Austin + Nora, Oct 15

Oct 15 19:06:55 <Knave>	Austin shouldered his satchel as he left the Kitty Cat Cosplay Cafe. He'd toyed with the idea of leaving his uniform on to walk back in many a time, but it just felt less special that way. Out of habit and blind hope, he pulled out a notepad and produced a pen from behind his ear, tapping one against the other rhythmically as he ambled through the streets. Maybe he'd have an idea for a story, or see something interesting. He kind of felt like he'd been on autopilot lately, which apparently didn't include writing articles. Best to at least try to get back on his game.
Oct 15 19:10:30 <SpookyBee>	Out across the street, a lone Nora leans against the corner of a building, her phone out and headphones on! They're big, with neon trim, like most of her attire. She's got on her usual setup of black fishnet stockings, lime-green short shorts, and a crop top jacket with neon purple accents!  Sprouting from her back is a new long, slender tale with bony spikes running down its spine... She hasn't noticed Austin just yet.
Oct 15 19:14:05 <Knave>	Upon seeing Nora, pen hovering over the page, he stows it away behind his ear again, into his shaggy mass of blond hair, and skates across the street towards her. He slides gently to a stop just away from her and raises a hand to get her attention, smiling amiably. "Hey. Fifth Sanctum, right?"
Oct 15 19:19:47 <SpookyBee>	Nora looks up at him, smiling a little and pulling her headset off! "Mm? Oh, uh, yeah... Fifth Sanctum." Nora nodnods! She's got a pair of long, demonesque horns sprouting from her forehead and sweeping back over her scalp now, as well.
Oct 15 19:22:43 <Knave>	Austin's smile jerks up briefly at the left in response, "I think I've seen you around." He offers a hand to shake, "I'm Austin. The one people talked about in hushed tones of respect. I also write for the paper, in theory."

Oct 15 19:36:20 <Knave>	"Yeah?" Austin raises an eyebrow, then look around at the town, "Can't imagine why. Seems to me like all the interesting stuff happens on campus." He thrusts his hands into his jacket pockets and looks back to Nora, "Say, you ever feel like life kinda goes in, like, bunches? Like, times where nothing happens, then everything happens?"

Oct 15 19:43:59 <Knave>	Austin nods, "I'm on the back end of some nothing, and it feels like a little everything's due about now." He blinks and shakes his head slightly, "Sorry, I think I've forgotten how you're meant to talk when you meet people. Been at Sunnybrook too long-" He taps his fingers against his temple as he realizes his mistake, "Long enough that I still think of it as Sunnybrook."
Oct 15 19:47:05 <SpookyBee>	"... I was never really at Brook, but I heard stuff 'bout it. Those GWI mooks are pretty fucked in the 'ead, right?" Nora's accent is a Boston one, and pretty smooth with her voice. Not too garrish or blatant, but it's there.

You hate them and they thought of you as either a tool or a weapon, depending." He smirks, and leans nonchalantly on a nearby post, "Just how school oughta be, right?" He's picked up plenty of mannerisms and phrases since leaving, but Austin still exudes San Francisco. "Truth be told, the new management kind of weirds me out."

Austin raises his eyebrows and inclines his head, "I know you weren't there, but take it from me, I don't think all these perfectly normal school administrators were just hanging out at Sunnybrook waiting for a chance to march us to Canada so they could run a normal school. Gotta be something up with them, and it's not anywhere near as obvious as it was with the old boss." Austin pulls a hand from his pocket and points, "/Plus/ everyone acts the same here as they did back at Sunnybrook, which is /weird/. I mean, I know their line is all about letting us be independent young adults and so on, but come on. The stuff students get away with doesn't fly if you're really trying to run a /normal/ school." He clears his throat, "Also, point of order, the GWU didn't shoot me, they just got me shot."

I mean, come'n, I could level a football field if I want'd to. Who's gonna stop me? Principle Vanilla?" She jokingly flexes an impressive arm, smiling a little! "But... That ain't here or there- I just think they wan' us to learn to behave like normal people."

He upturns his palms at his side with a shrug, "Normal. Never saw the appeal, myself, but I understand that some people strive."

He rolls his shoulders in an extended shrug, "I don't know, I'm just saying... muggles get to walk wherever they want. We at least gotta walk proud where we can, right?"

That makes you at least a little bit of a nerd by association." He lowers his head and throws up his arms, "Sorry. I don't make the rules."
