•	Fire Crystal – Housed in Solmire, City of Knowledge – Possessed by Mystra, Goddess of Magic (Lawful Neutral)
o	Current Guardian: Great Sage Aliatra Hawklight (Female Human Warlock)
o	Solmire is the city of Knowledge, containing most of Gaia’s magical universities, where the most powerful magic users come to hone their craft. In the centre of the city stands the arcane tower, which can only be entered by those with permission of the Great Sage, usually esteemed scholars. It is said that the arcane tower contains a library with every magical secret in the world. Throughout the city, there are also several monasteries where monks train, as they are drawn to the serene and enlightening atmosphere of the city.
o	The city’s Great Sage is selected by Mystra, who offers to make a warlock contract with them. In exchange for unrivalled magical powers, they must fulfil the duties of a guardian, and maintain order in the city. While there is no formal process to removing a guardian, Mystra may break the contract if she feels a more suitable candidate has appeared. Mystra will simply reselect if her Great Sage has passed away.
o	The fire crystal was previously claimed by Tiamat, who used its power to corrupt dragons into evil chromatic dragons. However, the good dragon god Bahamut rallied all remaining good metallic dragons to defeat Tiamat and her hoard, along with the help of Mystra and her magic followers, on the condition that she received the crystal once Tiamat was defeated. Bahamut reluctantly agreed, desperate to prevent Tiamat from corrupting the few metallic dragons left. The war was eventually won in Bahamut’s favour, but there were many casualties, resulting in dragons becoming much rarer than they were before. Bahamut gave the crystal to Mystra as promised.
•	Darkness Crystal – Housed in the Underdark – Possessed by the Spider Queen Lolth, Goddess of Trickery and Drow (Dark Elves) (Chaotic Evil)
o	Current Guardian: The Drider Matriarch
o	Not much is currently known about the Darkness Crystal’s city, as it is sealed in the Underdark, home to the Drow. It is theorised that rather than being kept in a city, Lolth ensures it is kept in her largest temple.
o	The crystal is guarded by the Drider Matriarch. A drider is a drow who Lolth has considered particularly loyal, blessing them with the torso of a giant spider and increased dark magic powers. The Drider Matriarch is the most powerful of the drider, it is she who is especially favoured by Lolth, and who follows her principles of backstabbing and treachery.
o	The Darkness Crystal was previously owned by Lich god Vecna, however Lolth sent her army of Drow to usurp it from him, eradicating most of his followers, and dismembering and scattering Vecna’s body parts in the process. She had the crystal moved to the Underdark, and began to attack Y’laneas, to claim it’s water crystal in the name of Lolth, and to turn it’s citizens into drow. However, she was stopped by the combined forces of the other 5 crystal cities. As punishment, every drow was sealed into the underdark, along with the crystal, with a powerful charm, maintained by the Great Sage.
•	Light Crystal – Housed in Mistwell, hidden city of the fairies – Possessed by Titania, Goddess of the Fey (Chaotic Good)
o	Current Guardian: Divine Druid Wandakain Lightouch (Female Gnome Druid)
o	The city of Mistwell is inhabited nearly entirely by fey creatures and Gnomes, and is invisible to all other creatures. However, Titania may on occasion, let a band of adventurers or particularly faithful clerics she favours enter it. It’s location is suspected to be somewhere in the far eastern mountains, but it is not known for sure.
o	Titania has only selected one divine druid upon founding the city. She blessed Wandakain with the gift of eternal life, and as such there is no formal reselection process.
o	Titania was selected as possessor of the Light Crystal after it appeared in Mistwell, as she is the head of the court of fairies. As such it has not been possessed by any other deities.
