  1. A Response to Discordian’s Thoughts on Operation Paris

  3. The original post by Discordian can be found at http://pastebin.com/NP5iiEBw. Please take the time to read it.

  5. Discordian was right to voice concerns about Operation Paris. Anonymous should oppose terrorism everywhere. Indeed, we have been keen to point out that whilst there was a massive outpouring of emotion for the Paris attacks, and rightly so, many were neglecting to notice other atrocities. For example, attacks in Beirut the day before — purportedly by Daesh — killed perhaps 43 people. Terrorism has no borders.

  7. I believe that Discordian was right to be sceptical about the motives of those involved in #OpParis. Indeed, some have pointed such scepticism at our Twitter account (@GroupAnon). Our post which, as the media would have everyone believe, “declares war” on Daesh has been retweeted over 14,000 times — we never expected this response, and we never sought it. Frankly, we were astounded by the response.

  9. The truth is, we didn’t declare war on Daesh as a result of the Paris attacks. We have been involved in #OpISIS since before the summer. To those jumping on the #OpParis bandwagon, we simply say this: if you really want to do something, if you really care, then let your actions back up your words.

  11. Discordian is also right to point out that #OpParis, and admittedly to some extend #OpISIS, may be a hindrance in some instances, disrupting vital intelligence. We have been happy to work with global intelligence agencies to provide them with the information we have gained by infiltrating jihadi networks. We should not be afraid to work with governments if our goals are aligned. #GhostSec has been successful in thwarting actual planned attacks. However, we urge anons to be cautious — don’t act recklessly. If you really want to fight Daesh, listen to Discordian and others, and act intelligently. Don’t make empty promises.

  13. I must admit that, despite having been involved in #OpISIS for many months, perhaps Anonymous needs a wider debate on the subject. Many are sceptical about the motives of #OpISIS, and its effectiveness. I accept that, and welcome an open debate. I only hope we can be united.

  15. Peace. Stay safe. #AnonFamily.
