  1. History of Glasses
  2. It has been recorded to be from the 1st century from writing about letters and how it became clearer for the writer to look at the letters through a glass globe or through a globe that is full of water. In 1262 it is also said that Roger Bacon has also mentioned that the properties of lenses has helped him see into a greater distance.
  3. The first eyeglasses were made in 1268 by the Italians and it was reported by the adventurer Marco Polo that many Chinese men and women were using glasses in 1275. After some time the glasses were starting to be sold because they were said to give perfect eyesight to many and so people at this time used it as a way to make money. By 1301 just 40 years after their creation there was already a regulation on the sales of glasses and how much and what could be sold by people. But in 1907 a German-American anthropologist said that it was probably the Indians who had created the first glasses and that spectacles were known in India long before the Europeans knew of glasses. The first Bifocal glasses were made by Benjamin Franklin. The frames have also been made from the 17th century but has improved in the 18th and 19th century, one of the newer models that were used in the development of the frames and the scissor frame was one that was famous. The newest development of glasses was in 2008 by Joshua Silver and his creation of Ad Specs which are glasses that are self-adjustable glasses that work by silicone and a syringe with a pressure machine to change the prescription of the glasses.
