Mages are basically human beings but they have been awakened or enlightened and found the truth about their powers. They seek to change the world around them. They're physically like any other human. Unlike the other races, they have knowledge of magic and they have the ability to use it. Mages tend to seek to learn more about what they are, and they tend to seek knowledge about everything, but that doesn't mean they are necessarily bright. Some mages are smart, some are not. Not everyone can be a mage, however those who are chosen are granted the ability to become something powerful and change the world around them. Some mages tend to work alone and others prefer to work in groups.

[b]2.[color=white]What is the [i][s]awakening [/s][/i]? (250 words min)[/color][/b]

The awakening is a process/event where a sleeper starts seeing the world differently and starts seeing the truth, everything they thought about the world begins changing gradually. The awakening opens many doors for the mage to enlighten himself/herself, giving them more knowledge about what the world truly is, It's like lifting the veil cast upon the sleeper, and allowing them to see everything in it's true form. The awakening may happen to everyone, age, sex and nationality do not matter in this case, they might be awakened for different reasons, as long as they have the potential. Most cases of awakening happens during puberty or in any situation where the sleeper is near to death, like a car crash, getting shot, stabbed or anything that came close to killing the sleeper. The awakening might as well happen while they're sleeping, in their dreams, where the sleeper meets/contacts their avatar, and the sleeper will be given the option to decide if they want to be awakened or not. Recently awakened mages always
tend to find answers to their questions and to gain more abilities. After being awoken, the mage will be able to contact their avatar and have the ability to use quintessence, which is the traditional name for mana. After being able to control their quintessence, the mage can cast spells and such, but that doesn't mean they can do everything. It depends on what they have learned and their imagination, and what it does. Almost everything is possible with magic. Also, Mage's after being awakened at first, they feel different and more enlightened than before, and a little scared since their avatar comes in contact with them, especially if they were old.

[b]3.[color=white]What is an [u][i]avatar [/i][/u] ? (150 words min)[/color][/b]

An avatar simply is what guides the mage, they're what the mages are, not literally but it's like yourself but in the spirits world. They are the one who awakens the mage, and they are the source of the mage's quintessence. Avatar shows them the way to use Quintessence and maniplutate it. basically the avatar emits the mage with the ability to perform magic, and the avatar awakens the mage, making them see the world in it's true form. The avatar is usually the mage's opposite gender, but it sometimes depends on the mage interpretations. The avatar's job is to awaken and guide the mage. The avatar usually appears for the first time in the mage's dreams (The awakening) and it will explain everything to the mage. The avatar's nature depends on their essence, it also describes the way in which the avatar seeks ascension, the avatar's Essence is most likely
to be how the mage outlook on life.

The mage's nature actually depends on the mage's avatar, making decisions, phsical appearance and traits. It depends on many factors aswell, as his personallity, experience, avatar's essence, Mage's nature depends on the mage's influence with the avatar.

[b]5.[color=white]What is a mage's [u][i]resonance [/i][/u]?[/color][/b]

Resonance measures your character's humanity, because if he has high resonance, he is more a magical creature and has left his humanity behind, Resonance affects the way you behave and affects your char's personallity, Resonance is not a good thing, becaue it can crush the mage and prevents him from reaching Ascension, The resonance is based on the avatar's Essence.
There are four types of Resonance; Dynamic, Pattern, Primordial and Questing.
