I'd just managed to get my computer operating system the way I wanted it. I'd been working on it since 2006, off and on. I'd just finished updating all my config files, and was waiting for Slackware 14.0, and that would have been it. Its damn good. Finally got around to creating search and play in the desktop console, so that anything I downloaded into the 'new stuff' folder, would be listed at the bottom of the console, next to the prompt. Then with an alias, instantly playable by either an audio or video program. No going into the new stuff folder and searching around for the file. Once finished playing or viewing, I could tap up once on the keypad, quickly remove the alias and replace it with the 'rm' command, and it would delete the file. A very simple, efficient and elegant way of doing things.
