  1. NOAH.onGenesis (NOAH Online -Genesis-)
  2. Level 01:\2000 HP\Esfirasya
  3.
  4. «REALITY:\Samara, Russia\Esfirasya's House»
  5. Tap tap… Tap tap… Click.
  6. Rapid gunfire and explosions blared at Esfirasya's yellow backlit headset. Yes, she played computer games like these even at nighttime. Good thing, she memorized her keyboard back in 1999, during Quake 3 Arena's popularity. Whilst playing in darkness, the winter cold seeped through her window, and caressed her bike shorts-clad legs. However, her gaming desktop computer warmed her up due to the game's realistic looks.
  7. Mic lowered in a blitz. Push to talk.
  8. “You ain't comin' here!” She grinned, as her right hand slid the mouse. Her on-screen rocket launcher's sights aimed at an oncoming Terrorist faction's truck. Click.
  9. Her 32” flat screen monitor flashed bright white-orange light, as she blasted the enemy's truck.
  10. Three enemies downed.
  11. Suddenly, a holographic banner scrolled over her screen: «10 consecutive explosive kills achieved! Micro-Apocalypse is now usable!»
  12. She spotted three men, donned tan kevlar vests & denim jeans, dashed to her position. She could have just sniped them afar with few careful shots from her silenced gun. Instead, she aimed it down at their feet, with her same rocket launcher under Micro-Apocalypse's perk.
  13. “Triple kill, bitches!” Esfirasya giggled, then fired it on the concrete. The reverberate red-orange explosion tossed them like ragdolls. “They didn't see me coming with that, Z!”
  14. “You're hot on that one, Fleym!” Zoloto, her sniper teammate, snickered at her via voice chat. “Though you wasted another perk! No wonder you deserved that name, Fleym.”
  15. “Where are you anyway, Z?” Esfirasya led her character to a nearby van for cover.
  16. “I'm on an apartment of course!” Zoloto fired another shot. “Don't leave your cover! I see two government peeps—”
  17. She heard a loud bang above her, then at the same time, another barrage of assault rifle gunfire roared at her character's northeastern direction. Fire another rocket? Or shower them with bullets? If she'd go for the rocket, no more rounds to spit onto tanks if they thought of bringing one.
  18. “Fleym! Shoot 'em off!” Zoloto got shot thrice by one of the enemies outside. “I'm pinned here!”
  19. “Got it!” She fired three rounds on one enemy with a submachine gun, then Zoloto killed the other character.
  20. Two shots headed onto its neck— ain't a killing head shot. The enemy tried to shot her down, yet it missed her.
  21. “Eat this!” Esfirasya fired six shots at her enemy's face. Enemies down. Note to self: Practice close-range gunning with flame rounds, if this game will allow it!
  22. “We're winning this one, buddy!” Zoloto howled, as they scored higher than other factions in this round.
  23. As they led their characters to enemy government's camp, a loud, upbeat phone ring interrupted Esfirasya.
  24. Yes, a late-night phone call.
  25.
  26. She won't care if that was an American uttered a high-pressured sales pitch; or some guy asking for a date— unless it's another gamer like Zoloto.
  27. She answered the phone while she positioned herself above a ten-wheeler truck in-game, "Asya here, who's there?"
  28. A young, energetic man with clear Filipino accent spoke to her, "Hi! I'm from Kanlaon Digiworks—”
  29. His fruity voice divided her attention away from the game. She won't let an opportunity like this go away easily. What better way of enjoying a new game, than to let its staff themselves invite you to play it— not via email or beta registration forms.
  30. The Filipino caller asked, “Is this Esfirasya Razri—”
  31. “Razlineyka, sir!” she smiled, as she even blasted an oncoming enemy truck with her rocket launcher, “Plus, I'm in the middle of a game!”
  32. “Sorry about that,” he chuckled in a moment, “Anyway, you're one of the 2000 participants chosen for the «NOAH Program»!"
  33. A name like «NOAH Program» sounded something out of those Western thriller novelists she read few times in their school library. Her attention fluttered away from the online shooter, which rendered her character's dead in flames.
  34. At the lower left side of her screen, her chat window's flooded with her teammate's rants of them losing this battle. She gasped, then she typed quickly in the team chat, [Sorry guys, I got a phone call. Will play again tomorrow.]
  35.
  36. With her phone in hand, she stood by her frigid window wall, and glanced at the ember-colored cityscape.
  37. Esfirasya raised her voice over the news, “How? When I was chosen?”
  38. “Well, thanks to your New Order gameplay commentary. I recommended you to the management to play for us.”
  39. “Though, where did you get my contact number?
