  1. >I felt her face come close to mine, full focus on those teary eyes.
  2. >Her hands that once pinned me down, started to caress my face and body.
  3. >I watched and felt, as she put he whole body at me, using it to keep me pinned.
  4. "Nicole… we…"
  5. >"Shhh" she said, putting her finger over my mouth "Just relax, you've worked to much."
  6. >At this point, she proceeded to rub herself on me, full body.
  7. >And I felt something go wet at my pants. I was sure that it wasn't my manhood screaming out to me..
  8. >"You take it tough for my daughter, Anon, you work hard for us."
  9. >Well, yes, it's either this, or "Playhouse".
  10. >"Now, just let me do the work for you." were her last words before she slowly approached my face.
  11. >Something stirred inside of me, something that screamed for freedom.
  12. >Wether this will bite me back in the ass or not, I know what I'm going to do.
  13.
  14. >She came close to me, I knew it was only centimmeters before our lips would have touched.
  15. >This wasn't right.
  16. >It felt good, but it didn't feel right.
  17. "Nicole, I can't do this." I say, calmly.
  18. >"W-what?" she asked, stopping her movement, and looking at my eyes once more while slowly pushing herself back up.
  19. "I'm saying, I can't do this."
  20. >"But, why? Am I too old for you?"
  21. "No, no, not that. It doesn't feel right doing this. Nothing to do with what you look. Just that…"
  22. >And as I said that, I saw more tears roll down, this time clear, through the night.
  23. "Nicole, I'm sorry, but this doesn't feel right. I feel more comfortable if I would have done this with someone I love."
  24. >"I… I… you don't love me?" she stuttered, sitting straight on my waist.
  25. "It's not that." I continue, gesturing my arms in a calming formation. "It just doesn't feel right if I don't get to know the person I'm with"
  26. >She just looked at me, with a jaw drop a few minutes after.
  27. >"Is it your first time?" she said, reassuring herself.
  28. >Tough luck, flag was caught years before I got drafted
  29. "No, its not that."
  30. >"Then what do you mean?"
  31. "Aside of consensual, I like it when the person, er… being… I embrace and make love to, know me as much as I know her."
  32. >"Oh, I see." she says, giving a small laugh. "You're trying to get back at me over the time I gave you a small heart attack, you know, daughter's first bring-a-pet-to-school-day?"
  33. "I… I actually almost forgot about that one…"
  34. >"Come on, don't play coy, you'd be willing help out someone in need, like me, right?"
  35. "No, not unless the feeling is mutual."
  36. >"B-but."
  37. "Look, Nicole, don't get this the wrong way, I'm sure that you are a wonderful person. But before anything else, I'm sure there'd be other people who'd want to know that wonderful side of you first."
  38. >"Well, you know me. You take care of our food, know what my daughter and I want and hate, and when we go to places, we happily take you with. I also read your files, and we gave you a safe pass."
  39. "But that's mandatory. Did you even memorize anything in those 'Files'?"
  40. >"What's your point?"
  41. "My point? I would love to give you more than one point, but how about some questions? Some questions found both IN and out of those files."
  42. >"Like?"
  43. "What's my favorite food?"
  44. >She just sat there, in silence. A kobold with a nightgown sitting on my crotch, only stared.
  45. >But I didn't stop there.
  46. "Okay, since you 'Read' this file, where was I born?"
  47. >"Ugh…"
  48. "How about WHEN?"
  49. >"I don't… kn-"
  50. "Ok, let's make this the easiest one."
  51. >"Easiest?"
  52. "What's my last name?"
  53. >And with that, time stopped.
  54. >She stayed for a solid 5 minutes, until I kindly asked her to get off…
  55. "I'm sorry Nicole." I say, trying to bring her back to the situation. "Please be so kind as to get off. I have to prepare for tomorrow" I repeat
  56. >She froze, staying still, not moving, or even a struggle.
  57. >I sat upright once more, and carried her off me and gently laid her on the bed.
  58.
  59. >As that happened, I felt Nicole's breath go faster the moment I had her in my hands.
  60. "Goodnight, Ma'am" I say, as I start to walk away from the stiff kobold.
  61. >"Anon, wait." she creeked, holding back another waterfall of tears. "Why would you miss an opportunity to feel good?"
  62. "Because it doesn't feel good if, and I say this again, its not with someone I love, who just as much loves me."
  63. >"But, would it have helped if I said I love you?"
  64. "Don't mix love with lust. It makes the long run worse."
  65. >…
  66. >"But if I tell you its an order…"
  67. "No, you see," I turn around, starting to feel irratated "That's one problem. I only see you as my boss, and unfortunate master. YOU see me as a pet and unfortunate servant."
  68. >"You mean, you don't see me as a woman?"
  69. "I never said that. I just said that I don't see a stable relationship popping in when there's… this…" I point to my arm brace "inbetween."
  70. >"So… that's how it's going to be then."
  71. "Huh?" I say, as I was about to open the door.
  72. >Suddenly, I felt a huge force of 2 hands over my shoulder keeping the door shut.
  73. >Looking back, I see an angry kobold in a nightgown, looking at me with a slight snarl.
