6. >What you’re doing is autistic and very rash.
  7. >You draw out a hexagram with a sharpie and complete it with a circle.
  8. >You place a single Nyx plush in the center and six candles on each point of the star.
  9. “Please, please… hear me. I no longer wish to live in this word. I have nothing here! I WILL DO ANYTHING, JUST PLEASE TAKE ME!”
  10. >After some screeching with the kitchen knife in your hand, you sloppily sever Nyx’s head.
  11. >The plush’s beads spill out into the circle. There is one thing left to do.
  12. >You lay your head into the center of it all and begin to sob.
  13. ”I’m such a fucking degenerate, I don’t deserve to live…”
  14. >Ten minutes and it should work… Wait, you think you forgot a step.
  15. >You look up from the mess you made. Nothing. Fuckin’ bullshit dude.
  16. >In a fit of pure rage, you kick all of the candles and attempt to punt the plush, causing you to stumble and hit your head against the wall.
  17. >Hello darkness my old friend...
  18. >You awake with a splitting headache and a bright ass light shining in your face.
  19. >Doing stupid shit last night, weren't you? You should probably get up and beg the apartment manager some extra time to pay rent.
  20. >You raise a hand in attempt to evade the light.
  21. >"Oh good, he's awake."
  22. >Your heart lurches.
  23. "The fuck-- Who's there!?"
  24. >You shoot up from laying down to sitting, covering your face.
  25. >"Um, Tenderheart. You can stop that now."
  26. >The light seizes with a click.
  27. >"Oh, my bad... You're in the hospital, sir. How are you feeling, um... What's your name?"
  28. >You're taken aback by how soft this woman's voice is. You look to where the voice came from.
  29. >Probably should try opening your eyes, dumb ass.
  30.
  31. >Oh cool, you ARE in a hospital and laying in a white bed.
  32. “Where are my clothes?”
  33. >Shouldn't you be in a hospital gown and not butt-fucking naked?
  34. “You didn’t have any on when we found you.”
  35. >Hey, what’s that blue and green thing in the corner of your eye?
  36. >Your gaze is met with a warm smile and large eyes.
  37. >That’s bullshit, humans shouldn’t have eyes that big.
  38. >Your head is still pretty foggy. You must have nearly drank yourself to death again.
  39. >Disregarding what you see, you blink a few times.
  40. >The light blue mare with green hair isn’t going away. Fuck, why does it remind you of something?
  41. >Seeing shit. Might as well go with the flow.
  42. >She must be Tenderheart.
  43. >Didn’t she say something?
  44. “Uhh-- Yeah, the name’s Anonymous. I think I’m seeing things. Why am I here?”
  45. >Another mare this time white with pink hair joins the other nurse's side at your bed.
  46. >”Wait, I’ll tell you what we know in a second. Hallucinations? How vivid are they?”
  47. >You blink some more at the two mares and scratch your head; which has bandages covering it. Must have hit your head real good last night.
  48. “Like… Very real, but cartoon-ish…”
  49. >Something clicks into place.
  50. “... And it’s like you’re something from MLP.”
  51. >That brings up even more uncertainty. What exactly were you doing last night?
  52. >But first, holy shit, they’re going to think you're straight retarded.
  53. >”Uh, MLP? Isn’t that like a ping-pong thing or something? Redheart, we’re going to have to get Dr. Bluepill!”
  54. “Wait… No you’re horses not ping-pong!”
  55. >You cringe at your sudden outburst.
  56. >Redheart trots up to the side of your bed looking into your eyes, narrowing hers. “Hmm, you certain you’re hallucinating?”
  57. >Holy fuck, this is surreal. You reach out to the mare.
  58. “Let me feel you… I need to see if this is real.”
  59. >Redheart looks past you to Tenderheart, who just shrugs.
  60. >”Sure… Go ahead, Anonymoose.”
  61. >You slowly reach over and bring your hand into contact with her face. Her fur is soft and very real.
  62.
  63. >You flinch. You didn’t expect to feel anything at all.
  64. >Realization hits you. You remember all of last night.
  65. >It actually worked, didn’t it? That or you put yourself into a coma.
  66. “Nope, no hallucinations… Just a headache. So, um… Mrs. Readheart. What happened?”
  67. >Redheart returns to Tenderheart's side.
  68. >You push your legs over to the side of the bed, ready to try walking. You remember how very naked you are.
  69. >Naked cartoon horses shouldn't care. Do they even have genitals?
  70. >You're reassured to find yours still there.
  71. >"You were lying on the hospital's door steps, literally. We noticed you had a cracked skull, you were in pretty bad shape.”
  72. >"Were you assaulted? Do you remember anything, like how you were hurt?" Tenderheart adds.
  73. >Actually, I was performing some autistic ritual and hit my head all while drinking.
  74. "I don't know."
  75. >"I've reported this; Perhaps somepony will have some clue as to what happened. Somepony had to have dropped you off here. I figure you were attacked. Maybe your attacker is the one left you here, because of course nopony seen anypony drop you off, which wouldn’t be something a friend would do. Another thing, I've never seen your kind here in Ponyville, which adds to the bizarreness of the matter."
  76. >Being in a coma must suck if this is one.
  77. >You rise onto two feet. You're light-headed.
  78. >That and realizing you have nowhere in the room to actually walk to, you sit back down.
  79. >"We want you to stay here for the night and have a doctor to come and check up on you. Our magic has healed you for the most part, but it can only do so much. Your injury should be healed, just sore."
  80. >Where would you even go, now that you’re here?
  81.
  82. >You think back to last night. How did that even work? Some supernatural forces must have heard upon your plea and granted your wish.
  83. >You were drunk. In a sober mind, you don’t think you would have ever thought that would work. Thank god for booze.
  84. >Maybe you died in this is your personal heaven.
  85. >Couldn’t be. He would have sent your ass straight to hell. God earns some serious homie points if he does exist though. Think about it later Anon.
  86. >Euphoria briefly washes over you as you ponder the opportunity of new life this world presents.
  87. >You look into Tenderheart’s eyes. Boy, those eyes make you feel nervous. She’s one cute mare.
  88. >But you are human; not horse. There are Spike and Rarity, surely incompatible species can form those sort of mutual feelings. Just your luck: let it be every species, but pony can.
  89. “Well, um, anonymous sir, if you need anything, just request for our assistance.”
  90. >Looks like you’re laying your first day in bed.
  91. >You sigh and snuggle back into your pillow.
  92. “Thanks, I appreciate all the help… am I going to be billed for this?”
  93. >”I don’t see why we would. We do this for the goodwill of ponykind.”
  94. >Ah, they must be paid by the government or something from tax dollars. Fucking liberals, I want to pay for my health care.
  95. >The two nurses nod your direction and head off out of your room, shutting the door.
  96. >You look around your environment. Boring. White and dull. A box on the wall with a red cross. A mirror on the wall to its side.
  97. >Let's see how much damage you’ve done.
  98. >You’re back to your feet. You don’t feel dizzy this time. You notice a dark red blanket on the floor next to your bed and swipe it into your grasp. You tie it around your neck to form a cloak-like thing to cover your body. Something about going naked doesn’t feel right.
  99. >Your tense muscles do not react well to the change in motion, so it hurts somewhat to get going.
  100. >Your form stares back at you in the mirror.
  101. >Your bandages are likely unnecessary because they said you’re healed. It might just be there to keep down swelling.
  102. >You pull at the bandages which are wrapped tight around your head. You tear at the ones that wrap under your chin and the whole thing comes off with ease.
  103. >Turning your head discloses no abnormal marks or missing hair. Good to know horse magic works on you.
  104. >Absolutely nothing about you changed. Apart from a nagging headache, you feel ready to explore.
  105. >On a second thought, they wouldn’t think very well of you to just get up and leave after you were asked to stay the night. Fuck it, it is no different than how you came here anyway.
  106. >You open up the red cross medicine box. You sift through the cabinet and find what you are looking for. Sick, a bottle labeled painkillers. You don’t know how strong they are, so you just take half a pill.
  107. >Let's think of a plan, Anon. How can you go about leaving here without getting caught?
