Scarf Email

Hey everyone,

Bad news: the current batch is all gone, except for a few flawed ones.
Good news: the days of the waiting list and payment issues are over!

TL;DR: buy as many scarves as you want on Etsy now:

Order as many as you want, tell your friends, tell /mlp/ (just not
/4ccg/), but expect to wait for a few weeks or even months as they will
still need to get manufactured.


*** Switching to Etsy ***
As a result of the on-going PayPal issues, I moved to Etsy. This comes
with a few changes I want to point out:

- The scarves will still happen in batches, but it will be a less
transparent process because of the store format. On the upside, you
should be able to order scarves at all times. No more watching your
emails like a hawk.
- It will be on a  pre-order basis again, rather than pay for scarves
that I already have (an exception are the flawed scarves).
- Flawed scarves are sold separately and are readily available now.
- Prices went up a bit. Etsy's cut is 3.5%, and there are additional
transaction fees depending on your country (usually 0.30 cents + 3-4% of
the total order). The latter was also present with PayPal, though, and
something most people paid on top of the original price.
- While the fees are clearly written out, the math did add not up.
Expect prices to go up and down by a few cents until I find the correct
amount. This is different for many countries, hence the difference in
shipping costs.
- Brazil will get special shipping options. People from Argentina will
still have to contact me.
- I will still mark them as gifts, for obvious reasons.
- As always, sudden issues might occur. Please let me know if you find
anything that is weird/wrong/whatever.


*** But I can't use Etsy! ***
If you really can't use Etsy, send me an email. However, PayPal is no
longer available as a payment option. Only amazon.de(!) gift cards will
be accepted, and in rare cases Steam games. SEPA bank transfer is
limited to Germany now, as there was too much random bullshit with
transaction fees going on.


*** But I need a scarf now! ***
You may consider a flawed one then. I still have a few available and
they should be at your door step in 2-4 weeks after placing your order.
You can find them in the Etsy store as well.


*** Schedule ***
So this is what will happen now:

1. Visit https://www.etsy.com/de/shop/CloverMerch and order any amount
of scarves you like. Yes, you can decorate your walls this time around
and nobody will be mad at you.
2. In a few weeks and/or if there are enough orders stocked up and paid
for, I will order a batch (I am aiming for 100+).
3. From then, it's usually another 3-5 weeks until the scarves are made.
4. After they arrive at my place, I should be able to send them out over
the course of 3-8 weeks. Depends on many things.
5. Rinse and repeat.

So yes, you are effectively looking at something between 2 and 4 months
here. Please keep in mind I am doing this on the side while leading a
normal (ha ha) life.
Also, I am not sure if I can easily send update messages to a bunch of
people through Etsy. If not, you will probably not hear from me until
they are packaged and are on their way to you.

PS: You might see some not cup-related stuff popping up in the store.
These articles can be bought by anyone; I just see no reason to open a
secondary store for them. Feel free to tell me if I am being an idiot
regarding the prices of those articles. I have little idea what I am doing.