  74. >"Anon, as your boss, how about we make a deal?"
  75. "Wait, what?"
  76. >"Simple, you go with me now, have a stress free night, and I promise you you can live out your life with my daughter normally, without any touch from me."
  77. "This is blackmail"
  78. >"Question still stands" she continued, making her snarl a grin
  79. "And if I don't?"
  80. >"Off to playhouse, of course, seeing as you won't be fit and too dangerous to live near monsters in general."
  81. >Well shit. Definitely blackmail
  82. >Only one way out of the situation now, I just hoped she doesn't call it out.
  83. >I place my finger on the kobold's mouth, pushing it afar from my face, surprising it.
  84. "Then do it. At least the Hellhounds like getting to know me"
  85. >"B-but, WHY DON'T YOU WANT IT?"
  86. "Because then, that's rape"
  87. >"DAMNIT" she screamed, slamming her fist at the door. "ARE YOU SAVING YOURSELF FOR SOMEONE SPECIAL OR SOMETHING?"
  88. "Again, WAAAY too late on saving myself. And the fact I've been through playhouse is proof I am beyond saving."
  89. >"NOT WHAT I MEANT. WHY WON'T YOU LET ME HAVE THIS!? JUST ONCE, PLEASE! I CAN SMELL YOU WANTING IT!"
  90. "Ma'am, please, understand where I'm coming from. Yes, my body follows biological instinct, BUT, there's something I, may-or-may-not-know out of experience."
  91. >"What?"
  92. "If I do, take up your offer now, which probably, PROBABLY, could be taken another time, it will start off with a night of long love making, followed by regret in the morning, and forever awkward looks to one another from that point on. And no amount of alcohol before, inbetween, or after can bring things back the way they were."
  93. >Nicole stared, jaw dropped, and I slightly pushed her away from me to open the door.
  94. "Goodnight, Ma'am." I finish as I walk out.
  95. >"Goodnight, Anon." she replied as I closed the door.
  96. >After shutting it, I sat on the ground one more time, rubbing my whole face over the situation.
  97. >And soon after, I heard sobbing.
  98. >May as well end the night before it gets any worse.
  99. >I just hope I didn't dig TOO deep of a grave…
  100.
  101. >I headed to the servant's quarters at the quiet night, knowing that the last thing I'd want was to explain to my master why my crotch was smelling like her mother's territory.
  102. >Though I felt like I was being watched
  103. >Opening the door to the open bathroom and taking off my clothes, I let the water run to my head as I let my thoughts distract me.
  104. >Did I go to far?
  105. >Did she call out my bluff?
  106. >Is she calling playhouse?
  107. >How will 'Skitles' feel about this?
  108. >Poor girl, I know she's annoying in trying to order me around and take care of me.
  109. >But it seems to stem from other things, I just can't put my finger on it.
  110. >How will I break it to her that I was nearly her mother's toy?
  111. >SHOULD I break it down to her.
  112. "Hey 'Skittles', just to let you know, against my will, you get to call me daddy soon." I thought
  113. >Nah, sounds too blunt.
  114. "I hope you don't mind, but I prefer your mother over you, she's like a mature version"
  115. >That's even worse.
  116. >Next thing to ask is, how do I keep this a secret, and will she as well?
  117. >Bad enough I was suspiciously gone for quite a while, I have to be prepared with questions she and other possible suspects will bombard me with.
  118. >How did I get to this mess.
  119. >And suddenly, I heard the nozzle squeak and the water stop
  120. >"Don't waste water" said an emotionless voice. "Mistress wouldn't like that"
  121. >I couldn't help but look to see an emotionless shoggoth look at me in her, if I had to guess, pyjamas,
  122. "Hey, you're still up?"
  123. >"I was about to ask you that as well."
  124. "Well I had a rough night" I say, standing back up and wrapping a towel around me.
  125. >"Looks like it"
  126. "Anyway, I need to go to bed, I'm pretty tired after what happened."
  127. >"Yeah, you look stressed and overworked. Not easy being a pet, huh?"
  128. "Ce La Vie"
  129. >"You need to relax." she continued, grabbing something within her clothes "I know what can make you feel good and ease the stress."
  130. >NO
  131. >NO NOT THIS AGAIN
  132. "No, please n-."
  133. >Before I could finish, she pulls out a small bottle
  134. >"You don't want it?"
  135. "Uh…"
  136. >"Thought so" she giggled and hands it to me.
  137. "What's this?"
  138. >"Some nice smelling rubbing oil." she continued "When I have a headache, I just take a few whiffs and I feel better."
  139. "Thanks. I'll give it a try later" I chuckle
  140. >"Good, now go to bed, I have to clean his up tomorrow"
  141. >I give a small smile as I pack my things and head out the door.
  142. "Goodnight Agnes"
  143. >"'Night Anon"
  144. >As I close the door and head to my master's room, I saw a little one pull my sleeves one more time that night.
  145. >She gave me a drawn picture, a smile, 2 thumbs up, and hugged my leg. Soon after walked away cheerfully. I couldn't help but smile.
