>What is LPCIP?

Leftypol Cooperative Initiative Project seeks to establish cooperatives as a viable and widely available alternative to traditional business. In order to accomplish this goal, LPCIP aims to utilize the collective manpower of /leftypol/ to organize a plan of action and educate the masses about the means by which cooperstives can be formed, and about the benefits that coops have to offer.

 

>What's the big deal about coops anyways?

Coops are usually created to benefit workers or create higher quality products. Coops might also be motivated to create greater equality, provide a trustworthy service, or even promote anti-capitalist sentiments. Coops also generally work together with other coops, therefore many coops would create a very solid economic backbone for a society.

 

>Why do all this?

Because everyone deserves an opportunity to reap the fruits of their labor, and also because society needs trustable services in their life and non-lethal foods in their diet.

 

>How can I help?

Since LPCIP is in the early stages, there is a lot of groundwork that needs to be laid out. Planning is key to our success, so starting a wiki and contributing to it would be a major asset. LPCIP artwork, information about existing cooperations, and general word-spreading are also greatly appreciated contributions. Please if you can get members of coops to contribute to the movement.

 

>Help! Where do I start?

LPCIP general threads will have the latest information on starting coops as well as new information about coop strategies, coop news, and statistics and goals involving our movement. Check the LPCIP wiki (when it becomes reality) for projects that can be taken on to forward the movement. One could for instance decide to be the dedicated updater of this FAQ. Really, start wherever is most conveniant to LPCIP at the moment. Perhaps pick a duty according to your skills, or just spread the word of LPCIP.