  108. >You walk up to the window and look about the landscape. To your luck you are on the bottom floor.
  109. >It looks to be about evening. Waiting until night would almost defeat the purpose. You also have nowhere to go in particular either way.
  110. >You find a hatch on the bottom of the window and pull it open. Your body is met with a slightly cool, refreshing air.
  111. >Out we go. Let’s introduce the world to Anonymous.
  112. >You never actually needed to come up with a plan, you easily escape the sight of the hospital. Hopefully your disappearance doesn’t incite anyone’s concern.
  113. >You know it will.
  114.
  115. >A good two hundred yards ahead of you lie houses, and just ahead of that rests the town hall.
  116. >The right of you lies a creek, which separates you from a forest full of apple trees.
  117. >Your stomach growls and your throat burns.
  118. >You drop down to the bed of the creek and get your fill, the cool water soothing your throat.
  119. >Hopefully there aren't parasites or bacteria in ponyland.
  120. >You untie your cloak and toss it over the creek. Almost over the creek.
  121. “Goddamnit...”
  122. >The current swiftly carries it along and pulls it under.
  123. >Good job, you lost your only possession. Whatever, it’s stolen.
  124. >You wade through the water, making it to the other side. You shiver as a breeze blows through.
  125. >Winter must be coming soon.
  126. >You find a short enough tree that you can reach from.
  127. >You jump up and swipe one out of the tree. Tastes nice and sweet. You could handle a couple more.
  128. >You finish your last apple, and you notice the pain ebbing away. Part of it must have been because of how hungry you were.
  129. >Feeling rejuvenated, you decide to go pay Applehorse a visit.
  130. >You look about the forest. Nothing but several hundred acres of apple trees.
  131. >A dirt road cuts through it all, likely leading to the farm. You also find a bridge not a hundred feet from where you stand. How did you not see that before?
  132. >You shudder. Your actions feel they aren't that of your own.
  133. >The absurdity of the entire situation you're in dawns upon you. You’re buttnaked in Ponyland, with no real sense of direction or purpose, and now you’re going to see your least favorite pony.
  134. >The dirt road isn’t very pleasant to walk on. It is littered with rocks. Not only that, the dirt clings to your still damp feet.
  135. >Probably should have just stayed in the hospital. Holy fuck you’re a retard.
  136. >You trek along the road for a good ten minutes before you finally come to a stop. Your feet fucking hurt, man.
  137. >This isn’t helping your already deteriorating state of mind.
  138.
  139. >You will walk on the grass among the trees instead. Oh, the grass feels so much better.
  140. >In the distance you locate the red house and barn, with its plowed fields and crops.
  141. >The sun sets across the horizon, the landscape succumbing to a dull gray.
  142. >You’re now at the front door of the house and knock a few times.
  143. >You wait a full minute. Nothing.
  144. >You knock again, this time hard enough that it gives you a splinter.
  145. >You immediately move your hand to your mouth to suck on it.
  146. >“...Who in tarnation.. This time a‘day?”
  147. >The door swings open.
  148. “Could you help me, please?”
  149. >Applejack visually jumps back at the sight of you and retreats behind the door.
  150. “Yo, it’s alright I’m friendly chill, I just need your help please!”
  151. >Applejack reluctantly steps out and looks you up and down.
  152. >”Can’t say ah’ve ever seen anythin’ like ya before…”
  153. “Well, you see, I’m actually not from around here… Very far away place actually. Along the way of my travels I think I was attacked or something, I got hit in the head pretty hard...”
  154. >Let's just leave out the hospital part.
  155. “...and I woke up along the road and followed it here. My head isn’t feeling too good.”
  156. >The latter isn’t true anymore, but it should help your story.
  157. >”Say no more! I’m always willin’ to help somepony in need. You don’t look too good either. Come in, ah’ve got a spare bed. Ah bet yer hungry too.
  158. >You follow her inside.
  159. >”Ah’m Applejack, yours?”
  160. “Anonymous… but you can call me Anon. I really appreciate this, by the way.”
  161.
  162. >The entire house is made up of wood, the walls being southern and ornate. You follow Applejack to your room.
  163. >”Yer welcome, Ahnon. Here ya are. Ah can bring ya somethin’ to eat, if you’d like.”
  164. >You plop down into your bed and sigh. You’re pretty tired from a good hour of walking.
  165. ”Yeah, that would be great.”
  166. >You smile at her, and she leaves you alone in the room.
  167. >Better than being in a hospital bed. This place is pretty cozy.
  168. >Applejack is back carrying a bowl of stew with her mouth, and sets it on the bed for you. You graciously accept and give her your thanks.
  169. >“Hmm, I was thinkin’ Ahnon. You could work on the farm here, and I could pay, feed, and of course let ya sleep here when you get feelin’ better. I’d also like ya to meet a friend of mine. She should be able to help us figure out who did this to you. Curious, do ya remember why you was traveling here in the first place?”
  170. “Umm…”
  171. >You don’t really want to fake amnesia, it would just create problems for you in the future. You’re likely the only human here, and you’re certain she would know of any bullshit place you could say you came from.
  172. >God dammit, you’re going to have to fake amnesia.
  173. “I don’t actually remember all the details...”
  174. >You feel the urge to reveal your knowledge about the show. You could pretend to be omniscient. Hell, your situation would likely get you a meeting with all of the princesses. But now isn’t the time.
  175. >A place to stay with food and you could earn a few bits. That doesn’t sound too bad.
  176. “I’ll take up your offer...”
  177.
  178. >She also wants you to meet one of her friends, probably Twilight.
  179. >Twilight… She knows what humans look like, doesn’t she? You don’t look exactly like humans do in EQG, but you're close enough. If the story got around about a strange creature found at the hospital, the descriptions would surely match what Twilight is familiar with. She'd likely think you came through the portal.
  180. “... And who’s this friend you want me to meet?”
  181. >You had forgot about the bowl in your hands. You wonder how they use spoons exactly.
  182. >Eww, fuck, it has cabbage in it. Well, it isn’t that bad, so stop being a bitch Anon.
  183. >”Well, to be honest, you sorta remind me of somethin’ she once told me about. I bet she’d know how to help ya. Don’t worry, she’s real nice and all, I bet you’d like her.”
  184.
  185. >You have absolutely no good reason to object. But fuck, you’re going to have to spill some of the beans later.
  186. “Thanks, for all of this. I can’t wait to meet her.”
  187. >”I’m going to hit the hay, Ahnon. Just sit that bowl on the nightstand when you're done, ok?”
  188. >You nod and wish her a good night. You finish the stew and set it to the side.
  189. >Time to get even more sleep.
  190. >The bed invites you in, and you wrap yourself in the blankets.
  191.
  192. >You find yourself back amid a place all too familiar. You rise from the floor and find yourself lying still where you stand. A single nail protrudes from the wall, the accessory in which help inflict this fate upon you. Your attention falls upon your lifeless body.
  193. >Your head is gushing blood, contributing to the pool that grows around it. You reach down, trying to cover the wound with your hand as if to conclude it’s never ceasing flow. The blood runs red through your fingers, proving no avail. You cry out in terror as you watch your life end before you from your foreign eyes.
  194. >”There is no going back…”
  195. >Your body’s features dissolve, and the room melts. You’re left afloat in endless nothingness, engulfed in its darkness.
  196. >Your screams do not traverse the air. It leaves you breathless, it becoming thicker than tar. Your limbs refuse to take action against your plight.
  197. >”Everything comes at a price.”
  198. >As if a giant hand grasps your body, you feel you're being crushed.
  199. >A single light penetrates the darkness; the nail from before accelerates and collides with your skull, the very spot from before.
  200. >You awake screaming, with that voice resonating in your mind. Phantom pain shoots through your skull.
  201. >Sunlight pierces through the windows. Shouts of alarm sound throughout the house.
  202. >Big Mac, Applebloom, and Applejack rush into the room.
  203. >The scene you cause leaves you embarrassed.
  204. "Um, Ahnon, you OK?"
  205. >Applebloom stands next to your bed, her eyes wide with concern. Applejack and Bigmac look somewhat relieved when they found nothing to be wrong.
  206. >You stop grasping your head and sigh.