  146. >Finally, I reached the door and slowly opened i. The room was quiet, and I saw "Skittles", on her bed.
  147. >And when I moved in the room, I saw her shuffle away from me…
  148.
  149. >I slowly and quietly walked to the room, hoping that my shampoo-ed scent wouldn't give me away. Wouldn't want to disturb her sleep.
  150. >Setting up my bed, which was right of her's, I carefully layed myself to rest. Setting my alarm once more for the next day, I take one more look at the Kobold, with her eyes closed, and giving a… Scrunchy… Pouty face?
  151. >Probably a bad dream.
  152. >I couldn't help but smile, and soon after she tries to cover face with her blanket.
  153. I thought "Huh, funny. If I didn't know any better, I'd say…"
  154. >She then rolled over to the other side, facing the door, and away from me
  155. >'Uh Oh'
  156. >Immediatley, I slowly got up, ignoring the fact hat I just got comfortable.
  157. >As I began to quietly approach the kobold, I heard sobbing.
  158. >"…-hate you… I hate you…" she said through her small whining.
  159. >As my hand slowly approached her shoulder, I saw her ear twich.
  160. >She instanly moved her shoulder away, hiding her face with her pillow
  161. "Master, is everything ok?"
  162. >"No." she said
  163. "Would you like to tell me what's wrong?"
  164. >"No."
  165. >I didn't know what to do. I scratched my face and I felt myself sweating more than I should.
  166. >I sat on her bed and turned on a lamp, watching as she tried to keep herself away from me more and more.
  167. "Did I do something? Something wrong? Something to anger you"
  168. >"Mhmm" she nodded
  169. "Alright, what is it?"
  170. >"…-st…-g-…-ay…" she muffled. I didn't understand any of that.
  171. >I tried to place my hand on her shoulder again. Hoping to get a clear repeat of what she just said.
  172. "What's with you? You were so happy and energetic earlier, you didn't mind me being near-"
  173. >And suddenly, she turned to me, Eyes red from tears, Ears folded down, and as she approached me in her pyjamas, her fangs were visible from her mouth. She was not happy.
  174. >"I SAID STAY AWAY FROM ME YOU JERK!" she snapped.
  175. >Caught by surprise, I fell back a bit.
  176. >I saw an angry kobold snarling at me and wiping her eyes with her long sleeves as well
  177. "Can you explain to me why are you so angry?"
  178. >"THAT'S NOT A WAY TO TALK TO YOUR MASTER!"
  179. "Forgive me then, Master, what made you so angry?"
  180. >"YOU, YOU PRICK! BACKSTABBING LITTLE… mmmmmfffff" She said hesitantly.
  181. "I-"
  182. >"ASS!"
  183. >We both looked at each other with shock, as she tried to cover her mouth.
  184. "Since when were you fond of profanity?" I ask
  185.
  186. >"JUST SHUT UP, YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DID!"
  187. "Watch in confusion as my master yells at me?"
  188. >"DON'T PLAY DUMB WITH ME!"
  189. "Then, please, be so kind, as to tell me, WHAT I DID!"
  190. >"YOU WANNA KNOW?" she said, standing up on her bed
  191. "What do you think?"
  192. >"I WAS WAITING FOR YOU!"
  193. "Then I'm sorry for being la-"
  194. >"I WENT OUT TO LOOK FOR YOU!"
  195. "I would've come e-"
  196. >"AND I SAW WHERE YOU WENT"
  197. >And with that, I just stood there in silence, hoping she wouldn't finish that statement fully.
  198. >How do I break it down to her that nothing happened?
  199. "I-"
  200. >"I SAW YOU GO IN MOM'S ROOM!"
  201. "Let me-"
  202. >"DO YOU THINK I'M STUPID? THAT I DON'T KNOW WHAT SHE'S UP TO?"
  203. >At that point I just kept silent, better off letting the air out.
  204. >"DO YOU THINK I DON'T SMELL HER WHEN SHE CALLS YOU OUT? DO YOU THINK I WAS ABLE TO TRACK YOU DOWN WHEN YOU WERE AWAY?"
  205. "Please, let me explain"
  206. >"AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF, I SAW YOU GET IN THERE! DO YOU THINK I DIDN'T SEE YOU AS I HID BEHIND A CORNER TO SURPRISE YOU? I WANTED THE NIGHT TO END WITH A FUN MOMENT! NOT THIS!"
  207. >Holy shit, this is the first time I've seen her explode like this, and I know her for less than a few weeks
  208. >"YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BE 'MY' PET! NO ONE ELSE'S! I SAW YOU GET IN THE ROOM AND I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT AT FIRST! I THOUGHT YOU WOULDN'T BETRAY ME, YOUR MASTER! I WAITED FOR YOU IN THAT CORNER, HOPING YOU'D GET OUT QUICK! THAT IT WAS A MISUNDERSTANDING! BUT NO! YOU WERE IN THERE A LONG TIME! I WAS AFRAID YOU'D GO FOR MOM, BUT TURNS OUT MY FEAR WAS TRUE!"
  209. "Master, please, let me explain."
