I saw people talking about this discussion, and so I'm jumping over here really quickly to bring some focus to something that was said just now:

this is the first time anyone has come to me directly requesting I bring the floor posts back.

I think that's less because there was something wrong with the system and more that everyone left already. Several years ago, I posted regularly and was actively shouted down. My memes were spammed and my inbox was lit on fire. I left, because I don't have the energy for the dumpster fire that this community decided it wanted to turn into. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

When all you want to do as a moderator is react to angry players, the angry ones are the only ones who'll stick around.

What suggestions would you have for making it less of a "dumpster fire", beyond what's already been suggested? I can't promise I'm going to take all suggestions, but since this is some of the only constructive feedback I've ever received, here, I'm interested to keep the conversation moving.