  207. “Just a bad dream… I’m alright.”
  208. >Applebloom is wide eyed. ”You sure were screaming awfully loud, I’d thought you was dyin’ or somethin’.”
  209. >You blush.
  210. “I’m sorry if I woke any of you up… I’m feeling ok now.”
  211. >You get up out of bed and stretch.
  212. >Applejack trots up to you.
  213. >“How’s your head feelin’?”
  214. >You rub where the nail hit your head, almost expecting it to find it lodged there.
  215. “Fine actually… not foggy anymore.”
  216. >”That’s good. Ah was actually ‘bout to come wake ya up. Ah’ve made breakfast, come on.”
  217. >You follow Applejack and the others out and sit down at the kitchen table.
  218. >Applejack gestured to the seat next to her where you sit.
  219. >”Now ah didn’t know exactly what all you’d eat, hope you like it.”
  220. >You look around the table. Applebloom is already eating and Big Mac is staring at you with an expressionless look. He nods and continues eating.
  221. >She made Hashbrowns, eggs, and apple slices and left you a glass of orange juice. They probably eat apples with about everything.
  222. “Oh yeah, this is what I’d eat back at home.”
  223. >You dig into your hash browns and eggs. Damn, that’s good.
  224. >Applebloom looks at you curiously as you sip your juice.
  225. >”What exactly brings ya around here, Ahnon?”
  226. >You look over to Applejack, who obviously didn’t explain much of your situation to her.
  227. “Sort of a long story… I was traveling to find someplace else to live... Then something knocked me out and I woke up near your farm.”
  228. >Applejack stops eating and wipes her mouth with a napkin.
  229. >”Don’t worry, we’ll figure out what happened to ya. Ah actually want us to go see Twilight today.”
  230. “Twilights the friend you were talking about?”
  231. >”Oh. Yeah, I thought we could leave out a-”
  232. >”Now why didn’t y’all tell me breakfast was made? Yer ol’ granny is gonna starve to death!”
  233.
  234. >Granny Smith storms into the kitchen with a displeased look, and her eyes meet yours.
  235. >”Um Granny, you just got done eating breakfast earlier.”
  236. >“What’s this thing doin’ here? Ah didn’t know we had company.”
  237. >Fuck this bitch, you aren’t a thing.
  238. “I have you know I’m fully sentient and not a bloody animal.”
  239. >She narrows her eyes at you.
  240. >”What’s a bloody animal have to do with anything-- You said ah ate already? Huh, ah guess ah don’t feel hungry anyway. Y’all need to get ta’ work, farm can’t run itself, and winter's comin’!”
  241. >She does an one-eighty and leaves the kitchen.
  242. “That was… unexpected.”
  243. >Applejack looks to you and shrugs. ”Sorry, Grannies like that sometimes.”
  244. >You focus on finishing your breakfast and then help clean up.
  245. >”Ah’d like to leave now. Big Mac, could ya watch the farm? Applebloom should be getting to school too.”
  246. “First, you think I could get something to wear? I don’t exactly have any fur.”
  247. >Or a sheath either.
  248. >”Ah don’t know of anything that would fit you, but ah guess ah could look.”
  249. >You follow her up to a closet in which she pulls out a vest and some pants. No idea why they would keep those.
  250. >She hands them to you, and you slip on the vest first. Surprisingly it fits you, the sleeves are just extra big to accommodate hooves. The pants are the same way, just a little short on you.
  251. “Wouldn’t happen to have shoes that would fit me?”
  252. >”Hmm, ah don’t think we have any... Nope, sorry.”
  253. >Better than nothing.
  254. >You and Applejack make your way into Ponyville. It’s still early morning. The air is cool, the sky cloudy. You feel much better than you did yesterday, your thoughts no longer feel murky. Fuck, yesterday you were acting like a literal retard.
  255. >You wouldn’t be where you are now, though. Well, maybe, but who knows what could have happened.
  256. >You should probably make a good impression on Twilight. Just think of the opportunities having her as a friend would provide.
  257. >Ponies catch sight of you, some in awe. They smile and wave at you two before going about their business as you make your way through town.
  258. >You figure the familiarity of a face like Applejack only would help. Word about you likely got around as well. Hopefully your disappearance not as much. Makes you sound like you’re an animal that escaped.
  259. “You think I’ll fit into society just fine? It looks like I’m the only one around.”
  260. >Applejack thinks for a moment.
  261. >”Eh, ah think you’ll do fine when everypony gets used to ya. Ponyville is pretty welcomin’.”
  262. >You pass Sugarcube Corner and sure enough Pinkie Pie jumps out in front of you.
  263. >”Hi Applejack, who’s your friend!?”
  264. >”Hi Pinkie. This here’s Anonymous, Ah’m takin’ him to go see Twilight.”
  265. >”Oh, cool beans!”
  266. >Pinkie moves along to your side and follows the two of you.
  267. >”Hi Anon, I’m Pinkie Pie, I work over there at the Sugar Cube Corner,”
  268. >She points behind herself and continues, “Oh, and you can just call me Pinkie.”
  269. >She grins and holds out her hoof for you to shake. You grab hold and shake it awkwardly. She was apparently going for a fist bump. Smooth.
  270. >”You’re like, human? That’s SOOO cool. You’re seeing Twilight for that reason? Just the thing she would know about.”
  271. “Not just necessarily because I’m human-- How’d you know I was human?”
  272. >”Oh, just something Twilight was talking about after she came back from this portal...”
  273. >The corner of Applejacks mouth quirked up, her expression in thought.
  274.
  275. >”Actually, well… he’s had some trouble over the past few days. He thinks somepony attacked him and is sufferin’ a bit of memory loss. Ah wanna see if she can help him.”
  276. >”Sorry to hear, Anon. Oh, is it alright I call you Anon? Because it sounds cool and it's waaay shorter.”
  277. >”Of course.”
  278. >Pinkie stops mid trot.
  279. >”I’ve actually /really/ have to go back to the bakery though, hope you get everything worked out Anon. C’ya!”
  280. ”Later Pinkie.”
  281. >You wave good-bye as does Applejack. You return your attention to her.
  282. >”We’re actually right about there. Ya see that castle?”
  283. >You look ahead. A bluish crystal tree with gold doors forms the base of the castle and its branches spread up to the purple walls of above.
  284. >You act surprised. In all honesty the castle is breathtaking compared to just seeing it in the show.
  285. “Twilight lives in /there/? She must be of great importance or wealth.”
  286. >”Oh well ya, she’s the Princess of Friendship. Ah wouldn’t necessarily say of great wealth, though.“
  287. >You and Applejack make it up the golden steps of the castle. Applejack looks up to you and sighs.
  288. >”Actually, Ahnon. There was something else ah wanted to come here for. Ya see, Twilight has had some experience with yer, uh, kind. Ah got to thinkin’ last night and somethin’ she told me just sorta matched up with you. Ah’m sure she will explain.”
  289. >Of course, Twilight would have spoken about her experience with humans. That would make sense why she wants you to come to see her…
  290. >Applejack knocks on the door.
  291.
  292. >Looks like you’re going to have to tell more of the truth than you imagined.
  293. >No response. Applejack opens the door, and you follow her in. She isn’t required to have an invitation being who she is.
  294. >”Coming, I’m coming-- Oh, Hi Applejack, I was…”
  295. >Spike stops mid sentence after looking at you.
  296. >”Um…” Spikes pupils shrink.
  297. “We’re here to see Twilight.”
  298. >”She m--”
  299. >Spike cuts her off. ”She’s in the library.” Spike now seems to be analyzing you. “Hmm, she actually was looking for you, some news got out at the hospital… If that’s you.”
  300. >Spike scratches his chin. “But you don’t look the same.”
  301. >What is he getting at? Did he see you leave? What about you could have changed other than your clothes?
  302. >”Uh’m, hospital? What’s he talkin’ bout, Anon?” Her eyebrows furrow.
  303. >Fuck.
  304. “Well… I’ll explain everything with Twilight here, no need to repeat myself.”
  305. >Spike gestures to you two to follow.
  306. >”Let’s go see Twilight then!”
  307. >You and Applejack follow him up a set of stairs, a few corridors, and into the castle library.