  210. >"AND JUST WHEN I THOUGHT I COULD LIE TO MYSELF ANY FURTHER, WHEN YOU FINALLY CAME OUT OF THE ROOM, I SMELLED MOM, MY MOM, ALL OVER YOU! NOT EVEN A HARD SHOWER CAN WIPE THE SMELL OFF YOU! BUT HEY, I'M GLAD YOU DIDN'T SEE THE KOBOLD HIDING AND CRYING IN THE CORNER WAITING FOR YOU TO APPROACH! I WAS BEGINNING TO LIKE YOU, BUT NOW I SEE YOU ARE NOTHING BUT A BACKSTABBER! JUST LIKE THE REST!"
  211. >And after that session, she took a lot of short breaths
  212. >And soon after, tears started forming again, and she began crying, covering her eyes on her sleevs after sitting back on the bed
  213.
  214. "Done?"
  215. >"What do you" *Sniff* "think? Jerk."
  216. "Would you like to hear my side of the story?"
  217. >"You better."
  218. "Ok, few things first. Yes, I went to her room."
  219. >"I knew it"
  220. "But more like dragged against my will."
  221. >And with that, she looked at me with nothing but surprise on her face. Stopped wiping her face and tears too
  222. "And yes, she was on me, but I was pushed down."
  223. >"And then?"
  224. "And throughout the entire time, I was pleading her to stop. Halting all her 'Advances'."
  225. >"So… why did I smel-"
  226. "I'm getting to that. I begged her to stop but she kept trying to persuade me to stay. Rubbing herself in the process."
  227. >"And you just took it?"
  228. "No, I told her to get off me, and she threatened me with blackmail."
  229. >"Oh…"
  230. "What?"
  231. >"That… sounds like mom… when she goes to… extremes."
  232. "Well, if it makes you feel any better, I didn't take it."
  233. >"Huh?"
  234. "She threatened me with 'playhouse' and I didn't buy it."
  235. >"ARE YOU CRAZY?"
  236. "No, I just know how to handle Peo- er, Others."
  237. >"WHAT MAKES YOU THINK SHE WON'T DO IT?"
  238. "Trust me, she won't."
  239. >"Then, why did you go to the maid's room then?"
  240. "I was hoping to take a shower, wipe the smell off, and prevent… this… conversation."
  241. >And with that, she just stared at me, wagging her tail slowly
  242. "Now that that's out of the way, I want to ask."
  243. >"What?"
  244. "Why are we having this conversation?"
  245. >"Huh?"
  246. "Why are you angry at me for what I do in my private life? Why are you so stern about me by even a suspicion of 'Betrayal' which, by the way, doesn't exist."
  247. >"Why doesn't it-"
  248. "I just wanna know, why are you angry at me? Why are you scolding me like we are in a relatioship? Last I checked, miss, 'Call me your Master', There was nothing Intimate or Special happening between us."
  249. >"I-"
  250. "You treat me like a pet. A slave, and I do my part. So why are you getting mad at me when there was nothing for us to make to begin with?"
  251. >And with that her jaw dropped.
  252. >"Oh yeah…" she murmured to herself.
  253. "Unless, there's something you wanna tell me…?"
  254. >She looked at me, and her face slowly turned red.
  255. >"N-Nothing."
  256. "So, why were you mad at me for coming in late?"
  257. >"I SAID IT'S NOTHING! YOU JUST DIDN'T TELL ME, OK?" she yelled, getting up from the bed
  258. "Sure it wa-"
  259. >"NOW GET OUT OF MY ROOM!" She demanded, pushing me to the door
  260. "But my st-"
  261. >"OUT! I'M STILL MAD AT YOU!" she screamed once more.
  262. "How am I supposed to clean myself and get ready?"
  263. >"DO IT TOMORROW!" she said, before slamming the door to my face.
  264. "No goodnight?"
  265. >All I heard after that was a very muffled "'Night"
  266. "Perfect" I groaned, collapsing on the floor with my hands on my face.
  267. "What a Lovely night this ended up."
  268. >"Doesn't seem that lovely though." said a cold, yet familiar voice.
  269. >I turn around to see The same emotionless shoggoth looking at me, while wearing her pyjamas.
  270. >I Look behind, and I see the little one, rubbing one eye with one arm, and her teddy on the other, while giving a tired smile.
  271. >I couldn't help but smile back.
  272.
  273. >I was dragged into Agnes' room, seeing her bedroom had… 2 joined beds…
  274. >1 Regular, queen sized bed, and a small one right attached to it.
  275. >Agnes followed behind, as I went in. The little one kept on pulling me in the room with a big smile.
  276. >"She's very happy that you're staying with us tonight." said Agnes in monotone.
  277. "You don't seem to be bothered."
  278. >"Believe me, I'm pretty happy about this as well."
  279. "So, what's the occasion? Pity over a failed slave? Looking for some form of leverage?"
  280. >"Nah, just wanted to let you have a proper rest after the mistresses' shenanigans."
  281. "I couldn't tell"
  282. >"Don't be like that. Think of it as a sleepover."
  283. "A sleepover? With a guy and girls in the same room? That's new."
