  1. "Erin."
  2.
  3. The brunette slowly straightens her posture, her eyes still focusing on her hands that are folded on her lap. Erin bites her lip, taking a deep breath before her blue eyes meet the therapist's.
  4. "Just...uh, forget it."
  5. The therapist clicks her tongue, writing something on a note pad.
  6. "You'll never get over your hallucinations if you don't talk about them, you know."
  7. Erin looks down again, her expression full of scorn. Hallucination. It wasn't a hallucination. It was a ghost. Erin knew what she saw.
  8. Why didn't anyone believe her?
  9. "They call me ghost girl at school..." Erin trials off, and before she can speak up again, an alarm signaling the appointment ending rings.
  10. "We can talk about this more in our next session." The therapist shows Erin to the door, and Erin walks The teen lets out a frustrated sigh.
  11. "I don't need therapy. I need the truth." She mutters.
  12. ----
  13. A ghost drawn onto her desk, onto her locker, onto the bench where she eats her lunch...This was absurd and completely immature. Erin, when going to the school about it or her parnets, was told to
  14. not 'give in' to these bullies. Erin thought it'd be more helpful if they just, taught the bullies bullying was wrong, but hey, what did she know?
  15. She was just some ghost girl. Erim lets out a heavy sigh, putting her books on top of the drawn ghost so she doesn't have to see it.
  16. "Hey ghost girl!" a voice taunts. Erin doesn't need to turn around to recgonize it.
  17. Alex was the ringleader of this whole ghost girl thing. Apparently, their dads had been talking about it, and when Alexa found out, she made sure everyone knew.
  18. Erin stands there, unmoving. She can already feel her shoulder tensing from the grab Alexa was about to do to it. It was pretty routine.
  19. Alexa would taunt Erin, her friends usually joined in, and they always did this until theatre practice started.
  20. Routines can break themselves, though.
  21. "Leave her alone." an unfamialir voice intervenes, and Erin turns around to see a teenage girl with glasses standing in front of her protectively.
  22. The teenage girl was round and short, with soft brown hair. She barely reached Erin's shoulders, and was shorter than Alexa too.
  23. She wasn't very intmidating, but she wasn't afraid either. The girl with glasses glares Alexa down.
  24. The bully takes a step back, caught off guard, but quickly laughs.
  25. "And why would I listen to a little nerd like you?" some snickers were followed by the comment, and Erin felt awful.
  26. This girl was about to be bullied, too...then again, Erin didn't exactly beg her to itnervene, but she meant well, right? She certainly didn't deserve taunting of her own.
  27. "Because I'll probably be your boss one day." The girl with glasses responds almost instantly, and Alexa turns red at the comment. Erin's eyes widen, surprised anyone could speak up to Alexa like that.
  28. Alexa was a very violent girl. She's ready to swing a punch when Abby blocks it with her AP physics textbook.
  29. "OW!" Alexa screams in pain, shaking her hand. While the other students tried to see if Alexa was alright, the girl with glasses turns to Erin.
  30. "Let's get out of here."
  31. For some reason, Erin finds herself nodding absently and picking up her books to follow the mysterious girl.
  32. ----
  33. "Thanks."
  34. Erin is a little overwhelmed, honestly. Everything seemed to happen so fast, and it wasn't like her to follow someone she didn't know.
  35. Abby waves the apology off. "Some people are just super dumb. Like uber super dumb, you know? They think they're cool just because they do drugs."
  36. Erin cracks a half smile at the response, hugging her books close.
  37. The walk in silence for a while before Erin speaks up.
  38. "Are you going to...make me indebt to you or something?"
  39. Abby stops walking, looking at Erin before laughing. Erin gets flustered and Abby holds a hand out.
  40. "S-Sorry! Just...Why!? Why would I do that!? Whaaat!?"
  41. Erin tesnes. "I just don't see why anyone would help me is all."
  42. Abby stops laughing and her expression softens.
  43. "People are just afraid of what they don't understand." Abby reassures.
  44. Erin bites her lip, facing away from Abby.
  45. "Do you know why they call me ghost girl?" Erin mutters.
  46. "Yeah. And I believe you."
  47. Erin blinks, straightening up and turning to Abby again.
  48. "You..Belive me?"
  49. Abby smiles and nods.
  50. "Yeah! And I've actually been doing some extra work from physics, and honestly, I don't think it's really an unexplainable thing either.
  51. I think sciene could explain ghosts."
  52. Erin arches an eyebrow, mulling over the thought.
  53. "You know...you have a point. I mean, with the right technology and tools, it shouldn't be impossible to detect ghosts, at the very least."
  54. Abby nods encouragingly.
  55. "Wanna see my notes?"
  56. "Sure."
