  3. I really don't like stirring up trouble. Usually, I prefer to let it go and move on. That's what I did when she came back from Elisabetta's extended absence and accused me of getting elected on Velkia and disappearing when I was on nearly every day and in Cordor for most my time in-game. That's what I did when she responded to me pointing out that it was untrue by making it basically the only thing she did in her entire term on council to get my character exiled.

When she took it to Skype and started sending me passive-aggressive messages that I was bumming my friends out and and terrible attempts to use the southern "Bless your heart" as an even more passive-aggressive insult, and followed it by explaining that she was misspelling my name intentionally to try to push my buttons, I could mostly let it go with pretty minimal responses.

  7. But when she tries to diagnose serious mental disorders over the internet, or worse, use pretending to so as an insult, that's seriously not cool. (The attached file is the end of our last Skype conversation.) And seriously a substantial part of the reason I haven't been playing as much recently. I was just going to carry on avoiding her, but daemonshadow encouraged me report it. I don't know if it's how she usually is, or if I'm special, but this is the kind of toxic stuff that drives people away.

  25. - Gently suggest that the two of you avoid OOC contact altogether?
  26. - Go through applying our full rules and disciplinary policies to you both?

If you want some advice, backing down heavily on the OOC would be a good thing for you.  You're a good RPer, but your name comes up in DM reports way too often to be coincidence.   That's generally the sign of someone who doesn't have much regard for the fun of the players around them, and over the years, we've seen way too many players like that develop into problems that I end up spending a lot of time dealing with.  The common thread seems to be smart people who get frustrated with dealing with the same issues over and over, and end up spending a lot of their OOC conversations picking over negatives in their play experience, being a downer for their mood and for those they talk with.

Example #1: The Cordorian Guard, Lilly, who I suspect is a DM, was struck down by Junior - Nito, who has a warlock player that is been role playing with Lilly during the incident, punished the mystrians even though the logs clearly showed Lilly attacked the mystrians with no interactive RP. His PC was involved, and then he decided to jump on as a DM and punish us. In addition, Layla attacked Oliver with no RP as well yet she was not punished either.

  44. Example #2: Ironfist was running a quest, one of the group was pushed through a wall into a trap, killing his NPC. He did a server shout of "Well this group just screwed up the adventure, I am resetting." We then reset with no warning. As I logged back in, I was in the middle of hostile NPC's and killed before I was fully logged in. Once I respawned, I had my alignment shifted to evil due to the accidental death of his NPC angel.

  46. If you want more examples, allow me to access the logs and I will get you plenty of bias. And yes, I, too, am bias with this DM group. I have had nothing but bad experiences.

  52. I'm not sure how to phrase this as an closed letter, rather than an open one. My concerns and thoughts arn't issues with you, or really things you can affect directly. But I guess if someone else put this in the forum, I'd probably ask LW to lock it, so that seems grounds enough from keeping it there.

  54. I don't think this shift was great. As a player, I actually enjoyed the last shift more. (And that one was supposedly dire.) I'll try to just bulletpoint rather than ramble.

  56. 1) As a player, I had exactly one encounter with the rest of the DM Team, and I don't think it was viewed terribly well by the rest of the party at the time. Even if I was okay with it. The rest of the time they seemed very absent.

  58. 2) As a DM, I had almost zero idea what the rest of the team was doing after Titania's unoffical departure. As far as I could tell, they were running zero quests, zero plots and otherwise not doing anything, even if the rumor mill occasionally suggested they were. We're theoretically meant to be a team, and I tried to document whatever I was doing as requested, the best I could, till it became apparent no-one was reading on it or acting on it, and which point I gave up at doing it in the first place.

  60. 3) The general attitude of the rest of the team seemed to be terribly negative. Towards each other and the player base. Everything seemed to lean towards guilty before innocent. Ban before retrain and complain/grumble rather than compliment and praise.

  62. 4) Shortly after joining with all this power to change and effect the persistant world. (Isn't a large part about a persistant world being its ability to respond and change to the players actions) our ability to change said world was abruptly curtailed. (Spawns, resources, etc) for vague reasons and those people with the authority to still do it (You, WT, and Artos) I think. Seemed to vanish. It was a pain getting anything out of Watchtower on the forums outside of a PM. And while I 100% you and Artos having a real life (mine certainly caused enough problems) our hands being tied at the same time as you were both away lead to nothing happening. I wanted to be a DM so I could help bring Arelith to life. Instead I found myself able to adjust some RPRs, help with some general questions, punish the odd rogue player, offer ton of advice and do some one shot quests that ultimately had no effect on anything. I enjoyed what I did, but at times I just didn't feel like a DM. Much more so towards the end of the shift.

  64. 5) Benwick.
  65. A large part of the goals of this shift was to do something about Benwick. But we were almost immediately barred form doing anything with Benwick (which several DMs ignored). The shift is now over, and zero progress has been made. It's constant state of pouring infinate numbers of devils to no effect on the surface world hurts immersion, and as far as I can tell people cope with that largely by just pretending it doesn't exist.

I suppose my frustration comes from wanting to do something, be part of a team and improve the world, and instead I ended up a lone ranger with my hands tied, that could effect more good and change in Arelith through posting on the forum than through logging onto the server. I think I did good. I know I got a lot of Kudos threads when I was active and doing things on a regular basis, but then I got a lot of hate on all those Chan boards. (I don't think their public outing of every DM's identity helped any.)

  71. And I guess my last point is feedback. This server (I guess is JJs, but really) is yours and Watchtowers and Artos. I was here playing in the sandbox for six months and despite some pleas to Watchtower, I got pretty much zero feedback. I've no idea if you guys felt I was the best DM since sliced bread, or were just looking for a reason to hit the ban button. I've no idea if the area's I changed (At least three maps had their spawns entirely redone and documented) were good, bad or ugly. I had no way to improve and no way to learn if my vision of what I was doing in Arelith in any way matched yours. I don't feel, sat here now, as if I achieved anything of note in a big way.

  89. After being really vague in asking me if I played Jenna, to which I answered he then asked me if I was around other characters. When I told him I was but I could separate myself if he needed a private chat, he said it wasn't that important/dismissive of the idea. I asked him what he needed, and he avoided the question, during this he was oddly casual and not very professional.

  91. He asked me again if I was around other toons a few moments later and I told him I was on my way to go somewhere by myself. I was teleported to House, where he then said it was the "punishment threatre" and then he moved me to the playground.

  93. Coffeeshop and I had an odd unclear discussion about Gabriel Sebastion Shields which you can likely find in the logs next reset on the surface server. During this conversation there was a pause when he then added me on skype.
  94. I figured it out since ah, I had my suspicions about who he was and the long pause while he added me and chatted to me on skype was pretty damning. And I'm also not stupid.

  223. I think he's having a really, really bad night akin to a break down of some sort. I hear he's apparently always like this though? I don't know but I think this is an issue that needs to be addressed ASAP.
