  1. Glitchless rules
  2. -Saving and resetting to change Link's position (savewarping) is allowed
  3. -Dying and continuing to change Link's position (deathwarping) is allowed
  4. -Time ends at the start of the Ganon death cutscene

  6. Clarification:
  7. Since there is such a gray area in defining what is or is not a "glitch" in this game, a group of OoT players voted to define a set of rules that they would all abide by. It is important that all players use the same rules, since it allows them to compare times with each other. These rules are not perfect, but they are the current standard

  9. Allowed Techniques:
  10. -Power Crouch Stabbing
  11. -Roll invincibility
  12. -Jumpslashing in mid-air for more distance
  13. -Shield dropping
  14. -Using broken deku stick
  15. -Rolling from the blue switch in Jabu Jabu's Belly
  16. -Damage boosting
  17. -Getting on top of the falling spike trap in the Shadow Temple
  18. -Damage Buffering
  19. -Placing bombs on lava pits to damage Volvagia
  20. -Skip talking to the owl by switching weapons
  21. -Opening underwater chests while wearing the Iron Boots
  22. -Backflipping onto the falling ceiling in the Forest Temple
  23. -Passing through the back of the door to Darunia's room
  24. -Attacking through a wall, block, or red ice
  25. -Opening flaming treasure chests

  27. Banned Techniques:
  28. -Infinite Sword Glitch
  29. -Megaflip
  30. -Ground jump
  31. -Hoverboost
  32. -Superslide
  33. -Hovering
  34. -Crossing Haunted Wasterland as child
  35. -Rescuing the Carpenters as child
  36. -Going Out of Bounds
  37. -Going through a wall
  38. -Getting the Big Key in the Shadow Temple without Din's fire
  39. -Stepping onto an outer wall of area (e.g. early Shadow Temple)
  40. -Diving with navi, ocarina, bottle, or magic items
  41. -Flame storage
  42. -Reverse Bottle Adventure
  43. -Getting the Gold Scale as a child
  44. -Something except for a sword on B (excluding normal circumstances like riding Epona)
  45. -Changing items into bottles
  46. -Wrong warping and skipping cutscenes (using death, etc.)
  47. -Catching something in a bottle during a cutscene (e.g. early basement in the Forest Temple)
  48. -Using a bottled item to hold down a switch
  49. -Ocarina Items
  50. -Z-slide
  51. -A-slide
  52. -Going through the roof of the Gerudo jail with Hookshot or Longshot
  53. -Getting Zora Tunic without blue fire
  54. -Falling through the green slimy thing with a fairy in Jabu Jabu's Belly
  55. -Skipping the "trials" in Ganon's castle
  56. -Dying while standing on a switch in order to skip pushing a block onto it
  57. -Dying with a fairy to damage boost Link to an otherwise unreachable ledge (e.g. boosting up to the switch in the main room of Dodongo's Cavern)

  59. While many of the most obvious and useful glitches are listed here, several other glitches exist. If something questionable is not explicitly listed as allowed, it's probably banned.

  61. Ocarina of Time rules
  62. Timing starts when selecting "Yes" on the file select screen.
  63. 1.0/1.1 Virtual Console or GameCube inject is banned.
  64. Using savestates (Wii U Virtual Console) is banned.
  65. Emulator Specific Rules:

  67. You must use Project 64 1.6 or Project 64 1.7. All other emulators and versions (including Mupen64 and Project 64 2.0+) are banned.
  68. Runs performed on an emulator are not valid candidates for verification.
  69. You must use the default settings for emulation.
  70. Tricks and glitches exclusive to 1.0/1.1 cannot be used on emulator to save time.