  308. >All crystal, just more or less everything in the castle has been either blue, like the walls, or purple, which is basically all of the floors. The windows are a light green tint, and the doors seem to be mostly gold.
  309. >The library is like a cylinder, with rows and rows of shelves stacked one after the other around the walls of the room.
  310. >Crystal branches extend to the very crest of the ceiling, which is well over twenty feet; much higher than the rest of the castle.
  311. >The room is illuminated by several green-tinted windows near the roof.
  312. >Many tables lie about the room, one being in the center where Twilight sits.
  313. >”Hey Twilight, here’s who you’ve been looking for!”
  314. >Spike hurries over to Twilight; you and Applejack approach casually.
  315. >”Good evenin’ Twilight.”
  316. >You sit down right next to the purple mare, her eyes never leaving you. You meet her breathless gaze, grinning.
  317. “I’m Anonymous, and I’m from another dimension.”
  318.
  319. >Applejack stares at you, flabbergasted. Twilight and Spike look at you with questioning stares. They must have figured that anyhow. Applejack probably believed your little story. You sorta hate lying to the element who represents just the opposite.
  320. “Left with no other options in life, I resorted to using a sacred but prohibited ritual which brought me release from that world and into this one. Found lying outside of the hospital, I was brought into their care. I woke, learning I suffered the wound inflicted upon my head during the ritual. With my very judgement foreign to me, I irrationally decided to leave. I followed a road, leading to Applejack’s farm. She, which I dearly appreciate, fed me and let me stay the night. She suggested that we were to come to see you, due to your knowledge of my kind.”
  321. >Yesterday, it really did feel as if some unknown entity had influence over your actions; a thought in your head encouraging you to leave. You decide not to reveal anything more of your knowledge yet.
  322. “So what do you know of my kind?”
  323. >You look to Applejack, who wants to say something. Twilight speaks instead.
  324. >”Spike and I, awhile ago, ended up traversing a portal which brought us to a world full of humans… The only thing is, you don’t look like the kind of human I’m familiar with. The humans I saw had colorful hair and skin not quite like yours. They also had much larger eyes.”
  325. ”The only colors of skin my world has is white, black, and brown, many things in between. All of our eyes are mostly the same size, some smaller, like chinks.”
  326. >”Yeah, so that means he didn’t come through the portal!” Spike adds.
  327. >”Right, even if so, the portal wouldn’t have taken him to the hospital.”
  328. >Twilight taps her chin with her hoof. “This really is strange, I’d like to learn as much as I can.”
  329. >”So that ritual… How does it work?”
  330. “To be honest, I didn’t think it would work myself. My world was magic-less.”
  331. >”So was the world I stepped into, well, before part of this dimension became involved. Magic actually leaked into their world.”
  332.
  333. >"I turned into a human upon entering that world, and I'm certain the opposite would happen to a human traveling to Equestria, so it definitely was not the portal."
  334. “My world has millions of people killing each other over opinions of divine creation… Pretty cruel place sometimes. It also had amazing technology, most waaay far beyond my comprehension. Weapons of mass destruction that could destroy entire countries, ones that could easily fire projectiles faster than the speed of sound…”
  335. >Stop being edgy, you shouldn't hate on your old world too much. You just wasn't getting anywhere in life.
  336. “...But not all of it was bad. Society in general was good-hearted.”
  337. >”I actually wouldn’t know if it did, to answer the first part. Millions of people... Wars? That's horrible, I wouldn't blame you for wanting to leave it. Well, I have seen some technology, like computers and something called the ‘Internet’. It all amazes me, I’d really love to know more.”
  338. “My world had those things and something else I probably need to tell you about, because it does me no good to hide it.”
  339. >Twilight’s ears perk up in anticipation.
  340. >"But I should tell you about that later.”
  341. >Applejack finally speaks. “So Ahnon, you didn’t tell me this because?”
  342. “I actually couldn’t remember at all where I came from, I did hit my head pretty hard you know. I started to remember things after I woke up and decided it was best I waited until we met this friend of yours.”
  343. >Not entirely true. It seems to do the trick for her though. So much for being honest to the element of honesty.
  344. >”If you wouldn’t mind, Anon, I’d like to have you stay here in the castle. I’d like to learn about this world of yours and well, about you. You’re very one of a kind, here in Equestria.”
  345. >What if you never could fit into society here? You're quite different from everyone else. What would you even do for a living? It’s not like you have a special talent, or magic. Could you even use magic?
  346. >Perhaps it could be learned… That happened in EQG with the mane six, plus you are in a world full of it.
  347.
  348. >"Ah’m gonna head back. Yer always welcome to stay at my farm if ya like, Anon. Ah’m certain Twilight would rather you stay with her, which is for the best. If you need any work just holler. Be seein' you two.”
  349. >You nod and look back to Twilight.
  350. “I should stay here. I’m sure we could learn a lot from each other.”
  351. >“Great! I’ll be right here. Spike, could you show Anon to one of the guest’s rooms and help him get settled in?”
  352. >”Sure can do, Twilight.” Spike salutes. “Right this way, Anon.”
  353. >You follow Spike into your new room, which looks like the rest of the castle.
  354. >The room isn’t very big. It contains just a wardrobe, nightstand, and bed, with a single window lighting the room.
  355. >“This will be your room Anon. Sorry that it's kinda small. The door right across the hall is the bathroom. C’mon, I’ll show you around!”
  356. >You follow behind Spike as he navigates to the kitchen. “If you’re hungry, don’t hesitate to come in here and fix yourself something to eat, if ya know how to.”
  357. >Nothing notable, just a large dining table accompanied with your common kitchen accessories.
  358. >You follow him through a corridor, then up a set of stairs.
  359. >”This first door leads to the cutie mark map room, where Twilight and her friends are called to fix friendship problems, pretty cool. Everything else is just empty rooms. Oh, and that’s a bathroom. Pretty much it. I’m sure you wanna get back to Twilight though.”
  360. “Yeah, there’s a lot of things I want talk to her about. I appreciate it Spike, I should be able to find my way back from here.”
  361. >”No problemo, Anon. You know, I was in that human world too. Turned into Twilight’s dog.”
  362. “Sick dude. Later.”
  363. >Of course, you already know that. You want to get back to Twilight. You head back through the castle, sitting down next to her.
  364. >She's going to like this.
  365. “So that thing I wanted to talk to you about... I know much about you and your friends' lives; I watched it happen."
  366.
  367. >“You-- What? How would you even?”
  368. >Twilight is hesitant to believe you, such a claim should be backed by evidence.
  369. “Let’s see. My knowledge extends to as far back as when you were a young filly. You were hatching Spike’s egg as part of the test to be taken into Celestia’s School for Gifted Unicorns, which you couldn’t manage at first. Not until Rainbow Dash performed her first sonic rainboom, which is how she earned her cutie mark. The blast made you lose control over your magic, proving your capabilities."
  370. >”Couldn’t have Spike told you about all of that?”
  371. >She still isn’t going to give in.
  372. “Told me much in quite the short period of time, didn’t he? Let me continue. Celestia taken you as her personal pupil--Especially because she recognized the cutie mark you possessed had a connection to the Elements of Harmony. In fact, the sonic rainboom essentially caused the rest of the elements to earn their cutie marks.”
  373. >”Ok, let me ask you something. If you do know everything about our lives, what is that hoof-shake Cadence and I use to do?”
  374. “Never said I knew everything. Wasn’t that some sort of hoof-shake that you’d do when she foal-sitted you? Please don’t make me do the autistic motions… Wasn’t it ‘Sunshine, Sunshine, ladybugs awake, clap your hooves and do a little shake’?”
  375. >Twilight looks away from you. She rubs the back of her neck.
  376. >”Spike would have no reason to tell you that… So why would you even watch our lives, anyway? Didn’t you have one of your own?”
  377. >Ugh, It’s not even fun trying to fuck with her anymore. Fine. You aren’t going to stop being a smart-ass, though.
  378. “Alright, I apologize, I should have told you the full truth from the start. This may sound hard to believe. You and your friends lives are a cartoon in my world. An animated cartoon. They created this reality, writing it piece by piece. Well, I guess anything is possible in multiverse theory,”
  379. “So hopefully this is all real” You mumble under your breath and continue.
