  7. Border escapes drastically shorten and eliminate mindgames. A mindgame is the opposite of a mixup, which is a situation that is escapable with no penalty if you guess right. A mindgame is a situation in which you take damage no matter what option you choose. Border escapes turn any situation into a 50/50, shortening the decision tree and reducing the consequence of poor decision making.

It is a level that puts a limit on the damage that can be done in certain situations, simplifying movement and choice for both attacker and defender. It drastically reduces the impact of position on hits, the combo itself, and the aftermath by allowing you to get the maximum allowed damage while still forcing a knockdown.