  284. >"Come now, at the very least, she does." Pointed Agnes to the little one, as she headed to the bathroom.
  285. >And as I give off a scoff, I felt my arm being tugged by the little one.
  286. >She was standing beside the bed, pointing at the covers.
  287. "What is it?" I ask, grabbing it up and checking inside.
  288. >The little one crawled under the blanket, carrying her stuffed toy with. She happily set herself on the pillow, waiting for me to tuck her in.
  289. >I gave a smile put the blanket over her, rubbing her happy head afterwards.
  290. "So where'll I sleep?" I ask, giving the little one scratches as she smiled.
  291. >"At the bed, of course" continued agnes, coming out the bathroom, looking slightly different, with her "hair" down as well.
  292. "And where will you sleep?"
  293. >"Bed. Duhh"
  294.
  295. "Wait, we're sharing?"
  296. >"Don't make it weird."
  297. "Not that. It's just, this is the third time tonight this happened."
  298. >"Look, if it makes you feel better, I promise I won't do anything."
  299. "Promise?"
  300. >"Believe me, I wouldn't even THINK about anything with the little one around."
  301. >And with that, I took a deep breath, rubbed my temples once more as I felt all the energy drained from my body.
  302. "Can't argue. Bed now." I moan, as I collapse face first to the pillow.
  303. >I heard a small giggle from Agnes afterwards, as I nuzzled myself in the middle most side.
  304. >But soon after, I felt a small finger poke my face. I turned to see the little one lying down and facing me, giving a small frown while hugging her little teddy.
  305. "What is it?"
  306. >Immediately, she turned and shuffled, looking like she wanted to get something from the small drawer by her bed.
  307. >"What's the matter?" Said Agnes, as she sat down on her side of the bed.
  308. [Makes "I don't know" Sound] while I looked at Agnes in confusion.
  309. >Immediately, I felt another tug on my arm, leading me to turn around as I sit upright.
  310. >The little one, showing me a big book, with her little toy beetween one of her arms.
  311. "'Big book of fairy tails' I didn't think anyone still loved these kind of things."
  312. >"She has some trouble reading big words" continued Agnes "But she loves stories being told to her."
  313. >The little one nodded strongly, as she put herself back in bed, lying down with her toy inbetween her arms.
  314. >She tried reaching from her position, the blanket at her feet, giving loud "Unnf"s, and pointed it to me, as she struggled to stay in place.
  315. >I gave a small chuckle, as I placed the blanket over her body, seeing her smile and snugged up in bed, looking at me as I held the book.
  316. "Don't you think this is moving… too fast?" I ask Agnes "I mean, in comparison to a normal get-to-know moment, we're practical strangers, or acquaintances."
  317. >"It's only weird if you make it weird." said agnes, lying down with her back facing me. "Besides, if it's any compensation, you're the first person that I ever let stay on the same bed as me."
  318. "How does that not make it any less weird?"
  319. >"Look" yawned Agnes "I need you to do the job for me tonight, I'm tired out."
  320. "You want me to read to her?"
  321. >"Come on, she loves these stories."
  322. >"Mhmm" said the little one beside me
  323. >I gave a warming smile, and looked at Agnes one more time.
  324. "Just for tonight, right?"
  325. >"Right." came a sleepy voice from her
  326. "No funny business?"
  327. >"Right."
  328. "And you're just letting me stay out of kindness?"
  329. >"Don't push it."
  330. "Alright, little one, where do I start?" I ask, as I turn the book to the Table of Contents, sorted by authors.
  331. >"Go for any, she love's all of them."
  332. >And as I skimmed through, I saw a collection by writers like Aesop, Dickens, and even ones from foreign authors like Wilhelm Busch and Heinrich Hoffmann and the like. Picking from many, I landed on the one that seamed the most recognizable, the tale of "Cinderella."
  333. "I hope you love a story of 'Magic', 'Romance', 'Happiness and Charm', of a woman who finds a prince and they learn to fall in love, despite their names and social statuses."
  334. >"You sound like a natural at this." chuckled Agnes. "I can't wait to see how the story goes."
  335. "Not in front of the little one."
  336. >"I tremble with anticipation on that one."
  337. "No weirdness, remember?"
  338. >"Fine." gave Agnes a final chuckle.
  339. "'You Listenin'?" I ask, looking at the little one, tucked in bed.
  340. >"Mhmm" she said with a smile.
  341.
  342. >And as I nearly finished the book, I watched as Erika's drowsiness grew.
  343. "And then the prince put the shoe on Cinderella, leading to a perfect fit. The prince soon recognized that she was the one he fell in love with at the ball, and then they lived happily ever after." I finish, closing the book.
  344. >I saw the little one nuzzled up in bed, sleeping with her toy, and a smile on her face.
  345. "The end." I say with a smile, as I rub the head of the sleeping kid, giving out a happy and content sound…
  346. >"You know that story makes no sense, when you come to think about it. It's more wor-"
  347. "NOT IN FRONT OF THE KID, LET HER HAVE THIS." I harshly whisper. "Let her dream and at least have a happy look in the future."
  348. >"Come on. I mean, why is it the prince only looked for the fe-"
  349. "Don't."
