The modern day finds us in a terrible state of unbalance, at the high echelons of society, we find the absolute maximum limit of opulent wealth, yet, in the dark depths of low tier societal status, we discover dearth and endless poverty, poor who are too poor to work, poor who are needy and in suffering, in need of help. A recent UN report discovered 1% of the worlds richest persons own 40% of all wealth in the world, while 50% of the worlds adult combined own only 1% of the world's wealth. Simultaneously, 80% of humanity currently lives on less than ten dollars per day. This excessive population and centralization of wealth to an elite few has caused great suffering, and it is also results in highly inefficient system, where those in poverty will remain in poverty, and those elite rich will continue to become wealthier. It is clear to even those who are most detached from the ordinary workings of the real world, that this is a significant problem that must be eliminated before humanity can advance further. Having mulled over this matter for a substantial number of years, I have come to the only logical conclusion.
The only true remaining hope for humanity is in effect, to cut loose those in poverty from their monetary and societal restraints; from the pains and suffering of everyday life. I propose that this is to be accomplished through the systematic and organized elimination of the entire population currently under the poverty line, and the gradual replacement of the poor labor force by advanced autonomous machinery; technology which is not only in effect in many industrialized assembly lines around the world, but also cheaper to maintain than a human being, tireless, significantly more efficient, and with a smaller margin for error.
The implementation and subsequent execution of the program is simple; once a substantial number of powerful first world countries have agreed to this logical course of action, these countries will utilize their combined military might to easily take over multiple third world countries, until the majority, if not all, the nations are unified. As there is no necessity to prevent wide spread extermination of the majority of the civilian populations during the invasions, they will be carried out efficiently, without encumbering rules of engagement or any policing action, which has often been the downfall of many invasions. Once this process is complete, the excision of the poor from the population is a simple matter, where upon all subjects are required to display evidence of net worth above fifty-thousand US dollars. All subjects which cannot present evidence will be eliminated and what ever possessions they may have will be confiscated and redistributed. During this time, leading world scientists will be put to work developing robotics technology to a level where it can be used to replace the majority, if not all, positions currently occupied by poor laborers. Government grants combined with private donations from the well-off will fund this research, and eventually, manufacture. This elimination of poverty will spark an enlightened age of technological and societal advancement; a renaissance period.
The continued culling of those incapable of sustaining themselves above the poverty level will serve as a constant and ever present reminder to the rich; work hard and succeed, take humanity to a new level, and build a utopia – fail, and you will be discharged from your responsibility to advance the human race. The motivation generated by this will drive forth innovation, and technological advancement. Afraid of falling into shame and being acquitted, the remaining population will unite to bring forth a utopia, where there shall exist no poverty, nor no suffering. The drastic reduction in overpopulation will also help noticeably reduce greenhouse emissions, cleaning the atmosphere. It will also increase the amount of land available per person, reduce over crowding, raise standards of living, increase conservation of resources, and by proxy, conservation of nature and the Earth, and result in the wide spread availability of many luxuries previously given to only an elite food. Housing, food, running water, access to electronics, entertainment, education, healthcare – the ability to deliver 1st world living conditions to the people will be greatly improved thanks to the lessened strain on the world infrastructure caused by overpopulation. The advantages are innumerable.
It is inevitable that opposition will rise up against this plan, claiming alternative forms of action such as implementing welfare systems, socialism, charity, campaigning against exploitation of the poor in sweatshops and other abysmal working conditions in search of lower prices – these are all ineffective. These methods have been implemented for years, and they have provided practically no results; their methods are too soft and liberal – they remain to tight to the status quo. Only by introducing drastic action will we ever break out of this brutal cycle of poverty which has plagued humanity for millenniums.
I have no personal stakes in this plan; as one who is well-off, I too would be forced to shoulder the responsibility to advance humanity in whatever way I can, I would be forced to toil and work in the name of my fellow man, but I readily accept this burden for I understand how necessary it is to advance humanity into a new era of prosperity; the necessity of turning the world into a utopia for our children, and our grand children to live in, a world with no poverty, needless suffering, or unfair distribution of wealth.
