  1. Matthew's Recipe for Opiate Withdrawal & Detox
  2.
  3. Having detoxed from opiates such as Heroin many times, I have used the "Thomas Recipe" many times and have made some great improvements upon it. The original recipe will reduce the withdrawal symptoms but my guide will virtually eliminate them completely if used properly. Follow the morning and night instructions for 4 to 5 days, or until the majority of your symptoms are gone. Continue the Loperamide for up to 10 to 15 days then taper off by 6mg per day. As with anything, I encourage you to Google all of the items listed in this guide so you know what you're putting in your body.
  4.
  5. What you'll need:
  6.
  7. 1. Xanax or any other benzodiazepine (Valium, Klonopin, Ativan, Librium. If you do not have access to benzos you can substitute 1mg with 1 fl. oz. of alcohol such as vodka)
  8.
  9. 2. Loperamide HCL liquid caps (Imodium AD generic)
  10.
  11. 3. Valerian root 500mg caps
  12.
  13. 4. L-Tyrosine 500mg caps
  14.
  15. 5. Vitamin B Complex caps
  16.
  17. 6. Multi-Mineral supplement with at least 100% RDA of Zinc, Phosphorus, Copper, Magnesium and Potassium
  18.
  19. 7. Centrium Silver Multi-Vitamin
  20.
  21. 8. Caffeine tabs 200mg
  22.
  23. 9. Tonic water with Quinine
  24.
  25. 10. Dextromethorphan ('DXM', found in Corcidin Cough and Cold tabs)
  26.
  27. 11. Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime tea
  28.
  29. Mornings:
  30. Start the Multi-Mineral and Multi-Vitamin supplements, Opiates strip your body of minerals and it is important that you replenish them, Especially potassium. As soon as your withdrawal symptoms begin take 60 mg of Loperamide HCL liquid caps. Loperamide is a synthetic opioid that does not act on the Mu (the feel good) receptors in your brain but will virtually eliminate all other withdrawal symptoms by binding to opiate receptors in your gut. If 60 mg does not clear up most of your withdrawal symptoms within 2 hours take 20mg more per hour until symptoms improve. When you start to feel better from the Loperamide take your first Benzodiazepine with 200mg of Caffeine. Some people will tell you to stay away from but Caffeine will block your adenosine receptors from removing dopamine from your brain making the Benzodiazepines work better and longer. At this time go ahead and dose 2 of the DXM tabs as well. Dextromethorphan is another synthetic opioid that does not have an affinity for the Mu opiate receptors but will activate on several receptor other sites thus helping to rid you of withdrawal symptoms without furthering your dependence.
  31.
  32. Nights:
  33. 2 hours before before bed drink a cup of Sleepytime tea and Take 1000mg of Valerian root, Another Benzodiazepine, and 8 to 16 fl. oz. of Tonic water with Quinine. The Valerian root is a natural sedative and will help promote sleep. The Quinine in Tonic water is an anti-inflammatory that will keep you from getting restless leg syndrome. Dose another 2 DXM tabs if you are starting to feel your withdrawal symptoms return. A hot shower before bed will also help your muscles to relax and give a better nights sleep. Do not use Benadryl (Diphenhydramine) or OTC sleep aids for sleep, They are notorious for causing restless leg syndrome.
  34.
  35. As soon as you begin to feel better (around the 4th or 5th day) take 2000mg of L-Tyrosine and the Vitamin B Complex tab to help boost mental clarity and fight off depression. Drink as much water as you can and exercise as much as you can during and after your withdrawal, This will help with muscle aches and increase the level of dopamine in your brain.
  36.
  37. Other items that may help your withdrawal:
  38.
  39. Tylenol (Aches/Fever), Kratom (General Withdrawal), Trazodone (Sleep/Depression), Clonidine (Withdrawal/High blood pressure/Sleep), Marijuana (Appetite/Pain/Sleep), Sudafed (Energy/Stuffy nose)