  350. >"Alright, alright." yawned the shoggoth. "You should take over more often, you're pretty good"
  351. "Ha, don't tempt me."
  352. >"Sleepy time…" moaned the little one.
  353. >"Right, right." chuckled Agnes, closing the lights and lamps with her slime limbs. " 'Night Erika!"
  354. >" 'Night sis'."
  355. >" 'Night Anon."
  356. "Goodnight Agnes." I say, as I lay my head int he pillow, looking at the roof before closing my eyes easily with a smile.
  357. >"Goodnight Anon" said the little one to my right.
  358. "Goodnight kid!"
  359. >"Please say goodnight to bubbles."
  360. >I open my eyes in confusion, to turn and see her pointing at her little teddy. I gave one more smile, and booped the teddy's nose.
  361. "Goodnight Bubbles"
  362. >The little one made her toy wave goodbye as she went to continue.
  363. >"Bubbles says goodnight too."
  364. >And with that, the room fell silent, as I let my thoughts go through my head and look back on the days gone by…
  365. >…
  366. "Heh"
  367. >…
  368. "Hehehe"
  369. >"What's the matter Anon?" said Agnes in a more groggy like tone.
  370. "Nothing, just that, lately, whenever I say goodnight, I usually am outside of a room and nowhere near a bed. Much less in it."
  371. >" 'Ha, don't tempt me' " chuckled Agnes.
  372. "Shutting up."
  373.
  374. >Another day, another headache.
  375. >Or at least, that's what I first thought.
  376. >"Wake up 'Manmeat'" came an emotionless voice in the morning.
  377. "Wait, what?" I groggily say, slowly opening my eyes. seeing the shoggoth out of bed, and all set in her maid Uniform.
  378. >"Hah, got you there, bout time you woke up."
  379. "Where's your alarm? how'd you get up so early?"
  380. >"Got my own biological clock. Little one's already making our breakfast with her sisters."
  381. "Smart one, isn't she."
  382. >"I should say so myself, raised her since she was given to me, like my other sisters. She just decided to stick with me more."
  383. "So, why do you give her the special treatment? Staying with you, and not her other sisters?"
  384. >"Because she wants to. Her sisters don't object, and they're fine with it. They have their own thing, and she has too."
  385. "Great" I yawned, "Explains why she's so enthusiastic with spending time with anyone."
  386. >"You look like you came from a good dream, after 2 weeks of no sleep. Was the bed we made you made of stone, that this is the first time you had an actual rest after a long while?"
  387. "Nah" I chuckle "Just that after going to 3 other beds, one where I was forced, this felt close to home."
  388. >"Good," said Agnes, putting out a notepad "I now know how to readjust your bed for when you sleep. Anyway, get ready, we have a long day today and it's not yet even 5 O' Clock."
  389. "Riiiiight… But my clothes are still at my ma- er, 'Skittles'' room"
  390. >"No worry." said Agnes, fiddling with something in the cabinet next to her, pulling out a new suit… "I maid another pair."
  391. "How did you…"
  392. >"I have the materials."
  393. "How did you get it at my size… without me knowing beforehand?"
  394. >Agnes just stood silent, looking at me with no emotion, tossing one uniform to me afterward.
  395. >"Go get ready, we'll all eat together once you're at the table."
  396. "But I still-"
  397. >"See ya there!" she yelled, before closing the door.
  398. >Are all shoggoths like this? All work, no play, doesn't that make a dull girl?
  399.
  400. >And with that, I took a quick shower, got dressed, and headed to the dining room, seeing all the mini-shoggoths eating at the usual big table, with the little one saving a seat between her and Agnes.
  401. >I could smell the cooked eggs laying on the table, buttered toast on every plate, and as usual, as soon as I sat done, those black sludges dug in happily
  402. "Anything new happening today?" I ask, enjoying my food.
  403. >"Nothing much. We take care of the house, I organize everything, and you have to go with your 'Master' for the whole day."
  404. "For once, I don't look forward on a Sunday"
  405. >"Oh come on now, these meals are the only time we have together, all of my sisters and such. Anything you want to know?"
  406. "Actually, yes. For starters, how is it, you're the only one that seems the oldest among your 'Sisters'?"
  407. >"I was the first, made, around, 20 or so years ago, by a demon lord who felt like her only servant needed some more help and company."
  408. "And then?"
  409. >"And as I grew up, by the time I was 12, She felt, 'Hey, how hard is it to make a couple more?'"
  410. "That explains the 18 others…"
  411. >"Then, after what seemed like 4 new ones a month, she stopped after making this little one," pointed Agnes to Erica, as she and her sisters nodded with their mouths full. "At that point, enough was enough."
  412. "And then?"
  413. >"And then I helped raise them, at least, until the next 2 years"
  414. "What happened after that?"
  415. >"And then, there were financial troubles, that mistress couldn't keep us anymore, and I had to find a new master to serve, or we just wither and die, since we had no other hope, and the rest were too young. Couldn't afford being homeless. I wouldn't want them to experience that. I had to stay strong for them."
