It's not ok to put people down no matter when and where and how. It's just not. I don't care what you've been through, I don't care if what you're saying doesn't mean much to you, it could mean a lot to the person you are targetting. I'm sure you already know that or else you wouldn't say that thing specially, right? You're not stupid, you obviously want to hurt them, so you pick the most hurtful thing you can off the top of your head. They could have heard that same thing so many times they may be starting to believe it, do you know how wrong that is? People are what they are because of themselves, so other's shouldn't ever try to convince them that they are anything less then what they think they are. You don't ever know the whole story, ever, so don't try to point out people's flaws just because you think you should. We've all been there, we've all done it. We're all human. We all have our points of imperfection, and I'm sure we've all had them pointed out once or twice. Why try to make it more? There's no good reason to put people down, so don't do it.
