Scene:

In the space between tick and tock, Jane Shepard stares at the azure figure floating before her.  She recognizes the four arms and the elongated, thin head of the Ethereal species, but free of withered and physical constraints, she can't help but feel awe at the being before her.  Full of life, full of light.  Four tendrils of warmth extend from its back, and in its radiant glow she can see it youthful.  Beautiful.
	“Asaru?” she asks.
	Yes, the Ethereal answers, This is I.  I, in my true form.  When not Eidoleon, as I have been many.  This is the I who is, who has always been.
	He tilts his head.
	Hello, Jane.  It is nice to finally meet you.  You have questions.
	“Is it that obvious?”
	Asaru nods.  Jane sighs.
	“Why me?”
	You know my past.  My youth, when I was found newborn on Earth.  When I was bonded with William, and then the doctor.
	Jane tilts her head.  “So...I'm descended from one of them?”
	No.
	Jane blinks.  “Oh.  So-”
	But you have researched, you have learned.  You know of the Temple Ship that came to Earth long after I departed.  Of the Volunteer, who gave his life, his existence to destroy it.  Did you know that his bloodline endures?
	She blinks again.  “I'm...how am I related to him?”
	His grandson was your aunt's best friend's fourth roommate in College.
	“...so that makes me-”
	Not related at all.  I chose you because between you, the XCOM psychic, and Chief Williams, you were the most likely to not immediately scream at me to get out of your head.
	Jane stares at the Ethereal.  Stares at him hard.  “How'd you know that?”
	You have a pet Chryssalid.
	She nods.  “Legit.”