  416. "Is that why you show no other emotion other than 'I find this life extremely unsatisfying'?"
  417. >"Don't push your luck."
  418. "So, how'd you find this…"
  419. >"Well," said Agnes, signaling the Shoggoths to clean the table once they finished eating. "A friendly human, walking with a a happy kobold and a young pup between their hands saw us in a corner, and me holding Erica, all wrapped up. Offered us a place to stay, and we've been here ever since."
  420. "I'm… sorry to have asked."
  421. >"It's fine, nothing you can do know except learn from the past. Don't let it shape who you are, but as a template on who to be or not to be."
  422. "Learn from the past, huh? Heh." I chuckle "But the least you can do is acknowledge them, right?"
  423. >"Pretty much, yeah."
  424. "Thank you." I say, standing up, heading to the door. "Long day today, can't afford to mess it up."
  425. >"Go do your thing, Anon, we'll take care of the rest!"
  426. "Will do." I say, giving the little one behind the door more headpats.
  427. >"Anon?" called out Agnes one more. "Why don't you tell me more about you?"
  428. "We can talk about it next time."
  429. >"Awww…"
  430. "If you can't wait, there's always that copy of my file from…"
  431. >"Right… I understand. Thanks for the input!"
  432. "See ya Agnes, it was nice talking to you."
  433. >"Go do your thing 'Manmeat'." she said, as the little one closed the door and went to the main halls with me.
  434. >As I walked on, I felt her pulling my sleeve one more time.
  435. >"Anon, take" she said, handing me another drawing.
  436. >It was a childishly drawn picture, of me, being the only human there, holding hands with a black shoggoth looking form, together with 2 other kobolds holding our hands as well. There was a little child on my shoulders, and a huge rainbow, sunshine and clouds behind me…
  437. >And what seems to be the ISS shuttle…
  438. "Huh…"
  439. >"Like it?" asked the little one, twindling her fingers.
  440. "Love it" I say, rubbing her head one more time, before telling her to go off to her Agnes.
  441. >She smiled, gave me a hug on my leg, then 2 thumbs up, before skipping off…
  442. >I smiled in return, before keeping that paper safe in my suit, though it quickly faded as I stood behind skittle's door.
  443. >Taking deep breaths, I fixed my suit one last time, before knocking at her door.
  444. "Master, your breakfast will be ready soon."
  445.
  446. "Master?" I knock the door once more to no response.
  447. >Slowly, I opened the door, peeking my head in, hoping to not have awokened the beast I angered last night.
  448. >Nothing.
  449. >Bed was empty. Bathroom looked used, but more like it was used earlier.
  450. "Master, are you here?" I asked once more, looking at all corners to make sure I wasn't blind.
  451. >Definitely empty. Something's not right.
  452. >I rushed down to the kitchen, seeing Agnes and the others getting ready, I had no choice but to ask while panicking
  453. "Have you seen 'Skittles'?"
  454. >"Check her room," said Agnes coldly "its 'Early' for her, she might still be sleeping."
  455. "Room's empty."
  456. >And she just stared at me, unfazed, yet only raised an eyebrow.
  457. >"Eh, she'll always come back, like always."
  458. "You make her sound like some kind of… dog."
  459. >"Isn't she though? I mean, technically."
  460. "That doesn't help."
  461. >"Look, she's gotta be around here somewhere." continued Agnes with her work. "Look around the house some more. If all else fails, cook some bacon, steak or anything she likes to lure her out."
  462. "Alright, thanks, I guess."
  463. "No worries."
  464. >And with that, my long perilous quest around the mansion to find a missing Kobold began.
  465. >I looked almost everywhere, Dining room, Living room, Main halls, nothing.
  466. >That was, until I continued near the bedrooms to backtrack.
  467. >I stopped myself near the recognizable door of the Nicole's bedroom.
  468. >I took a big gulp, as I recalled what happened the night before. How she clinged on to me needily, and how she threatened me with sending me back to 'Playhouse'
  469. >Immediately, I took a 180 degree turn, and dashed back out to the living room.
  470. >Thinking back on it, in this big house, I feel like I need a map and a tour guide before I even settled in.
  471. >Shrugging it off, I looked at one of the other places I haven't checked, and headed to the garden.
  472. >I went there, hoping for the worst to pop in. A kobold who was angry at me last night might still be having a midnight rage that never went away.
  473. >And as I opened the garden door, I looked out on the green, seeing the sun rise, as it's reflection came from the far away gazebo.
  474. >And to calm my nerves even more, there she was, center of the garden, trying to throw discs once more at 6 AM, but to no avail, and throwing an angry tantrum for every failed toss.
  475. "Good morning 'Master'." I say, as I approached her.
  476.
  477. >"What do you want?"
  478. "Just wanted to inform you that you'll be having breakfast soon. Will you be coming?"
  479. >"Depends, did you tell mom about it?"
  480. "I believe that one of the shoggoths have already told her, I don't see a reason to tell her."
  481. >She grunted in frustration, as she took one of the remaining 3 discs at her side, and failed to toss it as well.
  482. "Is… everything alright?"
  483. >"No." she growled
  484. "Was it from last night?"
