Message to the Readers of COAR

To my readers, Anons, and other writers,

	As many of you may be aware, I recently posted the last chapter of “Colors of a Rainbow” into the thread. This ending garnered much disapproval from both Anons and writers, due to Anon’s lack of action in the final chapter, Rainbow’s actions and mindset, and the similarities between it and the original “Rainbow Factory” fanfiction’s ending. I will be addressing these first.

	Anonymous’s lack of action was due to a lack of energy to continue fighting; after being beaten, raped, and all manner of torture, his spirit had been broken, and he just couldn’t go on anymore. During his conversations with Rainbow Dash, he already knew, and had accepted, that he was long gone. He knew there was no point in trying to reason with her for it; he had done what he did with full intentions of stopping the factory. It had been his fate from the beginning.

	Which brings me to the point of Rainbow’s behavior in this chapter. This simply goes back to where her loyalties lie; she’s simply more loyal to her home than she is to one lone being. The reasoning I have is due to extreme conditioning within the factory itself by Dr. Atmosphere. In addition to this, his role as her father brings up the issue of loyalty to family as well. The behavior that Rainbow Dash displayed before and after her private chat with Anon is simply a front; he is still her friend, but she can do nothing to protect him. All she can do at that point is try and help him pass through as painlessly as possible; that kind of behavior would be uncanny of someone in charge of the Rainbow Factory, and could easily cause divides in loyalty in the workers as well.

	And that brings me to my next point; the parallel feeling between this ending, and the “Rainbow Factory” fanfiction’s ending. In my writing, if you know me, you know how I do my best to keep continuity within the story, the show, and (if it’s a crossover) within the subject matter being crossed with. In this case, I suppose you can say I’ve set this story a few years before the events of the true “Rainbow Factory” fanfiction. The last line, echoed in both of them, is meant to stick with Rainbow Dash even through everything. I believe there was one ending that AuroraDawn wrote for the story that had Rainbow go into a mental breakdown after that line, so it sort of adds continuity to both stories to have that line in there.
	Now, as you can probably guess by now, I’m not going to be writing any sort of alternate ending myself for this story. That being said, I am fully open to anyone wanting to write their own alternate ending to the story. I feel that it helps me, personally, see what I could have done better, while still letting others form their own endings for this story.

	So, chapters 1-7 are the official story points. Depending on how well-written the alternate endings are (and with permissions from the authors), I may even include the alternate endings alongside the true ending once I present it at last to FiMFiction in a prose form. Outside of that ending, I hope everyone enjoyed my story, and I look forward to writing further stories in the future. Though, to ebb more on the safe side, I might just stick to short, happy one-shots. It seems that people do not like my spontaneous changes into the dark genre.


Also, an addendum: to the Anons saying I’m dethroned as “King of Spaghetti” and are butthurt about the (sarcastic, I might add) spaghetti ending, I will address individually in the same message: You, sir, are a scoundrel and a ruffian, and I do say you have irked me quite a bit. I may write whatever I please, and I need not answer to you for it. If you do not enjoy the writing I give, then by all means, you are not required to read it. But to criticize for such a thing is ridiculous, and I will not be having any of it.