  380.
  381. “You know what I mean, right?”
  382. >Twilight is looking at you with a mix of curiosity and disbelief. She looks even more confused than before.
  383. >”Like political cartoons?”
  384. “Well, sort of. Think of a flip book full of pages that show a character moving. You’ve seen computers right? In Equestria Girls, you were recorded humiliating yourself. You seen the video through a screen.”
  385. >Twilight cringes. ”Right, and I have no idea how that works.”
  386. “Well picture this world recorded and shown on screens like that, except much larger and watched by millions. Except humans ‘draw’ out your world and write what happens in them. I shouldn’t be implying our world created yours, it didn’t. There’s a universe for every possible outcome and difference. I mean, your cartoon wasn’t the only one, simply one of the thousands. What I find really crazy is that the fact that everything seems to be the same as the show, even the voices, which in my world are of humans.”
  387. >Twilight nods. “Yeah, I think I understand now. It sounds pretty crazy, but I bet there’s a universe where our world has a cartoon of yours. So humans in your world are the voices of our characters?”
  388. “Exactly. Probably my dimensions counterparts of you… No, certainly a single human voiced more than one character… Anyway, every week I would watch a segment about you and your friends’ lives. It would last for maybe a good twenty minutes, but there were very many created.”
  389. >”I believe you. It’s all very intriguing… Darn, I should have been taking notes!”
  390. >She unrolls a parchment and quill and begins to write her thoughts, all using her magic.
  391. >You wait a moment for her to finish, looking down at her writing.
  392.
  393. “That language you write and speak in, it’s called English back in my universe. There are hundreds of languages humans speak. The cartoon was created by people who spoke English.”
  394. >”Equestrian Common is the same as English? Hundreds of different languages? That’s pretty crazy.”
  395. “They translated the language in the show to several others, but I guess in this dimension everyone speaks English.”
  396. >Damn, she writes fast. Already looking up at you, eager to hear more.
  397. ”So… What do you have questions about?”
  398.
  399. >You and Twilight talk for the following few hours about your world and technology.
  400. >Mathematics is much the same, but science is rather different. Alchemy in this dimension is simply just chemistry; just with the factor of magic.
  401. >You continue about scientific theories and discoveries, all making her ask twice the amount of questions.
  402. >Surprisingly, human logic coincides very well with this world; except magic.
  403. >Twilight tells you not much is known about the true nature of magic, only how it operates. Unsurprisingly, magic is also a way to explain circumstances they do not understand or can explain, like the creation of the universe.
  404. >You say you believe your dimension in particular is created by something called the big bang.
  405. >Heh, still believing that even though the multiverse is pretty much confirmed to exist. Divinity very well and just as equally could be your old dimension's origin; just like a thousand dimensions might not be.
  406. >Ponies apparently understand the concept of the speed of sound, but not light.
  407. “Time stops at the speed of light, because light is so fast, your perception of time adjusts to it.”
  408. >You go through the basics of the modern science of your world, the concept of atoms and elements especially sparking her interest.
  409. >You even go as far as the theory of Quantum Mechanics. Maybe a little too far.
  410. >You end up telling her much about yourself and your life, her doing much the same. The show only catches a glimpse of what actually goes on.
  411. >You talk about things you’ve seen in the cartoon, her confirming all of it.
  412. >Twilight stopped taking notes when the conversation became personal. You’re starting to really like this mare; you two have much in common. Not that she is your waifu or anything.
  413. >Her stomach growls. “Wow, we’ve been talking for quite some time. Want to grab something to eat?”
  414. “Eat out?”
  415. >”Great idea! Let me grab some bits.”
  416. >Luckily she didn't think of bringing Spike. You don’t need a third wheel in this.
  417.
  418. >You and Anon walk through Ponyville to Cafe Hay, a place he actually suggested. Along the way ponies smile and wave at you, some curious of Anon's presence.
  419. >It’s about afternoon.
  420. >There, a waiter in formal attire greets you two. You both sit outside of the diner at a table, which is literally a giant mushroom.
  421. >He asks you order for him and you oblige. He also asks if they serve alcohol, in which you just shake your head.
  422. >Who drinks this time of day, anyway? Not that it bothers you. He comes back with your drinks, which is water.
  423. >Anon’s knowing about you and your past at first kind of disturbed you, but now it's sort of impressive.
  424. >His knowledge of this world is astounding, human concepts too. It’s giving you a lot to reflect on; even some of it explains many things you've often wondered about.
  425. >We will have to test these theories. If everything works out, we could write several books over these concepts; ponykind would greatly benefit from these discoveries!
  426. >Anon meets your eyes and you realize you’ve been staring at him. He smiles back and you blush.
  427. >Wow, Twilight. You can’t actually be intimidated that way by somepony of another species… Could you? Particular memories of experiences in that human dimension flood back to you. Oh...
  428. >The waiter comes back, holding both of your plates of food, placing each in front of you two.
  429. >You have a hay sandwich while Anon’s has tofu instead of hay as he suggested. Humans must not like hay.
  430. >At Hay Cafe? Ironic.
  431. “So Anon… This cartoon… How much did it actually show?”
  432. >Anon sits down his sandwich after a bite. “Well, most episodes revolve around you and your friends, but sometimes it would show parts of someone else’s life, like Discord.”
  433. >It’s bizarre, the fact that his universe creates the very life you live in. It’s all coincidental, though. There are an infinite number of dimensions.
  434.
  435. “What’s the most recent one of these, ‘episodes’ that you remember?”
  436. >He raises a finger, signaling you to hold. He downs the rest of the sandwich.
  437. >”Um… Glimmer ended up reforming all of the Changelings. Chrysalis then runs off after she offered to be her friend or something. Bug queen will be back sometime after the hiatus. Pretty sure I told you about that one.”
  438. >Ditto here, that happened a few months ago. Not many big things since then. Wait, now that Anon is here...
  439. “You could also be a part of this show too, now. Think about it! If this world is directly correlated to your dimension’s cartoon, you very well could be in it.”
  440. >Anon sips his drink. “No, couldn’t be. They’d never allow it. My guess is this dimension is simply one where I arrive in. This one’s future should be changed now that I’m here… Actually, there is probably a dimension where they did decide to add a human into the show. That would be pretty fucked for a girl’s cartoon.”
  441. >Wait, Girl’s cartoon?
  442. “Hey, you shouldn’t swear in public like that.”
  443. >”Further proves my point. There isn’t swearing like that in the show.”
  444. >Huh, that's actually pretty clever.
  445. >Even if he knew the future, it would be changed now, with him in it.
  446. >Oh, silly Twilight. You haven’t even touched your food.
  447. “Oops. Sorry.”
  448. >You take a bite of the sandwich. Not as good as the first dozen times, you should order something else next visit.
  449. >”It’s fine, I don’t plan leaving anytime soon. Pretty nice out.” He finishes his glass of water.
  450. “So… Girls cartoon? Is that why there isn’t any swearing?”
  451. >”Well it teaches morals, and swearing really isn’t a great moral. That and little girl’s shouldn’t go around swearing.” His eyes bulge. “Wait, I mean it was originally made for little girls. It sort of adopted a huge fanbase around it. They called themselves horsef-- Bronies. The show even acknowledged them by giving ponies fan-created names.”
  452. >Hmm, didn’t he say he knows all about this place? Wouldn’t that make him a bit more than a fan?
  453. “So you’re a ‘brony’? I haven’t really thought about it, but does that mean you wanted to come here in particular by doing that ritual?”
  454. >He sighs. “To be honest, yes. Equestria is about the happiest place I could imagine. Quite honestly I never thought that ritual would work; By society's standards I would be considered mentally insane for attempting it.”
  455. >But it did work. How is his world magicless then? Probably could be explained by multiverse theory. One dimension where it actually works for no reason, one where it never did work at all. Almost as bad as explaining everything with magic.
  456. >You finish your sandwich and take a drink from your cup.
  457. >”You think I could ever use magic?”
  458.
  459. >There’s something in his expression you can’t quite read.
