  31. Traits:
  32. Jackpot is a sellsword hailing from a poor village in Equestria known as Oxhollow. Despite being born a unicorn, he had a rough childhood, scraping by by begging for money in the streets to help his father; his mother died before he was born and his father had lost almost everything due to his gambling addiction. Jackpot was a troublemaker, and found himself getting into fights often. He learned to defend himself as a result, a skill which would carry him through the rest of his life. Eventually his father died choking on a carrot, and since Jackpot had nowhere left to go he packed his bags and left to go make a name for himself. Since then he has gotten by working as a mercenary, traveling through life with naught but the clothes on his back.
  33. Jackpot has a lean, wolfish appearance, approaching middle age. His beady eyes are an amber hue, and his mane is tangled and dark. He sports a good stubble of beard, and his coat is gray with a reddish tint. His cutie mark is two burning chains over a bag of coin, having got it after completing one of his first jobs in which he set fire to the warehouse of a particularly wealthy lord, destroying his fortune and prestige. His combat style relies on his own speed, dodging and countering enemy attacks instead of blocking them. He is a skilled swordsman and a capable archer, and literate to boot.
  34. Jackpot is, above all else, pragmatic, trying to deal with problems that arise as sensibly as he can. He is usually the one to act as the face when traveling with the party, prefering to try diplomacy at first and drawing blades as a last resort. He has a lust for coin and a dubious moral compass; he is not averse to killing, thieving and other deplorable acts. He is not completely heartless, however, and does show compassion on occasion. He is often laid-back, and has a very black sense of humor. Jackpot fancies swordplay, and is more than happy to spar and train with others of that persuasion. He also has a fine singing voice, most often brought out when in repose and especially with a stiff drink in hoof. Having traveled all over the known world, he has plenty of stories to tell about those he's traveled with. It's hard to tell if he's telling the truth about most of these or if he's just making himself look good. He thinks rather highly of himself, thinking he's done very well for himself in light of his background.