  485. >"Yeah." she said, tossing another disc to make it turn a 90 degree angle and roll away from her.
  486. >I couldn't help but laugh inside, as I saw her clench her fist and continue to to avoid all eye contact from me.
  487. "Wanna talk about it?"
  488. >She kept quiet. Gripping her last disk and kept it in front of herself. She took deep breaths, as she began to take aim.
  489. "Remember what I told you about positioning." I say, coming closer to her. "Back straight, throw with the force of your body."
  490. >She stood still, trying to reposition herself to my command.
  491. >And as I went behind her like yesterday, I placed myself as a guiding template. Putting her hands on mine, arm shape as mine.
  492. "Remember to use it as a counterweight." I say, feeling her tail wag again, and her breath get heavy. "Throw it when you have the proper force."
  493. >And with that, I stepped back, to see her retteach herself to do it right.
  494. >And with a spin, she tossed it as far as yesterday, this time, missing the gazeebo.
  495. >But she wasn't smiling, no cheer, nor praise. Nothing.
  496. "Would, you still like to go for your breakfast, master?" I ask.
  497. >She was silent and still. Her tail stopped wagging as well.
  498. "Master?" I say, putting a hand over her shoulder.
  499. >And immediately, she snapped back, very familiar to last night…
  500. >"I'M STILL MAD AT YOU!"
  501. "For what? Last night? Didn't we clear up already that it wasn't my fault to begin with?"
  502. >"NOT THAT!" she said, as tears formed
  503. "Then what?"
  504. >"I- I don't know…"
  505. "Don't know…?"
  506. >"It's just… Why didn't you tell me?"
  507. "That happened too soon. I didn't have time to tell you, and I sure as hell didn't want to do it so late at night."
  508. >"WELL, I mean, yeah…" she said looking down.
  509. "So why are you angry?"
  510. >And then, she looked at me in the eyes once more, making a snarl slowly.
  511. >and after a few second long staring contest. She charged at me, dropping the snarl.
  512. >I nearly fell, tackled at full force, with her giving me a bear hug, with big paws like those as well.
  513. >"IT'S NOT FAIR!" She yelled, hitting one hand repatedyl on my chest. "NOT FAIR NOT FAIR NOT FAIR NOT FAIR!"
  514. "What is, 'Not Fair', Master?"
  515. >"Mom…" she sobbed. "I trusted her."
  516. "Last night?"
  517. >"Mhmm"
  518. "Wanna talk about it after breakfast?" I ask, scratching her ear.
  519. >"Mhmm"
  520. >And we stayed still in the garden for a while, with the smell of fresh pancakes and bacon coming to our noses.
  521. "You know, we can't exactly talk about it after breakfast if you don't… you know, have breakfast."
  522. >"Mhmm."
  523. "Can you let go of me now?"
  524. >"Uhn-Uhn" she said, shaking her head.
  525.
  526. >As we started walking back in the house, we were silent, minus the sobbing of "Skittles" by my shoulder.
  527. "Hey."
  528. >"Yeah?"
  529. "What are you going to do when you get in?"
  530. >"I don't know."
  531. "Maybe eat? You didn't have breakfast."
  532. >"That'd… Be nice.."
  533. >"Good, then he can work on the plates." came a cold voice from behind, pulling me back in surprise.
  534. "What is it with you people and pulling people from behind?" I yell, rubbing my head. "What's the rush?"
  535. >"Hey! NO FAIR!" yelled "Skittles." "WHAT'S THAT FOR?"
  536. >"Nothing" said Agnes. "It's just normal guidelines, in this household, to not let pets near the dining hall when there is a meal on going for the masters."
  537. >"No. No YOU ARE NOT DOING THIS ON ME NOW."
  538. >"I only follow the mistress' orders, I'm sorry Chl-"
  539. >"DO NOT I'M SORRY ME. WHY CAN'T HE STAY JUST THIS ONCE?"
  540. "Actually, that's a good point. Agnes, is something happening? Normally I'm just following orders, but this?"
  541. >"We worry about that later, you may be her pet," said Agnes "And you may follow her orders, but she has her OWN master to talk about."
  542. >"YOU DO NOT BRING MOM INTO THIS. I DON'T WANT TO SEE HER."
  543. >"Well, yes, orders are orders."
  544. "Then I choose not to follow that order."
  545. >Jesus fuck, it's been a while since I said something like that
  546. >"Hope you love the hounds at Playhouse then."
  547. >And with that, I just stood there.
  548. "How, did-"
  549. >"Anon's not scared of that. I can just say that the accusation is false."
  550. >"She seems serious this time."
  551. "I… Understand. Master, I think she has a point."
  552. >"YOU TAKE HER SIDE TOO?"
  553. >I couldn't help it. I know it felt wrong, but I knew better than to call out someone's bluff once, then test murky waters again. I looked down and away from her, as she looked at me in despair.
  554. >"No…"
  555. "I'm sorry master, I can't."
  556. >"Indeed. She wants to talk to you, it's important."
  557. >And without another word, she just walked away, storming to the dining hall. I felt like I backstabbed someone, a bit familiar…