  460. “I wouldn’t know. Unicorns use magic with horns. Earth ponies have their own specific magics. Same as pegasi.”
  461. >Anon looks visibly disappointed. “Is there any cases of casting magic without a horn?”
  462. >You see where he’s going with that. It actually makes you feel bad for him. He’s In a world full of something as essential as magic, and he can’t use it.
  463. “Hmm, I guess Discord, he doesn’t seem to.”
  464. >The waiter comes back to your table and sits down the bill, taking your plates and glasses. You pull sixteen bits out of the bag to cover the cost and leave a tip. A bit expensive for just sandwiches, but it’s not like you’re hurting on money anyway.
  465. >”Where does it come from?”
  466. “Well, it's found everywhere. Otherwise, not much is known what magic actually is.”
  467. >”How did Lord Tirek completely steal magic from ponies, if it’s found in the environment?”
  468. >Might as well just give him a small lesson.
  469. “I’ll try to answer that the best I can. All ponies posses something called life magic, which is bound to our cutie marks. The magic found in the environment is sort of like raw energy. The life magic essentially lets us control it. Life magic isn’t limited to just ponies, however. After casting a few spells, you might become exhausted of it, but never seems to deplete. Casting many spells can be pretty exhausting physically too. My guess is Tirek stole it completely from us, which kept us from using magic at all, even taking our cutie marks with it. Afterwards though, when we used Rainbow Power against him, all of the magic he captured returned to everypony, along with their Cutie Marks.”
  470. >He thinks about your words before speaking.
  471. >“What about when Celestia and Luna gave you their magic?”
  472. “I guess I’m strong enough to possess it, and it was in their power to transfer it in the first place.”
  473. >The waiter from before is back, collecting the tip and bits for the meal.
  474.
  475. >“Thank you, a good day to you two.” he says before walking off.
  476. >It seems most ponies aren’t scared of Anon, at least just curious. Some ponies were staring at him. You have an idea to help introduce him with the town to get ponies a little more familiar with him.
  477. >You need to write to Celestia soon about him as well.
  478. >“Rainbow Power? When the tree gave you magic?”
  479. “Yeah, it basically gave us the same power the elements had.”
  480. >“Could that same magic also be life magic?”
  481. >It very well may have. He’s going pretty deep with this.
  482. “Couldn't tell you. It's possible, I guess the tree is living.”
  483. >”Do all creatures have life magic here? What about magic in something like the Alicorn Amulet?”
  484. “Well, no. Many animals don’t seem to have any, and they live just fine. You can instruct permanent changes with magic like polymorphing. It is also possible to create enchantments which affect the characteristics and abilities of its user, like with the Alicorn Amulet, but you have to be extremely skilled and powerful to do either. Enchanting essentially leaves instructions for an object on how to use magic. It's not permanent, but powerful enchantments can last for a very long time."
  485. >”You have a few books I could read about magic?”
  486. “Of course! But it might be pretty limited. All of our knowledge is based on how it and life interacts.”
  487. >”Nothing more that I want to learn.”
  488.
  489. >You’re in the library, sitting at a table. Twilight had to leave for some princess duties you assume, because as soon as you arrived at the castle, Spike ran up to her holding a letter.
  490. >You wish you and her could have hung out a little more.
  491. >Before Twilight left, she helped pick out some books for you to read.
  492. >You want to learn more about life magic in particular.
  493. >Alchemy seems pretty interesting, you had Twilight give you a couple books on it. You’ll get to those last.
  494. >This book’s cover reads ’Empirical Observations on Magic’. Promising.
  495. >It’s not very thick. Shouldn’t take much to read.
  496. >You flip open the book to the middle.
  497. >’...Pooling several unicorn’s magics together while all concentrating on a single spell creates an even more powerful one. The same method has been used extensively throughout history to raise the Sun and Moon, before the reign of Princess Celestia.’
  498. >Let's see… Index... There. Magics of Body, page seven.
  499. >You turn to that page. ‘...Magic from the environment is thought to be in a cycle with this magic of life... General usage seems to increase one's endurance of life magics over time. To an extent, Earth ponies and pegasuses increase their magics by physical exercise.’
  500. >Exercise, why would that give you more magic? Does magic just constantly enhance their strength? If so, wouldn’t that mean their muscles are dependent of it?
  501. >’A unicorn expands his pools of life magic by simply using it, thus allowing him the bandwidth to cast more potent spells.’
  502. >So practice makes perfect, plus more life magic.
  503.
  504. >You skip a few lines. ‘One must learn how to control his own magics before using those around him. The magic of the body becomes part of the blueprint, the magic of the environment is the material. Skill determines the potency of a spell and his own life magic allows him to project it in the first place.’
  505. >You read through a few pages, which just gives information about how unicorn’s magic is thought to work.
  506. >It loses your interest right after that. Not like it should matter to you anyway.
  507. >So in ponies, life magic and the kind of pony you are two big factors of how it is used. The next biggest would probably be their cutie marks.
  508. >Other creatures have their own rules of course.
  509. >What if it was just that? You may not have life magic, but you very well may not need it to use ‘it’. Well, most animals here don’t have magic either.
  510. >You also aren’t of this world. Things could always play out differently.
  511. >Speaking of being not of this world… What was it that brought you in?
  512. >It had to have been magic of its own. What in that ritual could have made this work?
  513. >You shiver. What if this was just a very elaborate coma-induced dream?
  514. >You don’t believe it. You think to that dream you had last night. Could that have been you watching your own death?
  515. >If you died, why would you come here, of all places? You’re exactly the same as you were before.
  516. >The booming voice echoes again through your mind. ’You could never go back. Everything has a price.’
  517. >You actually are afraid of what that could mean.
  518. >It’s likely just a implication of your fears, but you can’t help but feel it is connected to your situation in some way.
  519. >You don’t want to leave, even if nothing here is real. At least there is one thing you know is certain: Your own consciousness, which is enough proof for you.
  520. >You rise from your seat, no longer desiring to read. You need to talk to someone. Something to bring you away from your thoughts.
  521.
  522. >You decide Spike will have to do for now. You have no idea where you might find him, so you just head to the kitchen.
  523. >No one in sight.
  524. >You go up to the fridge. How would this even work without electricity? Probably some magic-based technology. A fridge can use magic and you still can’t. But… perhaps you could use magic-based technology if it exists. You'd have to look into that.
  525. >You open the top door. You rummage through the food inside, finding nothing of particular interest. It’s all hay, fruits, wheat foods, and oats. You’d love to have a damn steak right now.
  526. >You do locate a couple bottles of cider, score. Let’s see if these bad boys have alcohol in them.
  527. >You grab one and crack off the lid with your teeth, spitting the cap onto the floor.
  528. >Really fizzy, but it’s not bad. Can’t taste any alcohol though. You sigh and close the fridge.
  529. >”Hey Anon. What’cha doing?”
  530. >You turn around to face Spike, who stands near the door opposite from which you came.
  531. “Just getting a drink.”
  532. >You lift the bottle to show him.
  533. >”Cool. So I was meaning to ask... So we really were in some sort of show? That’s pretty crazy!”
  534. >You spit out your drink.
  535. “You shouldn’t be listening in on private conversations.”
  536. >”Hey, you never said it was intended to be private! I was at first going to join you two at the table, but I decided to stay out of it and just listen. Don’t worry, I left when things got a little personal.”
  537. >So practically the entire conversation about the show? Goddammit.
  538. “Don’t be telling others what you heard!”
  539. >Spike steps back and frowns.
  540. >”Ok, sheesh. What’s got you in a bad mood?”
  541. >Ok, maybe a little rough there. You don't want a few ponies asking you a fuck-ton of questions. It is also a secret you could share with Twilight.
  542. >Wait, did you ever tell Twilight not to say anything in particular to anyone? Fuck, whatever.
  543. “Sorry, just what you said brought up some unwanted thoughts.”
  544.
  545. >”Gotcha, it’s fine. You very hungry?”
  546. >Spike walks up to the cabinets and pulls out a bag of potato chips from one of them.
  547. “Nah, Twilight and I went out earlier. So before, what you said… Yeah. I know quite a bit about this world.”
