Our feature match for round 6 pits two players at 4-1 against each other.  The winner will be virtually guaranteed a top 8 spot and the loser will have virtually no chance.  We have BarneyStinso, a perrenially high ranked player on ML and fresh off of a top 8 at GP Mexico City, versus elfwizard, a dark horse whose nonetheless put up a solid performance here today.

Game 1

Elfwizard won the die roll and chose ot play first, both players kept 7, and we were off to the races.  Barney had the first action of the game with a Faithless Looting to smooth his curve out - dropping Wild Hunger and Village Survivors into the yard.  A turn 3 Night Terrors from EW took Ulvenwald Bear and left Heretic's Punishment, Forest, Harvest Pyre, Orchard Spirit, and Festerhide Boar.  Barney dropped an Orchard Spirit to finally have a board presence and EW spen turn 4 on another Night Terrors - taking the Punishment and revealing an additional Mountain.  Barney decided to play the Festerhide Boar without morbid in order to keep putting pressure.  Elfwizard passed and tried a Brimstone Volley, but he'd forgotten the pump spell in the graveyard from the first turn.  Elfwizard finally stabilized on the next turn with Harvest Pyre and Fires of Undeath.  BarneyStinso got some value from his looting, dropping 2 forests. Nearheath Stalker from EW was followed by Village Survivors from BS and then Markov Warlord from EW - but EW forgot to swing the Warlord and it was a poor blocker for the vigilant 4/5.  When he declined to block, BS spent his Harvest Pyre on the Warlord.  The undying vampire was blocked on the next turn and EW tried to finish off the survivors with his Fires of Undeath, but Ranger's Guile ensured they would keep on surviving.  A Fires from Barney ensured his eventual victory when he swung in unchecked, leaving his opponent at 2 and after 1 more draw step, it was on to game 2.

Game 2

Both players chose some sideboard options and kept 7 again and the action started a bit quicker this time around.  Darkthicket Wolf on turn 2 for Barney was stared down by Hinterland Hermit on turn 3 for EW.  Villagers of Estwald for BS was followed by Torch Fiend and Skirsdag Flayer.  Ashmoth Hound was followed by Afflicted Deserter.  Still during all of this action, BarneyStinso had managed to make attacks that were awkward to block against and EW never really had a chance to attack profitably, so the life totals were quickly 18-8.  Barney finished up the flurry of action with a Nearheath Stalker and finally someone passed to flip the werewolves.  There was a bit of confusion with a rules error near the end, but ultimately it didn't matter - BarneyStinso had a much stronger board position and elfwizard was down to 1 life and it was time to say gg.