  548. >”That’s actually really cool. Did it show much of me?” Spike says, shoving a handful of chips into his mouth.
  549. >You take a drink of your cider, and pull out one of the kitchen table’s chairs to sit. Might as well appease him.
  550. “Yeah, you were shown plenty. Great job in the Crystal Empire, bro.”
  551. >Spike pulls out a chair to sit as well. “Thanks! ...Oh, you probably seen how I sorta fell off and how Cadence saved me, didn’t you.”
  552. “If it wasn’t for you, that crystal wouldn’t have gotten to her. Sombra would have probably enslaved all of ponykind if it wasn’t for you.”
  553. >”Your right. Not that I’ve never thought of it that way, I definitely have.”
  554. >”One question though if you don’t care.”
  555. “Go ahead.”
  556. >”Did you see us go through that portal to the human world?”
  557. “Yeah, they made a few bad movies over Twilight and her friend’s counterparts of that dimension.”
  558. >”Like movies at a movie theater? Why bad and also, how would they get the video, though? Wait--nevermind. I remember you explaining how that works in your world.”
  559. “Yeah, please don’t tell others about my knowledge.”
  560. >”I swear I won’t. It’s not like they would believe me or really care anyway. But you should tell at least part of the truth, it would be easier than saying you came from someplace in this world no ponies heard about.”
  561. >Actually, you think he’s right about that last part. You don’t know how most ponies would react to that, so maybe only just the mane six.
  562. ”Just swear not to say anything to anyone.”
  563. >”Pinkie Promise?”
  564. “Your word should be enough.”
  565. >He nods. “You have my word, Anon.”
  566. >You smirk as a thought comes to mind. Just in case...
  567. “Rarity is a pretty cute mare, I can see why you like her so much.”
  568. >”Oh!-- Yeah… Uh,”
  569. >He can’t deny it, he knows you’ve seen everything.
  570. >A blush spreads across his face and he nervously grins.
  571. >”She is pretty cute.” Spike says, agreeing.
  572. “It’s chill, man. I’m not telling anyone.”
  573.
  574. >”Haha, yeah…” Spike rubs the back of his head, frowning. “Not like she likes me anyway.”
  575. >Oh damn, he’s looking pretty depressed.
  576. >”I don’t know why I try...”
  577. ”I’m sure she will come around someday.”
  578. >Spike sighs. “Maybe. If I was a pony, she wouldn’t be much older than me. Us dragons age slower.”
  579. “So why haven’t you been made into a pony? I know that type of magic exists here.”
  580. >”I don’t think she would like that anyway, it wouldn’t be ‘me’. I may be like a pony personality wise, but I don’t think I’d want to be one.”
  581. “There are age spells.”
  582. >”Twilight told me those can go very wrong and have pretty drastic effects. I think I’ll just wait a few years.” Spike stands. “You wanna go do something else?”
  583. >What in Ponyville could you possibly enjoy doing with Spike?
  584. “What do you have in mind?”
  585. >”I uhh… was actually thinking about going to see Rarity. It would be a good opportunity for you to meet her personally.”
  586. >You do need some new clothes.
  587. “Alright.”
  588. >You are back in Ponyville again, outside the Carousel Boutique. It would be a few hours before the sun would set. Pretty fucking weird that they have to manually move the sun and the moon, why not just set them into motion for good and not worry about it?
  589. >Spike heads inside, and you follow suit. The bell from the door rings to alert of your presence.
  590. >Several mirrors and mannequins baring dresses and other apparel stand about the room.
  591. >The walls are overwhelmingly saturated with pink and purple. It could just about make you sick.
  592. “Welcome to the Carous--Oh, good evening Spike! Just who I--”
  593. >”This is Anon, he’s a new resident of Ponyville! He actually from a reaallly far away place. He’s pretty cool. I thought he might like to meet you.”
  594. >Rarity’s eyes widen as she looks upon you.
  595. >“Oh! Greetings, please let me introduce myself. My name is Rarity, and I’m the proud owner of this boutique.” She trots up to you and holds out her hoof. “Nice to meet you, Anon.”
  596.
  597. >You shake her hoof. “Nice to meet you too, Rarity.”
  598. >She smiles and turns to Spike. “I still plan on us going gem hunting today. I really could use those rare gems.”
  599. “Yes, of course Rarity! Just tell me when you're ready. You think Anon could come along too?”
  600. >Fuck no, you don’t want to follow around those two for the next few hours.
  601. “Actually, I…”
  602. >They both look at you. What else did you have to do, go back to the castle? Walk around Ponyville and hope no one freaks out of your presence?
  603. “Nevermind. Sounds like fun.”
  604. >You smile, gritting your teeth.
  605. >”Well, I don’t see any reason why you couldn’t come. Just a moment dear and we’ll be off.”
  606. >Rarity does a one-eighty out of the room. Spike turns his attention back to you.
  607. >”It’ll be fun, Anon. Maybe you can help dig too!”
  608. >Haha fuck that.
  609. >”You could probably keep some of them as a form of payment, Rarity wouldn’t mind.”
  610. >Well… you could use this to earn her favor and she could make you something to wear, or you could just tell her you’re living in the castle with Twilight, which might work. These pony clothes don’t fit worth a fuck.
  611. “That doesn’t sound too bad.”
  612. >Rarity is back now, levitating two large satchels with her magic, floating one over to Spike.
  613. >“You think Anon could help dig up gems too?”
  614. >”Certainly! Help would be most welcome. Anon, I’d cover your efforts of course. Oh, and you can carry this other bag while you’re at it.”
  615. >The three of you stop by the marketplace to borrow a shovel from a salespony. You promise to pay him back in gems, which he is more than happy with.
  616. >They are like a super currency here, yet they aren’t as valuable as they were in your world.
  617. >All gems seemed flawless in the show, which is likely why.
  618. >They’re also very plentiful if you can find them. You could easily get rich digging them, as long as you carefully regulated how many you sold. You could buy whatever you wanted.
  619. >You can’t do it on your own though, you would need someone with magic to locate them.
  620.
  621. >You three have been walking for a good fifteen minutes before finally stop. You’ve made it into a barren field, littered with large rocks.
  622.
  623. >You still don’t have shoes, so you’re going to have to be careful where you step.
  624. >A light blue magical aura envelops Rarity’s horn. She walks around, scanning the ground.
  625. >Two spots on the ground suddenly turn transparent, revealing several glowing gems. “Over here and here!”
  626. >You two get to work.
  627. >After maybe five minutes you’ve created a hole about a foot deep. Spike’s already pulling up several gems from his.
  628. >“Remember, I only require rubies and emeralds, the rest you find are yours.”
  629. >After a minute or so, your shovel finally hits something solid.
  630. >It’s a large fucking rock.
  631. >You struggle with it, managing to pull the heavy bastard out.
  632. >Doing so reveals several blue gems, which you believe are sapphires. Feeling satisfied, you wipe them off before placing them into your satchel.
  633. >Those are yours to keep.
  634. >Spike and Rarity have already moved on. He’s digging another hole a dozen yards away.
  635. >Magic flashes over the ground near her. “Over here, Anon!”
  636. >You catch up, wiping the sweat off your brow. With a sigh, you plunge the shovel into the ground.
  637. >After fifteen minutes of vigorous shoveling you’ve dug another hole, this one far deeper than before. You keep prodding at the hole, but falling dirt prevents you from making further progress.
  638. >You drop the shovel down and sit on your ass, catching your breath.
  639. >You look down at your work, ready to move on, but something catches your eye. You reach down into the hole and fish out a large, pale, light green gem.
  640. >You wipe it off. This is no emerald.
  641. >You check the hole, which reveals no more gems. You grab your shovel, sling your satchel over your shoulder, and catch up to them.
  642.
  643. >Dirts flying up from Spike’s hole, in which Rarity stands far back from, safely out of its path.
  644. >A moment later, Spike throws out several red and green gems, which Rarity intercepts with her magic.
  645. >”Thank you, Spike, I don’t know what I would do without you!”
  646. >Spike climbs up out of the hole, covered in dirt.
  647. “Anything for you, Rarity.” Spike turns to you, panting. “You find any, Anon?”
  648. >Rarity finishes shaking off the gems and places them into Spike’s satchel.
  649. “Well… I found this.”
  650. >You hold up the gem.
  651. >Her eyes widen. “Oh my! Could I see that?”
  652. >You offer it to her and she takes it, holding it up to the sun.
  653. >”Oh yes, this is extremely rare. A very fine diamond indeed! I would just simply LOVE to have this for one of my dresses!”
  654. >You figure giving it to her would end up being more valuable to you than to keep it for yourself. Not like you can say no to her either way.
  655. “You technically found it, I just did the work retrieving it. It’s all yours.”
  656. >She smiles wide and embraces you in a tight hug. “Oh, thank you, Anon! This is exactly what I’ve been looking for!”
  657. >Heh, what luck. You look over to Spike, who’s having no trouble showing his jealousy. His face twitches.
  658. >You smirk before Rarity leaves your embrace.
  659. >“Oh, I can’t wait to get back. We only have to get a just few more rubies first.”
  660. >He picks up the satchel and hoists it over his back, sighing. “Yes, Milady...”
  661. >You notice several holes have been dug as you look around the area. His claws must be far more efficient at digging than you are.
  662. >Rarity steps back and examines you. “Ooh, You’re just covered in dirt! You could use a good bath, I know I’d need one after all of that hard work.”
  663. >Spike takes a few steps and collapses, face first. The gems come loose out of the bag and scatter across the ground.
  664. >“Spike!” Rarity exclaims, rushing over to him. She flips him over and brushes the dirt off of his face.
  665. >“You worked yourself too hard.” She reaches down and plants a kiss on his cheek.
  666.
  667. >He slowly blinks and opens his eyes. “...r-Rarity?”
  668. >”Oh, don’t scare me like that again!” Rarity takes him into her embrace. Spike gives you a devious grin.
  669. >The sneaky cunt was faking it. He must think this is a competition or some shit.
  670. >You give him a thumbs up.
  671. >“Let’s get you home.” She levitates him onto her back.
  672. >”Anon, could you carry the other bag please?” A blue aura swipes all of the gems and puts them back into the satchel.
  673. “No problem.”
  674. >You take the heavy bag and sling it over your back.
  675. >You had to have been carrying a total of fifty pounds of gems. You could probably swipe a few Rarity doesn’t need from Spike’s... The fucker is making you carry this.
  676. “Rarity, could I ask a favor of you?”
  677. >”Yes, of course dear. What would it be?”
  678. “I need some clothes, I don’t have anything that fits me. You think you could make me a few things?”
  679. >”Of course! Anything for what you’ve given me today. What do you have in mind?”
  680. “I’d like to have a few outfits. I won’t be afraid to do a little extra work for your trouble.”
  681. >“Oh, please don’t stress darling, anything you need. I can write everything down when we get there.”
  682.
  683. >You make it back to the boutique, you follow Rarity to her private quarters. She lays down Spike onto her bed.
  684. >“You rest here for now. I’ll take you back to the castle soon. You worked way too hard, I forget sometimes you’re just a little dragon after all.”
  685. >Almost as if on cue, Spike shoots up from the bed. ”Hey, I’m not tired anymore! I must have got enough rest on the way here. Thanks, Rarity! I’ll be fine.”
  686. “Just do not ever exhaust yourself like again. I would hate to see you get hurt.”
  687. >You chuckle. What a tool.
  688. >You follow her through a corridor into another room. Inside there is a sewing machine, mannequins with unfinished dresses, and shelves stacked with fabrics.
  689. >You now stand in front of a mirror.
  690. >These clothes look ridiculous on you. They’re also filthy.
  691.
  692. >Rarity stands behind you, examining your form. ”So Anon, what do you desire?”
  693. “I need some shirts. Some pants and shorts... A coat for winter. Socks and shoes. Something other than this to wear.”
  694. >“Of course! Just a moment, dear.”
  695. >She’s back in front of you, levitating a tape measure. “Could you take those off, please? I must make sure everything will fit perfectly. I’ve never designed clothes for anypony of your kind before, but I assure you, they will be fabulous nonetheless.”
  696. >Right. Most ponies usually don’t wear clothes. You lift your shirt over your head, tossing it aside.
  697. >Now for the pants...
  698. >Don’t be a pussy, Anon. You’re just stripping in front one very cute mare-No, stop.
  699. >You look down. God dammit, why now? You don’t want her getting the wrong idea.
  700. “Uh, could you just measure out my torso for now? I’m pretty, uh, pretty cold.”
  701. >Rarity briefly looks confused. “Oh, not having hair covering your body must be chilly at times. No problem.”
  702. >She gets several measures of your torso before writing them down onto her notepad. “Alright darling, you think you could take those off? If it is too cold, I could just measure over those clothes. I’d much rather the measurements be perfect, though.”
  703. >Great, now you look like a wuss.
  704. >You look down again. Well, now or never...
  705. >When she’s done measuring you slip back on your clothes. You catch a whiff of your own odor. You're not smelling too great. You’re relieved that Rarity hasn’t said anything.
  706. “Oh, and Rarity, nothing too gaudy, please. You can keep it simple.”
  707. >She takes that almost offensively. ”Anon, I’m a mare of fashion! I’ll never make anything ‘too simple’."
  708. >You won’t argue against that.
  709. >“One more thing. Is there any style in particular you interested in?”
  710. “Whatever you think will look good on me.”
  711. >”Very well. Seeing how in dire need you are of an outfit, I’ll have one completed and brought to you sometime tomorrow!”
  712. “In one day? That’s amazing. Thank you, Rarity.”
  713.
  714.
  715. >You find Spike standing next to the doorway, ready to leave. You turn to exit with him.”
  716. >”Oh and Anon, I would bathe soon if I were you. You’re pretty filthy after today.”
  717. >You cringe.
  718. “I know. C’ya later.”
  719. >You wave goodbye, as does she.
  720.
  721. >You and Spike make it back to the castle as the sun sets. You want nothing more than to take a nice hot shower. But you and Spike decided to have dinner first.
  722. >As you two enter the kitchen, you find Twilight having just that with the Mary Sue of magic herself. You forgot she lived here.
  723. >Their conversation stops abruptly as you walk in.
  724. “Home early?”
  725. >“Oh, Hi Anon and Spike. This is Starlight.”
  726. >”How did the meeting with the towns ponies go?” Spike walks up to the table and hops up onto a chair. You follow up and take a seat right next to him.
  727. >Starlight was visibly nervous at your presence. ”It went fine, they hope I’ll come by and visit again soon.” Starlight nervously smiles to you.
  728. >”Hi Anon. I’m Starlight Glimmer, Twilight’s student here in the castle.”
  729. “Pleasure to meet you.”
  730. >You feel like giving her a good first impression, and take Spike’s bit of advice.
  731. “I happen to come from another dimension. Hey Twilight, any more of that spaghetti left for us?”
  732. >“Did you say, another dimension? Wait, what! How?”
  733. >You hold up a single finger to Starlight, signaling for her to wait.
  734. >You look over to Twilight.
  735. >”Don’t worry, I've made you guys some too."
  736. >Twilight levitates you and Spike a plate of food each.
  737. "Thank you."
  738. >You give Starlight a brief explanation of your story, leaving out the details about the show.
  739. >She doesn’t ask as many questions as you thought she would, but the whole idea of you being of another dimension intrigues her.
  740. >Twilight was already finished with her food and was just listening to your conversation.
  741. “So what was that whole ‘gotta go fast and ditch Anon’ thing earlier?”
  742.
  743. >”Oh thats right! Celestia wants to meet you. She said she would be able to show up to your welcome party I’ve helped plan for you! Isn’t that wonderful?”
  744. >You choke on your spaghetti.
  745. “Party?”
  746. >Twilight was taken aback by your reaction. “To introduce everypony to the new resident of Ponyville. I had Pinkie plan everything out for two days from now. Wait, sorry, are you not comfortable with that? I can always have Pinkie-”
  747. “No, it’s a great idea. It’s just the thing I need to get settled in to this town.”
  748. >That makes her relax. “That’s exactly what I was thinking.”
